Legion S is a bad timing. If you want to have a chance on this market right now, you got to wait for Valve to drop a new handheld. Then make it better. Putting out a new Legion now would be stupid, when we know Valve is cooking. You need to be hardcore handheld to upgrade or change device from we have now. This looks like a flop to me right now.
Sorry to dissapoint you my friend. But they are working on the Steam Deck 2. Its official. They are in the next gen hardware phase right now. They stated that it would not come out now. Next gen hardware is not out before February next year. Then its the kernel phase. Then it will prolly launch with the full release of SteamOs. This process might take about 6 months or so. Looking at upgrades today, will be minimal. Ofc, you can throw money out the window. Then sit on this year cutting edge hardware, that will be old in a few months. That is the reason its a bad time to buy a new device. This is like buying an Nvidia 4090TI now, its an example. Then get a 5090 Q1 or Q2 next year.

The new AMD hardware for handheld is comming in few months into 2025. So no.. The "new performance" as you call it for handhelds are not out yet. We are waiting for the next gen Ryzen Z2 chip, that prolly will come in Q1 next year. Think it will be out between Feb-may, but that is still speculations yet, due we have no release date yet.

New performance is out already from both intel and amd. So I dont know what you mean by feb next yr.
