Phil realised xbox games currently made are all mediocre and they wont be selling hardware for the next few years with such mediocre games. Only way was to buy more studio's and create a more casual gamer appeal rather than cater to the small xbox hardcore people. Look at this way, if you see Phil as microsoft gaming then it makes sense as he just uses Xbox brand name to make it sound like Xbox is doing great! Distract from the fact that nothing exciting has come from Xbox this whole generation! COD Bo6 exciting? Mate its been a multiplat game yet all the xbots say thankyou Sony you making xbox rich lol. Man these clowns dont get it.
5:51 this whole statement just bothers me because all you have to do is look at Nintendo to see it’s not a good comparison. If you make quality exclusive software, people will buy your console. Everyone I know that has a Switch also has a PlayStation bc they feel like they need both to play what they want. You don’t need to convince people to sell their PlayStation, you just need to convince them to buy an Xbox and they just haven’t had the software to do that.
@@stonespirehall2998 PlayStation pro is siting everywhere cause of the price how much you think PlayStation 6 gonna be if the price was the issue for the pro what's makes you think people gonna spend 1000$ on the 6

Um. Black ops 6 sold 70% of its copies on PS5, champ. Indiana Jones will be on PS5 soon. Avowed is 30fps on Xbox, lol Did you get to play these on Xbox? Stellar blade? FF7 rebirth? Rise of the ronin? Helldivers 2? Grand Blue Fantasy Relink? Black Myth Wukong? Astro Bot? Lego Horizon? Hahah. Where are the PlayStation games? The GOTY podium, bud. Lmao
@@BiggRodgaming oh so even though he listed out all of those PS exclusive games released this year...you're really gonna double down on sounding like a moron huh bro??🤔
If I had to take a guess I’d say Phil Spencer is probably not lying when he says the console gaming market isn’t growing anymore but that doesn’t mean it’s not a profitable market anymore. It’s just the fact that Xbox has such a small slice of that pie that they can’t make any profit or at least not enough profit to make Microsoft happy. Sony and Nintendo have such large customer bases that they are likely happy to keep serving their customers and making revenue even if the overall pie graph isn’t growing much anymore
Phil says there's going to be future consoles, but he also said that Arkane Austin wasn't going to be closed because of Redfall, and we all know how that turned out. I just can't believe him when all of Xbox's actions suggest the opposite.
Microsoft doesn't see the gaming market as a place where they look for ways to innovate; they see it as something that they exploit for profit. None of this stuff that they are talking about adds any value for the consumer or the developers. Microsoft is trying to sell a subscription service where people can play old games. Why does anybody need Microsoft in order to do that now? The answer is "they don't." The developers don't need a new subscription service in order to sell their old games; the gamers don't need a new subscription service in order to buy old games. Microsoft is simply looking for ways that they can make money. In addition, $20 a month is enough money to buy 3 or 4 AAA titles per year. If Game Pass is to have a chance Microsoft has to begin with developing games that can only be played over Game Pass, in other words, MAKE EXCLUSIVES FOR IT. That is the same thing gamers have been telling them about Xbox for decades.
Yeup!! But then people want to turn around and say Sony is doing this and are greedy. What I've seen from Sony is them implementing everything that people (the true, serious consumers and fans) have asked for. They've implemented all inclusiveness, gave us PS Portal, VR2, they remastered games for fan's favs, they gave us new hardware (which I personally most definitely wanted), and they are bringing us new games! For people to say Sony has no games is just ridiculous to me, when Xbox actually has no games, and now no new hardware! Then trying to shade those facts...and this doesn't trigger anybody to see this as greedy when Phil said what he said? Give me a break 🙄. I actually think it's smart what Microsoft is doing, I mean you still gotta make that bread and butter somehow. But that shot they took at Sony was kinda underhanded to make themselves look better than what people are seeing. Just goes to show, always go with your intuition because I never really cared for Xbox and their games. Always thought it was boring aside from halo, and even then that kinda got boring to me. When I came back to gaming, got the switch (almost instant regret) and now I'm on the PS5 Pro--instant gratification.
