That's a BEAUTY! Big Suburban fan here! My first one was a 1982 with a 6.2 Diesel. Now I'm on Suburban #5, a 2003 3/4 ton.
Thanks man! I dig it.
They can have their electric vehicles and I'll stick with my 87 GMC longbed. Keep up the good work guys, keep these trucks alive
Agreed!
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKSHow much did you pay for that Suburban?!
Yeah, who cares about the Earth
@@toast8855 We all care about the earth
That’s awesome! My dad and I just flew to Boise a few months ago to pickup up a 75 C20 crew cab and road tripped it over 1,000 miles home. The original 454 ran like a dream!
Heck yeah! Isn't it an awesome feeling?
No surprise it made it and was still purring. I wouldn’t second guess making that trip for a second in fact when I drive my 1969, reliability wise i trust it just as much as any vehicle I’ve ever driven cause not to brag but its in great shape and I’ll have it running as long if not longer than a Honda! If the steering wheel I’m holding has a chevy bowtie on it ik I’m in good hands!!! Few people will listen to me when i say that though.
@@ChevroletC-my 69 c10 runs like a champ too, as reliable as an old tractor
That thing's so nice, even with the faded paint & the 'garden hose' rust tracks, I wouldn't change a thing!
I'm not going to on the exterior (except new tires and general clean up).
I had a 77 3/4 pickup with a 400 in it with a turbo 350 for a trans. It was a dog. It had a hard time getting out of its own way. I talked to a guy who had the same motor and he put a new set of aluminum heads, new cam and Eldlebrock airgap intake. It
made a huge defference in power and quickness.
This one actually does pretty well and runs the smoothest I've ever had out of a Gen 1. I'm not sure what we'll do with this one, if anything, but it's a pretty good cruiser.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS going camping has my vote.
long live squarebody chevy
what an iconic design
It's so true!
Took my 74 GMC Suburban on Power Tour, was 2800 miles and no A/C.. it was hot! Made it though! Great video.
That is awesome! We did the power tour in Teddy in '18 and it was HOT but FUN!
What a amazing machine, love suburbans 👍🤙
Man, me too!
Man I like that Burb. Nothing like steel wheels with the dog dish hub caps.
You said it best, my friend!
I have an 82 k30 crew cab long bed single rear wheel....ive taken it across states, on hour drives. And I take it 3 of 4 times a week into the day... never had an issue with it. She'll get you there...
Oh yeah! Just a killer platform for gettin' it done!
I love the period correct wheels. Such a nice look! 👌🏼
Me too!
My father in law has a 8 lug 74 4x4 suburban. I’ll be restoring soon. Going to keep it looking original.
Oh, that's my favorite year/s for the grille - 73 / 74
Derek representing Idaho well! Stand up guy! We don’t want anyone moving here but we’ll lend a hand every time. Excellent episode. ✌️
haha he's a GREAT guy! You'll see that he's actually from Oregon but just down the road. More to come in the next!
Same for us here in TN. We're full especially if you're coming from a blue state.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS proof Oregon can do something right. He must have been from Eastern Oregon. 😂 We’ll take the transplant.
Nice of you to believe in freedom,...unless it's inconvenient.
Last I checked, we can move anywhere we want!
I'm a Democrat, that was born in Boise, and raised in Pocatello!
It's not people from other states, it's your bogus government policies!
You guys sold yourselves out lol
Nice 76 K20! And just down the road from my mother in laws house (in Eagle ID) Dang!! We have a decent 1979 GMC Sierra Classic Suburban 2500 4x4. Stored indoors since new. We''ve put it away for the winter here near Boulder CO. I'll be posting video on it soon...and I'll keep my eye on that heater core of ours - Safe travels!!
That's awesome!
So cool, what a great guy to do all that work on the Burb, top bloke 👍so much fun and looking forward to the next installment.
Yes, Derek is the man!
The new guy is a keeper. Has c10 and a wire haired pointing griffon.
