    I’ve had my 22 Titan XD platinum reserve for 3 months now and I’m absolutely loving this truck. It replaced a 14 F250 4x4 power stroke that lasted 200k trouble free miles on the farm. What’s surprising is how capable this XD is and how heavily it’s built. It weighs within a few hundred lbs of that F250 diesel which has a much heavier engine. This Titan feels like it’s carved outa a solid block of steel.

    I have 2018 XD King Cab. Payload at 2,500 lbs was the primary reason for buying the XD. I tow a Keystone Outback with tongue weight of 1,400 lbs. The XD tows smoothly. I just bought a 2017 Pro4X with a Cummins and I gotta say. I have no regrets. Mine is an extended cab so I’ve got very good payload and towing capacity. And when compared to a Ram or Chevy. It’s only about 1,000lbs less in towing capacity. So they’re a hell of a lot more capable than they were marketed. The 5.0 Cummins is underpowered compared to the rest of the 3/4 ton market. But compared to the current 1/2 ton diesels being sold. It’s a rocket ship. Plus it’s a V8 instead of a 6 cylinder. Which I like because it just sounds better.
    Finally… the reason I bought it was specifically because of cost. I got so much more truck for my money going with the XD than getting a 3/4 ton from any other manufacturer. From any of the big three. $30,000 basically gets you a 10 year old truck with 150,xxx+ miles if you want a diesel. Whereas with the XD I got a 5 year old truck with only 100,xxx miles.

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  2 года назад +1

      If it fits your needs, it is absolutely a great bargain. I don't do much towing so I couldn't justify the extra cost of the diesel. The XD platform is fantastic with its independent front suspension and great size and capability.

      @@4KMotoring I’ve been a diesel mechanic for the better part of 20 years, so I always buy diesel if I can. I don’t really tow all that often, but when I do it’s usually heavy loads. Like skid steers or other trucks for friends. So I liked that it also has a factory gooseneck hitch.
      I actually will be using it primarily for plowing. I have a 10 foot blizzard power plow that is kind of a big heavy pig of a plow. But I think it’ll handle it ok.

      Overall I love the truck! The only issues I've had were a bad trailer light relay, worn steering stop bolts, and recently a weak battery has made the transmission act up. Just purchased a Black 22 Pro4X CC, not sure what the CC means. I just learned a couple things with the Video, thank you. It came with a pretty healthy MSRP of $60,970, but that’s not a complaint after I really looked deep into this Machine! Seems to me it’s about got it all in options. Cancelled a 3 day camping trip because it had only about 40 miles on it, given the warning to not tow under 500 miles. Can’t say enough about how impressed I am with this Truck. Funny thing is, I’m not an off roader at all. I am about overall capability and strength in my towing, even though I only tow a 3500 Lb RV. Maybe an overkill there. The options on this truck are phenomenal. The one question I didn’t ask was, Regular or Premium. I’m thinking the loss of 10 Horsepower is ok with me. Haven’t researched if there’s a problem with running Reg gas exclusively.
    In driving this Truck, there’s no doubt it’s a serious machine that is a pleasure to experience every time. Never had a GM that was as strong and smooth as this Pro4X. Thanks for the Video!!

    we are literally going back & forth right now on which to buy? Brand new '23 titan or the XD? We dont care about 4x4 (in florida). and really wont be towing anywhere close to what the Standard titan will do. BUT we like/prefer the 6.5' bed VS the 5.5 - We haul motorcycles and golf carts in the bed regularly and the HEIGHT the tail gate is off the ground matters (for loading with ramps and the angle) -- so the standard titan is several inches lower overall. But I really like the overall beefy-ness of the XD and just prefer the 6.5' bed. But I wondering if you know of any way we could maybe somehow "airbag" the XD to be able to load motorcycle easier. If we could somehow have an airbag system that would lower the truck 6" or so would be great. Not sure if thats even possible and if it is, im not sure if it would be easier to achieve on a 2WD or 4x4 .... any thoughts?
    We ask because your video shows dirt bikes in the back of your XD so im sure you know what I mean about angle of the ramp and the height of the lowered tailgate in order to step up into the bed while walking the bike up the ramp

    • @4KMotoring
      @4KMotoring  Год назад

      I definitely understand your concern. The XD is taller because of the larger (and taller) frame, so everything that's mounted to it is taller. I've actually given that some thought, and I think the solution would be counterintuitive. A small front end lift/ level will actually drop the tailgate height, which may be your most cost effective solution. I never had an issue with my ramp, but it was steep.
      That said, I think the XD is an overall better truck if you're okay with the decreased fuel economy

    the nissan titan xd is in the same class as the f250, 2500 gm and ram , the 3/34 ton term is an old school term that shouldnt be used, the XD and f250 or 2500s are a class 2B truck 8500-10000 gvwr, my XD gvwr is 8800, my old 1999 f250 7.3 had the same 8800 gvwr , so there that shows you they are in the same class

      It is a very confusing concept. I absolutely agree the 1/2-3/4 ton class ratings are woefully outdated. The XD is very much in line with capabilities of the "3/4 ton" trucks from the early 2000s, but not so much with the modern "3/4 ton" competitors.