If you're a patient gamer and buy them on sale, 20 a month is enough to buy 24 games a year or more. Games often drift under 10 eventually or during a huge sale. Most of my library was bought for that price only a year or two after initial release. So yeah 24 games I own vs having limited time to play month to month and not even finishing 1 game per month sometimes due to schedules, like many adults. Game pass is only a great value if you want games on launch that are owned by MS. Even then that many amazing titles don't release every year owned by MS. This year they had Black Ops? That's all you're getting for 240 dollar value really?
I have all 3 ps5 switch and series x and will continue to play all 3. xbox will have hardware moving forward. Hardware is a loss leader in the industry. Games subscription services and micro transactions are where the money is made.
I was born on it so I just stay there, most ps5 exclusives don’t interest me and I like game pass bc of all the value I get from it, most Xbox ppl don’t care, we just get grouped in with the Xbox journalists
@@egordon7543 game pass is arguably the best thing Xbox has ever done, but at the same time, putting first party games on it on release day is the reason Xbox gamers don't buy first party games and then putting game pass on tv, phones, VR, etc is the reason Xbox consoles don't have a chance of ever catching up on sales.
Is this really a big deal to people? I don't really care about exclusives. If Xbox games go to other consoles and platforms how does that affect me as a player? I just like the Xbox hardware better. I have both Series X and PS5. I play Final Fantasy on my PS5 but other than that it just sits there collecting dust. I like everything about the Xbox system better from the interface, online party system and controller. Am i really supposed to care about this?
I knew it was over when I bought a Series S and tried to play Destiny 2 on it. Couldn't even run around the tower at 60 fps and there were stutters and all that... and let's not talk about PvP 🤦🏽♂️

@@trinigooner8865 how is Xbox failing when last year alone, 5 Xbox games was in the top 20 most sold games of 2023… #2 mw3 #6 Diablo 4, #7 mw2, #11 starfield, #20 Minecraft. And this is without using the benefits of gamepass, dlc, and micro transactions. Sony last year only had 2 games. #4 Spider-Man 2, #16 mlb the show 23…. A single player game that has to pay Disney interactive for using marvel properties in the game, and pay mlb for the licensing. Xbox owned 25% of those games on that list 😂. While PlayStation only had 5% plus a hefty fee for those IP’s.🤷🏼♂🤦♂
If a video game console is _this_ engrained into your personality that you get triggered about someone reporting news, you need to reevaluate your life. This comment is embarrassing.
As a loyal xbox customer since the beginning, It's disappointing but saw this coming. I have been spreading out to other platforms since earlier this year. First Nintendo then Steam and now PS5pro which is my first Sony console since the PS2. I will no longer be buying 3rd party on xbox with the future of my massive digital library unclear.
So unfortunate that it's come to this. I've been on Xbox since the 360 and have a huge library. Sadly that isn't keeping me on Xbox anymore. Here I come Sony 😢
With today's age, it's multiplatform now. If it's before 2000 where kids could barely afford only 1 console. Today, those 90s kid can afford multiple consoles. The way xbox is going, it is heading the path of Sega after the Dreamcast.
@@ReforgeGaming Just saying that, them marketing "This is an Xbox" isn't new to what they've been doing as a company, expanding their ecosystem. They're just putting to words what they've been wanting to do, none of their messaging however is "new" or surprising. I think the fear from most people is that this means the console portion is dead which isn't what Xbox is saying, they're growing the ecosystem 'FROM' the Xbox - as they grow gamepass and put it on devices like Firestick etc.

