That tip for flipping the small post around when starting a dome seems to be common sense but man I never thought of that!!!!!!!!!! Great series man, I hope you keep it up. I was wondering though, I know it may sound simple and that you usually go for more advanced tutorials but would you consider making tutorials for how to build different themed buildings? How to make a western styled building Castle making tutorial Pirate-themed buildings Haunted house/dark ride buildings Tropical-styled buildings Ruins and temples Just thought that could be really interesting to see :)
The first time I built a custom roof was for a barn that Main Street passes through while simultaneously having a coaster pass through it and it's angle was so shear that none of the premade roofs would do it. Not the best but still good enough. Might touch up later.
Do you have any tips on making a much larger dome where 15 degrees wouldn't look quite right (too small), or would getting the angle just pretty much be an instance of trying to eyeball it?
Whenever I try to rotate my done sections around the center column with the advanced move it rotates the individual some sections around the middle of the section rather than around the center column. how do you get yours to do that?
The worst thing about this game on console is the limit of the park size. Everytime you get a plan in your mind, and build with your heart... The file size comes crashing in and suffocates your dreams.
Very good Video. I play Planet Coaster since two weeks....:-). And i have startet with your video-series yet. And in the new version of the game i can't copy part of the building it works different and i don't know how. Could erveryone help or have a new video. Perhaps in german.
This tutorial sure shows interesting concepts, but I wonder if there would be solutions for a better performance... maybe model a spire or dome in a 3D software? Those are fairly basic shapes so it wouldn't be too hard.
This is the reason why I don't like fantasy-theme buildings. They are too handful to build and impact frame rate a lot due to all those small pieces within 1 building. 500+ pieces for just one tower? damm...

How do you get that object in the middle of that flat roof at 8:27? It seems like you were pushing a button to get it into the center!?
Press F to get an item on the middle of any grid spawning item, like a roof or wall.
Great stuff, will be of great help when I and a few others get going on our Skyrim project.
