I’m here and subscribed because of Mike DelGaudio’s recommendation. Looking forward to scouring the channel for all sorts of tips and tricks, and especially anything that can help me use Reaper for voiceover. Love Reaper! Thanks.
Yeah, the Slide effect looks kinda cheesy NOW, but as a video old-timer, I can tell you, when the first DVE boxes came out 40 years ago, a Slide effect was so cool because it had been impossible to do up to that time. Also, I see you had the grid set to show video frames. It might be helpful to a noob to show how to do that. Cheers!
Wish you could've shown us the basics with Reaper's built-in transitions and manage the problems they give us users. Even though you've provided us a link(s) to your packs, most of them are inaccessible for usage. In other words, they're either hard to find or are entirely replaced.
there's an official reaper video on the built-in transitions. I recently added a bunch of 'drag and drop' transitions to my video course and preset pack which require no automation, just item fades.
I wanted a different kind of "sliding" effect. So, not where the video itself pans across, but rather the layer "priority" pans across to gradually bring the one behind into view. Hard to explain. Probably not possible in Reaper because priority is based on the track number. Ultimately I want to be able to appear like I'm stood next to another "me" in the room.
I drag dropped a .jpg into reaper and i guess because i also have video on another track (which i turned all black using the video processor) i cant make it show up.
Thanks for the advanced demo. But, it would have been very helpful to explain to us Reaper newbies the fundamentals, like how to create the endpoints that you're grabbing. Plus, you completely neglected how to use 'Slide' or 'Horizontal fade" to create a video within video effect for many of us who need to demonstrate what we're doing as well as the results elsewhere, simultaneously. Most YT tutorial videos use a small frame of the instructor, within the bottom corner of the primary image. Is Reaper incapable of this? For example, I need to demonstrate what I'm doing on a laser MIDI controller, while showing the results on the projected image, while also showing what's happening within Reaper's DAW. That's 2 cams + 1 screen capture videos, all arranged within the FOV, being simultaneously displayed. 🤔 I'm guessing that I'll need to edit a pair of videos, render it, then add the 3rd screen capture for the final render?
It seems I end up watching this video once or twice per year to learn something new. Just watched it again today. Thank you!
This is awesome, I use Vegas for video editing, no more, I've owned Reaper for years and never used it for any video editing. Thanks!!!

Hi. I'm building a video in reaper using multiple clips. I'm getting a black screen in transition. I'm overlapping. How can I remedy this?
Great video

Very good...

That would be automation for crop. The hardest part of that effect is getting the lighting right
Fran's your man, who explains in detail exactly how to accomplish your goal:

😎
What is the easiest way to just have image files as video and maybe also let them overlap?

I just notices "Not Kenny", lol
Has anyone made a way to colour correct on reaper yet? That's the only other thing I would really need it to do :)
not really color correction but you can change saturation, contrast, and tint. It gets me by but I'd definitely want more control too.
The REAPER Blog nice! You have a tutorial on that or is it quite simple to find?
Mike Delgaudio sent me. ;)
Likewise
Me too.
me too
Helpful as fuck.
A fuck is always extremely helpful. 😎