Great video. Thats exactly what Im thinking for like a year now. And yes - sure this will be good for Microsoft, since they can possibly reach more players etc and get more money but Microsoft doesnt care about Xbox anymore and if the last loyal fans finally understand it I would be shocked if all of them stay on "Xbox". The only reason they are calling it this way --"everything is an Xbox"-- is because they fear to lose their fanbase if they suddenly announce from one day to another how Xbox isnt a priority anymore. Imagine they would have instantly told their fanbase how theres no red line for what games are coming to Playstation. I swear these fans are getting mindcontroled. First there were ONLY 4 games going over, now theres no red line. Now everything is an Xbox and later on nothing is an Xbox. Im dead serious when I say I always prefered Playstation and PC after the 360 days, BUT Xbox is by far the most consumer friendly of them all with Gamepass and their goal to bring their games to as many platforms, devices and players as possible. I honestly aprecciate it. Just sad for them gamers like me care about game quality and exclusives. I truly believe if exclusives die (the selling point of a platform) the overall game quality will go down and I have to say it went already down with Gamepass, but the price will go higher and higher to a point where they arent consumer firendly anymore... trust me. And btw since they obviously reach to a new audience, what exactly tells them their new audience will be loyal ? Edit : Cloud gaming in Germany for example is basically impossible since our internet is absolutely garbage ngl
"The community is divided. Some fans stand by Xbox, praising its commitment to inclusivity and backward compatibility while others feel disconnect as exclusives don’t seem to hit the mark compared to rival titles." "Concerns about Xbox's ability to deliver new, exciting content dominate discussions. A growing sentiment dreads the thought of Xbox slipping into irrelevance."
XBOX is always way ahead First it was offering proper online play with xbox Live and charging for the online service Also adding a HDD on a console to eliminate memory cards Then it was Party Chat and Achievements Then Cloud saves Then that always online requirement Then going on PC Then Smart Delivery so one purchase works on PC and xbox Then quick resume recently And obviously Gamepass which is now the money maker they see as the future that gives u access at any time on any device no downloads or system requirements needed

Hopefully all this weird marketing in not disclosing exclusivity windows goes away too. That’s one of my biggest pet peeves with XBOX and their marketing. Stalker 2 is calling my name 😅
To me I was all about consoles, xbox series x, then I tried GFN ultimate cloud gaming, with a stable Internet connection and 8ms server lag, plus Nvidia reflex, my GFN experience actually performs better (input lag, latency) than a native console, plus it is 5x more powerful gpu 4080/16c threadripper CPU... sold my xbox a month after trying this, all that being said I still Have my xbox/pc gamepass because it is incredible value for money, can play Xbox's CoD MW3/BO6 on extreme settings at 4K/120fps, can't wait to play gamepass versions of Stalker 2.... if I was gonna buy another console it would probably be PS6 because of games like GoT, GoW, Horizon ZD/FW, but for now I use boosteroid which supports all these games and they actuallyhave rockstar games (though they haven't updated Horizon ZD to the remastered yet) as you can probably tell, I am a cloudgaming fan boy, first time I tried xcloud, I was like this will never work, image quality was terrible, with GFN ultimate and boosteroid ultra, yes there are compression artifacts at times (volumetrics and very dark scenes) and for some reason although boosteroid says 4K120fps, I have to set my screen resolution to 83% of 4K to get a stable decode of 120fps, it has far more positives than negatives, people should find what works for them, just don't write off cloud gaming like I did based on xcloud or amazon Luna 😂👍
What Phil is saying regarding " losing due to people building up their digital libraries " is a strange conclusion. They primarily lost due to a higher launch price, but also having this message of always being online and not being able to get used games. How did Sony win with digital libraries?, if anything they still encouraged physical media.he's not making much sense.
I think these changes are why I literally can’t access my 7 yr old account on my xbox one anymore. It refuses to let me on that account, refuses to let me move any data from it to the one I use now, I have to start all over from scratch and every single one of their gamepass deals is now the same monthly charge. I don’t know what else to do.