Exactly! We’ve got him running UBT West lol but seriously, Derek has become a great friend
That suburban is awesome, hands down the square bodies are my favorite. Loving the content keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching!
Can’t wait to see the second episode of this epic journey!!!!!! You guys are rockin it in the frozen zone!!!!!
Just wait. It gets waaaayyy more frozen than this!
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKSHow much did you pay for it ?! It looks awesome 😃👍. I have a 1986 Chevy Suburban with a 454 crate engine. It runs and sounds great, too.
What u guys are doing is True Americana...save the tuff stuff...they can keep the EV's
We r Revolting ..Square Body Nation💪
Exactly! Not interested in EV - in a classic or modern vehicle.
Nice find can’t wait for part 2 of this trip
Coming soon! Thanks for watching!
Radiator support bushings. Super nice Suburban.
Yup and thanks!
Can't Wait To See The Actual Drive Back!!! SUPER EXCITING!!!
It's gonna be sick! Just wait til you see what goes down in part 2.
Robbie what’s up? Man you are one lucky man to get that burb. It’s good to have a mechanic with you on the road also. Good job
We're lovin' it!
Awesome suburban buddy plus it’s the good old square body burban!! One of the most popular older vehicles out there!! I bet that you would definitely love my 1981 Chevy 1Ton 4x4 SRW has under 100k original miles on it because it was an old fire truck that hardly ever got drove!! You can even see the part number stickers on every thing under the truck!! Probably one of the cleanest trucks that I have ever seen in this year of truck that has not been redone or touched mechanical wise!! I absolutely love it!! I also have a 1984 Chevy 1Ton 4x4 DRW that was baught brand new by Carrol witch was a dirt Business and they used it for working on the equipment when needed work done on!! They had a book about 2”1/2” to 3” thick with every little thing that was ever done to the truck also witch I thought was very awesome!! This truck is pretty clean also but not as much as the good old fire truck that I had baught!! I have a few others also!!
Very cool! I have an '89 V3500 SRW that I love. They're the best!
Awesome Burb! Looks like the rubber isolator pads are missing from the top radiator mounting clamps, probably the bottom too. Big fan of the period correct look on these trucks too!
That’s it! Thanks for watching
Friend took a wreaked 85 blazer fiberglass top and 1" that connects it, welded all together, onto his suburban.
That'll do it!
Nice Big Bird
Thank you!
I want a Kool Rest soooooo bad ....but like you said they are crazy expensive...hell I've never heard of one till I watched UBT . Excited for this build
They make a difference for sure..but yeah, getting out of control.
I love square bodies, my first truck was a GMC C15 Sierra Classic long bed, from 1977 !!! Greetings from Chile.
Thanks for watching!
Love the 67-68 Chevrolet truck mask
haha for real
👈 Robbie or anyone intrested this rust free Texas truck is for sale. 82 Gmc Sierra Classic DBW 5.3 4l60e swapped, bucket seats with console, drop spindles and shackles. 10k obo located in Berea Kentucky.
Mike standing at the entrance to the garage drinking his beer looking like a proud dad, lol
That's how I saw it...or he was actually wondering whether it'd make it or not. lol
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS probably a little off both, lol
With that heater core, I used a heat gun on the pastic instead of beating the chinesium heater core. Worked alot better.
Love the Suburban! I’ve found a’91 V1500 that I’m hoping to add to my fleet. Am anxious to see how this road trip goes. That ‘70 GMC is a great find too.
Just wait! The second video is a slammer
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS How soon will the next installment arrive? Enquiring minds......

Man I sure do too!
Great video as always! So cool
Thanks again!
I can only imagine long tripping my ‘85 C10. That would be awesome but also a pain without A/C 😅. Awesome video UBT
Come on Jared what's life without sweating on a road trip through the deserts of California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas ? Are you telling me your granpa is tougher than you?