Phil’s statements really were baffling. Especially since the 360 was so wildly successful because they engaged in the same tactics Sony continues to use. All players care about are the games. If you have even a few must plays that are only on your platform people will come. The 20 million new PS players outline that perfectly. It’s widely agreed that Stadia had some great tech in it. They too went the play anywhere route targeting players without high end hardware, and they also had no exclusive content. Where is Stadia now. Spencer’s takes are baffling at best and completely out of touch at worst. And you’re right, XBox’s strategy hasn’t changed from the One era. They’ve actually ramped it up. It’s crazy. Case in point. I have been on all platforms for over 20 years. Since the first XBox and Playstation. I almost didn’t buy an Xbox this gen. It was the Bethesda deal announced right before preorders that made me jump right back in. I, wrongly, assumed if I wanted to play the next Machine Games title, the next Doom, the next Bethesda title, I’d need an XBox. Turns out that’s not true. If you can play most XBox games, all Sony first party games, all Sony moneyhat third and second party games, and all multiplats on PS5 and you can play XBox games and multiplats on Xbox, the choice makes itself for the average consumer that only buys one console. But even still so many people have expendable income as the aversge age for gamers rises, that people will buy an XBox if the games are there even if they already own a Playstation. They’re sacrificing the console for short term financial gain. Sony would make a lot more going day and date everywhere with Spiderman but they don’t because they want the players in their ecosystem spending money in their store. And XBox is making all the wrong moves. It’s XBox One’s launch all over again.
They had a chance to be competitive at the beginning of this gen but the lack of software killed them just like last gen. It took too long and too much money to spin up their studios/acquisitions. Now MS proper is demanding a return on investment and the quickest way to do that is going multi platform. What’s sad is that’s short sighted as they’d make a lot more money building out their hardware and locking people into their store but that’s not what Satya wants to do 🤷🏽♂️
Personally I love the direction, I really like the idea of playing XBox games anywhere. Not sure why that is a bad thing. I'm not a fanboy so I dont attach myself to any company. I think those that have "attached themselves" are kinda weird and are getting butthurt, but other than that this is a great direction fort Microsoft. Rip the bandaid off fanboys, this is for the better.
Only reason ms have done this is the loss of console market share. Had they an install base like Sony or Nintendo they would remain exclusive. This is just the narrative to placate the xbox ownership who had crowed about all the exclusives they would get from Activision deal. No point having exclusive if comparatively no one to sell to. Check E3 2018 comments from Phil, still pushing the exclusives for xbox narrative even then.
@davidforman6191 buying ABK was never about being exclusive. Sony customers are the bulk of their profits. Why would they cut off that money stream? The plan was always to make it available to everyone. Only fan boys care about exclusively. Even Sony is finally realizing that business model isn't sustainable. The best selling games on Playstation aren't the exclusives they are the 3rd party games.
I have to agree with everything you said here. It's so crazy that a CEO of a gaming company thinks that making awesome games won't sell systems. That statement alone should get him fired. Also, he apparanrly thinks there is this huge chunk of consumers out there that don't play games because it's.too expensive or not accessible or whatever. That maybe the case in third world countries, but defimitely not in western countries. Everybody who wants to play games can afford it. Everybody knows someone who plays games. People who are not gaming at this point just have no interest in it.
I still see some people having a hard time with this..they need Phil to literally and explicitly say "YES WE'RE GOING 3RD PARTY" for them to finally accept the truth.
This is almost identical to the mindset Nintendo had when they stopped competing directly with the other two and made the Wii. It paid off massively for Nintendo, but we'll see how it goes for Microsoft.
I said this when Xbox One was announced. Its about games, games, games and not services. Xbox keeps trying to sell services and not games. As long as they keep doing this they will stay in the place they are. Also the new marketing is ironic because if everything is an Xbox nothing is an Xbox. So in very real way the new marketing says that Xbox is nothing and has no identity. This a fantastic way the sell your brand. Look at Playstations marketing slogans like "Be Greater," "Play has no limits" the difference is night and day.