When you going to make another video of the k30 and the burb awesome trucks man 👍
Going for the spoiler... How was the drive?
Amazing :)
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS Cliffhanger!
Jealous of this trip! Really been wanting to go back home to Oregon / Idaho and find a good old truck to road trip back to Kentucky for a while now!
Flying out is the way! And I absolutely deplore flying.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS I don't mind the flying, just hate the airport sitting! Flew in and out of the Boise airport more times than I can count, and it's generally one of the easiest.
Nice. Live in Nampa, myself. Had a 73' Sub with a 454 way back when. Used it transporting my band and a trlr all over, and into Canada in the 80's.
Awesome! That's so rad! We're in Nampa in the next one. :)
"cause Taiwan bro". I just put new gas tanks in my k30 and had an issue getting the straps around them cause of the way they were made and I kept asking why its like that and my buddy said the exact same thing!
Nice👍
Thank you!
Nice, I'm working on an 87 1/2 ton 4x4. Traded my 76 2wd for it. Not in as good as shape as that rig. Sweet find. I couldn't make out where he got the rims from. Half deaf due to growing up around heavy equipment. ha ha
Awesome! The wheels are from Summit Racing and are Wheel Vintiques brand.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS Thank you!
I have always wanted to know can you take doors off a suburban or a blazer an put them on a c10 it looks like it's all the same an back then they were very cost effective please let me know obviously the same years
The front doors are for sure.
So nice to be able to work on a truck that you don’t need a computer
For sure
My dipstick on my 400 is on driver side . Run them numbers. I'm curious. That burb is amazing man good score. Sounds like 400 but tough to tell by ear lol
I need to but still haven't.
Check the harmonic balancer
I had the exact same issue when I replaced the heatercore on my 77 🤣
They're never any fun!
احلى شيء نزلت في الجمسات هذي قويه وحق خط ما هي معقده زي الجديده
If yall are just now headed back home stop through Kansas city and hit up lmc on the way youll be able to pick up oe radiator support rubbers for that o girl. And that 2 knob radio though i love seein those still in there lol
I live outside kc so im next to classic parts but just a stones throw away from lmc and just pick up my stuff. And they stock the sequential taillights there as well lol
Awesome! Thanks for the offer but we’re back South now.
Nice burb, that's next on my list only a 73-80 but a k10.
Is that the Roadkill suburban? If not it’s got a twin!
Nope. That's the UBT burb - Boise.
Where did you find the cool rest? I’ve been looking for one for my square
eBay
I've only been to Boise once and it was a year ago to pick up a helicopter that I trailered to Iowa.
Don't hear that everyday! lol
Cool burb and awesome content you gonna have to get a diecast to match all ya rides to set on your dash
That would be cool!
That suburban looks like it's name should be jimbo
Haha I’ll take that
LOVE.
Me too brother
Beer in Boise - that's why you really went out there
The beer is so good
If the flexplate has a countweight it is a 400
Sweet rig, where did you get those steelies and hubcaps?
Thanks! The steelies are wheel vintuques that I bought from Summit and the caps are factory GM that I got off ebay.
It's a keeper
Yes it is!
Love it
Me too!
UBT all day!
Did you get together with the FB group IdahoC10?
I think we did. A lot of Idaho guys came out to the meet-up.
I bet this bad boy gets single digit mpg, especially when towing.
So that's like 200 gallons of fuel for the whole trip?
Money well spent.
Love the vid. I was wondering what size tires does that truck have. I am starting on an 87 burb that has 31's now but i wanting something a little taller
The burb has 16x6 wheels with 265/75/16 tires. We're actually going to put 255/85/16s on it.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS Thank you
Happy New Year to UBT Whitlock Garage. And a fyi, I just uploaded my first video of my Jimmy. Cold Start ‘84 Jimmy . I’d appreciate a thumbs up🤓
Heck yeah! I'll give it a look.
why not a pressure test on the colling system ?
No need. We knew it was the heater core.