New devices aren't LEAPING because you guys aren't DOING ANYTHING NEW. The reason Nintendo gets attention for being innovative is because they actually come up with new form factors and controllers. Xbox has been a DVD-based console for 20 fucking years and haven't done a thing with the controller (other than Kinect, which copied the Wii, and their brilliant adaptive controller). Phil needs to sit down with his hardware team, and say "Good graphics don't really matter, do any of you have good hardware design ideas, and if you don't why the hell is MSFT paying you so much damn money?"
They aren't going to stop making consoles. Lose the narrative, and consoles were designed to provide us with access to games we played in one space. Some of you have forgotten that in your exclusive addictions. That's what split us up, not what brought us together .
Reforge, this is not the 1990s anymore, the gaming market industry has changed, and Microsoft is adapting to follow the consumer's lifestyle. This "End of Xbox" nonsense should stop, as they created an ecosystem that can be used on any device that can support its service, which surprise, surprise, includes the Xbox consoles.
Adapting to what consumers life style? The 20 million who switch to PS5? The 150 million Nintendo switches sold? Non gamers won’t suddenly dive into elder scrolls 6 just because it’s on their tablet.
@ReforgeGaming So basically your saying that ONLY console players will be playing Elder Scrolls 6 then? The difference here is you have the choice to play your games wherever you want, PC all the way down to mobile phone. It's the portability of the game you have here. Xbox won't stop making consoles, as they get more revenue through consoles signed into Gamepass.
I sold my series X in 2022. I built a pc in 2019 and after a few years all xbox games have been added to xbox on pc. So I had my XSX sitting there for months. I miss the quick resume on Xbox though, of everything that's the main thing I really miss. If I could get 1st party ps games I would sell that also.
Man the delusion is STILL going around even when the record has been set time and time again. Xbox is still an Xbox.... Console are STILL being made as well as a handheld. FACT NUMBER 1 More ways to access your games giving the consumer choice FACT NUMBER 2 More studios than any competitor to give more games to Xbox users and that includes devices that can run Gamepass FACT NUMBER 3 GAMEPASS being the main eco system driver for growth FACT NUMBER 4 MORE Xbox console players than ever before in the history of the Xbox console.... that statement right there shows console growth FACT NUMBER 5 MORE game sales than ever before through the Xbox eco system which again shows growth FACT NUMBER 6 B06 has more Xbox console players than Playstation which again signals growth FACT NUMBER 7 i really don't understand this logic of its over for Xbox..... In fact they have really only just gotten started if you are paying attention... what should be concerning is STILL we see one company evolving gaming on how you gain access to gaming while the other is stagnant using old methods which WILL become outdated.
Xbox is the lowest selling console every generation since the 360 its not growing but game pass IS growing xbox is going after a new target audience the old loyalists my exclusives on my console need to move on. My pc IS my xbox.
Phil is a "LIAR" 75% of COD sell are on PS5. They need Sony to help pay the 100 billion dollars the spent in the last 4-years, business 101 people. Maybe if the "Fanboys spent money and cared like they claim to this wouldn't be happening. If every game sell better on PS, what the hell do you think they are going to do, you sure as hell are not helping them pay down their debt.
It's not over for Xbox. The brand itself is stronger than it's ever been and will continue to grow. The Xbox will now serve as the cheapest entry point to get into gamepass. The series s for example is a great choice because at a low price you can get access to gamepass which is a console seller in my opinion. You're focusing on the exclusive side of this too much and you're failing to look at the metrics that Xbox is looking at now. Stuff like player engagement and gamepass subs are some of their primary metrics on top of overall revenue. Which they now make more money than PlayStation despite not selling any consoles. Sooner or later gamepass will end up on the switch and the PlayStation and the services those companies offer will remain obsolete. You mention that Phils outlook is out of touch when in reality it's your outlook and inability move on your position that keeps on this frustrating hill that your so determined to die on. Phil is right about digital libraries and the damage that the Xbox one generation did to Xbox's entire ecosystem is something they have to recover from despite releasing some solid releases in my opinion. If you think you can run Xbox better than Phil, be my guest Lono. You would drive the Xbox further into the ground because you don't see the vision even though that current vision for Microsoft has them with more console users and more revenue than ever. Now can we stop doom posting about Xbox. Between you, mbg, and dreamcast guy I think we have had enough of this nonsense that guys like you like to peddle out there. You want gaming to stay in that old notion of buying a console for a few games and that's never been pro consumer. Why are you peddling a major corporation to continue to keep games off of other platforms? You think it's healthy for insomniac's spider-man to stay on PlayStation? Well, how did that work out with Spider-man 2? Oh, that's right they barely made their money back. That doesn't sound like a strategy that is working Lono. Xbox is not PlayStation and like Nintendo they had to reinvent their self to continue to be successful. Now Xbox is the number one place where Call Of Duty is played, and you want to say they killed Xbox? Bro I can't tell if I'm in bizarro world or if you're just a grifter at this point. They literally are the number one place where the best-selling game of every year is played on. Like what are we talking about? I can see where you're coming from but you're not willing to pivot from your position on Xbox at all and it makes you and other PlayStation folks sound ridiculous. Oh, and if what Xbox was doing wasn't working why is PlayStation following the approach? Because they see the money in putting their games on other platforms and that window is going to get shorter Lono. It's not over for Xbox it's a new beginning and as long as Xbox keeps making its core ip and growing their active users with gamepass they will always have a big part of the games industry.
Wrong, the Xbox new "Everything is an Xbox" is perfect in line with new, renting gamers. Unfortunately it's backwards when it comes to paying customers.
If you really think about Xbox was kinda destined to be more than a console. Just like how in Algebra where "X" is meant to by anything. Literally its the x (anything) box.
I’ll miss the big 3 duking it out. I will not roast marshmallows over the heaping fiery wreck that is the xb brand. My favorite gen was the ps3 era. All 3 were rocking. Everyone was having a blast. Things change but I don’t have to like it.
Well way I see it going forward PlayStation are going to have to deal with Trump tariff tax when that comes in next year, where as Xbox being American won’t have that issue.
This kinda sucks because this will make sony even more predatory. I purchased a pro by trading in my base ps5 got basically half off. Now my next goal will be to build a pc because I'm betting PS6 will be costly and less rewarded im hoping not but just in case I need a back up if console gaming goes down even further.
Really sad. I was on Xbox since the start although many of my friends had PlayStation’s (Germany always been Playstation land) Anyway, the signs became more obvious during the Xbox One era. That’s why I bought a PS5 instead of Series and I cant say I regret it.
This approach that Xbox is taking is what's driving me away from Xbox. It looks like they are forcing the decision of out of touch executives on their customers. Also, their current strategy, which started with the game pass and the moving away from console exclusives, is the reason for the Series X losing in sales, and it seems like it's on purpose.