I bought something that is absolutely not a Chevy.... I already traded my square body 86 Chevy k20 custom deluxe long bed 4x4 farm truck for a early 94 Chevy Silverado extended cab short bed Z71 I told you guys I traded for..I have since found a 2000 dodge ram 1500 quad cab long bed Laramie slt 4x4 with a 5.9 litre 360 magnum v8 I actually like more than my 94 Chevy Silverado, and I usually say I don't want anything newer than 94,and I ended up getting a 2000 dodge..
😂😂 Robbie don’t film in the bathroom it’s weird.
haha never would I
You came to Boise?
Yes we did.
Swing over to Oregon check out my build.
We're actually in Oregon in the next video!
That's right, if you say "Boy-zee" you sound like a californian.
Let me guess,...you paid 30,000 for it!
Here lately, they want 3 grand, for a 1989 Pontiac Grand Prix with no engine, no transmission, no wheels, no windshield, no interior,...etc,etc,etc
For the burb? No. $4k.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS and if you don't have the financial resources, or garage to do an LS swap,...8 to ten miles to a gallon!
Cool Burb! Are these the wheel vintiques steelies you got from Summit 16x10's? www.summitracing.com/parts/wvi-82-600805
Mine are 16x6 I believe. Like factory.

@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS Sweet, thank you!
The rad supports missing the rubber bushings bud lol
haha yup
If its a 400 the harmonic balancer will be larger than a 350! The color combination is great. I hope you repaint it the same.
Love the color combo, and while the interior will get an overhaul, I likely won't paint it. I love the look it has on the exterior.
Look like you are missing the rubber peices
Man, such a cool Suburban! Takes me back to when these trucks were new. I started going with my Dad to the small town Chevy dealer where my Cousin was a tech. I remember looking through the windows into the shop & thinking how great it all was. Because my Cousin worked there, I got to collect the new vehicle brochures & watch the sales training films...yes, I've had the illness ever since😄
That is so cool, Doug!
No doubt in my mind it would make a 2100 mile road trip. Hell these old chevy c-10/ suburbans if in good shape are very reliable hell a 350 will run as long as a Honda if maintained well maybe even longer! So yeah that suburban in great condition can definitely make it 2000 miles without breaking down 😂
We shall see in the next video!
I think he is a PT . Derrick looks familiar
Is it for sale
No sir
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS mannnnn 🤣
Fuck yeah see the USA in your 40 year old Chevrolet !! Plus love my Boise '

It really was! Stay tuned
We got more snow than they did. Lol. I am 150 east of Boise.
Man I like that tundra it’s beautiful great first impressions (this is my first video from you guys)
The new " Bungee Burb"
SWEEEEET.
Haha
My family had a 2wd 84' suburban growing up. Started life as a 6.2L diesel w a turbo 400. We put 200k on it before it started knocking(it had 80k when we got it and had sat for a long time). I helped my dad swap in a 305 from a 78' chevelle that bolted right in, exhaust and all. Put another 120k on it before finally selling it. Dad didn't want to deal with the rotted rear inner fenders. Never forget how the rear A/C unit would "spit" on us haha. Thanks for another great video and happy new year!
That's so cool! I can't wait to get the rear AC working in this one.
Now everybody's heard... about the Burb
I’m interested in the running boards. Please reply
If you're serious, please shoot me an email to unitedbytrucks@gmail.com with subject line "running boards." Thanks!
What ever happened with the k20 burb? It would be cool to see more videos on it. Very rare rig.
Mike owns it now. It’s going to get quite the makeover.
She’s the twin of mine except mine is a half ton. Cool!
So cool!
Great video, looks like you guys were having a blast.
We always do!
What is the tire/ wheel size combo?
16x7 steelies and currently 265/75/16 but switching to 255/85/16 for a tad more height
When will we see the second installment?
It’s on the channel now. Third is coming tomorrow. Look up the patina ‘59 video we last posted. It’s the 2nd installment.