After Retold, STALKER 2 and Indiana Jones, Xbox had a far better 2024 than PlayStation, specially because users didn't even had to pay for those games. Yes, timed exclusives (except for Retold), and there are other games I enjoyed too like Towerborne and Hellblade 2 (more of an experience than an actual videogame, but still). They are not giving up on exclusives. They are just being less aggressive with those, and they just happen to not be at Indiana Jones' level, so wait until you have a big collection of those "high quality AAA exclusives" for people to start noticing this. If in a couple of months Avowed turns out to be good, people are going to react to that, and because Xbox isn't clear, we aren't going to know if they are coping or not. Yes, they said they are going to release more games in other platforms, but they never said they were going to release everything on PlayStation, and I think SOME people are just coping at this point. There are people waiting for Forza Horizon 5 to be on PlayStation 5 because someone said the port was ready. Others are waiting for Fable to be announced for PS5 because someone thinks the game was too expensive to be a console exclusive. And don't make me start on the Gears Of War or Starfield rumors. I mean, come on... it doesn't seem like all games are going to be on PlayStation. Maybe think about games that make sense, like The Outer Worlds 2, The Elder Scrolls 6, Fallout 76, ant DOOM game, Avowed (it's basically a Pillars Of Eternity game, so there are fans on PlayStation), any CoD game, Planet Of Lana, Blade, Clockwork Revolution, Perfect Dark, etc. Maybe make console versions of WoW too, I mean, Xbox is HUGE now. Of course they have to release more games in other platforms. That doesn't mean they are giving up on exclusives. It means that keeping everything as an exclusive costs a lot more, which is bad for them and the consumers. As someone who plays on PC I will be really annoyed with Xbox if The Elder Scrolls 6 doesn't come to PS5. Why? Because I have friends who love the franchise there. Oh, and I also believe that Hellblade 2 being an exclusive is a mistake. The first game was originally a PlayStation exclusive.
I feel, in that clip you posted of Phil, that his point of view is more X Box store vs PlayStation Store. I think he’s saying, even if Starfield was an 11/10 game, it wouldn’t make the X Box store the preferred marketplace to buy games. He just worded it as “sell their playstions”.
Reforge sony console all ways outsell Xbox and not making thier games exculsive allow them to get money from people like you who are loayl to sony but want xbox games
Xbox is no longer just a console. They changed the landscape. And now, they are more profitable than Sony. Sony and Xbox don't make money on consoles. Well, a little.. Sony will copy what Xbox is doing but super slow so their fans base don't cry. Since most of them are slow, they probably won't even know it happened when it does.
@@Tuce112th I agree cause SONY has been copying Microsoft XBOX for years. Between SONY and Microsoft.... Microsoft XBOX had a hard drive in it. SONY did the same thing. Microsoft XBOX released XBOX LIVE and SONY fucked up by doing a broad band adapter, anybody remember that? Their online gaming was terrible compared to Microsoft XBOX. XBOX also has the headset chat voice over online. Then here comes SONY doing the same thing with the PlayStation. SONY has always followed what Microsoft is doing with the XBOX. SONY started to release games on PC and they realized hey that's potential money we can tab in. Microsoft is doing it and is successful with it. And Microsoft was the first to do day and date with the PC as well. Here comes SONY doing the same thing. It took awhile but yet here we are. So sooner or later SONY will release their games on XBOX to get that extra money. It's only a matter of time. Play on gamers 😂😬
I agree with your sentiment but remember Microsoft is a technology/software company not specifically a gaming company. Microsoft office makes so much money that Xbox doesn’t shine a light to it. Microsoft and Sony are not the same, they both make games sure but one has a focus in hardware for music and games and one has a focus on software for operating systems. Sonys cash cow is the music division followed by PlayStation. Xbox isn’t even in the top 5 cash cows for Microsoft. Of course Xbox was eventually going to broaden its net to try and reach more customers. I’m sure parents will find out they don’t have to buy a new Xbox at Christmas and just have to subscribe to an app on the tv for a fraction of the cost. In the current market I see that as a win for gamers as not everyone can afford both consoles.
Phil seems to be under the impression that giving easier access will automatically make someone interested in gamespass or playing games on the cloud. The only problem is nothing has definitively proven that. I could remove every barrier that my dad has to playing Spider-Man by letting him borrow my PS5 and the game. He still wouldn't play it despite being a Marvel fan and really liking SM because he does not care about video games and never will no matter how easy it is for him to access them. The tens of millions of soccer mom's out there didn't all of a sudden awaken a "x-gene" that made them care about games beyond their candy crush and other mobile games just because they can access gamespass on their TV.
I understand , all reasons why I still love Nintendo and still play my PS4 . I like the company being focused on the system and exclusive games. I won't game on anything other than a PC or console so I see why the everything Xbox thing to be bad
The handheld will be in competition with the "Steam deck 2, you think that all these other companies are going to lay down and let MS lead the Handheld business? and they still will have their games on steam and all other systems, so why make a handheld knowing you're never going to be #1. Phil will come out in a year or two from now and say they are no longer making it, and Xbox "Fanboys" will go and blame Sony like always. Where is your VR? They will never hold Phil accountable" EVER.
Even if Xbox is now everywhere.... That doesn't change the fact I don't want to get into Xbox they just don't have games that make me go "hell yeah I NEED an Xbox ASAP!"
Who would want to play their console games on their mobile phone or tablet touch screen, and without a proper controller? I certainly don't. What do I have a frikkin 4k beamer and a surround sound system in my living room for? If they expect Gamepass to explode thanks to mobile users, I think they're gonna be disappointed.
Corporate Microsoft treats Xbox and gaming like an embarrassing hobby. If Microsoft embraced gaming like Sony does Xbox would be 100s better than the PlayStation.
PC game pass is different from console game pass. Playing Xbox on the phone is not the same as playing on a console. Playing on a smart TV is not the same as playing on a console. If their campaign would have been titled, "These devices have some kind of Xbox access" it would have been more honest.
I honestly disagree that PS5 owners bought the system due to it being hardware centric or having more and better quality games (6:53). The first 2 years that it was out, there was nothing to play but remasters and Jax. PS5 outsold because it has always outsold Xbox (even the 360 eventually). It is the better accepted system worldwide whereas Xbox is huge in the States. Xbox is just finally giving up on competing because they know they cannot win worldwide... ☺
I think PS5 has outsold the Series S/X primarily because the consumer has lost faith/trust in XBOX. XBOX has potentially damaged their reputation beyond repair with the core gaming audience, so now they're seeking new consumers.
LIVE DISCUSSION - ruclips.net/user/liveEN7lT4dVDak
If people are honest, it's been over for quite some time. The signs were all there.

Xbox answers to MS the purse holder, money talks and we saw how little control the heads of Xbox have when it comes to MS CEO and board.
Arkane Austin had to close look what the game did. It was like Concord and that game flopped harder than Red Fall.
Hit the nail perfectly
Starting to feel like Xbox is pulling a Sega move soon Master Chief will be with Mario and Sonic in an Olympic Sports game on Nintendo 😂
Well Crash Bandicoot isn't even owned by Playstation anymore. At least they still have their mascot 💀
If you haven't moved on from Xbox hardware yet, I genuinely wonder. What could possibly keep you there?

I still see some people having a hard time with this..they need Phil to literally and explicitly say "YES WE'RE GOING 3RD PARTY" for them to finally accept the truth.
agreed
3rd party is great for consumers so I don't see that as a negative.

Xbox died when bungie stopped making halo tbh the final halo from bungie was the end and xbox never recovered
Look at Playstations marketing slogans like "Be Greater," "Play has no limits" the difference is night and day.
yup so out of touch
Phil Spencer always was and will be a clown in the Xbox circus of disaster, but Satya Nadella is its master of ceremonies.
Phil I'd right. What cool things are ps doing with their "new" hardware

Correct 😊
thanks!
Things change but I don’t have to like it.
i wanted a continued fight, not this
I want Sega back.
Well way I see it going forward PlayStation are going to have to deal with Trump tariff tax when that comes in next year, where as Xbox being American won’t have that issue.
I agree but this talking point and conversation is quickly reaching its conclusion. What is the point anymore?
This kinda sucks because this will make sony even more predatory. I purchased a pro by trading in my base ps5 got basically half off. Now my next goal will be to build a pc because I'm betting PS6 will be costly and less rewarded im hoping not but just in case I need a back up if console gaming goes down even further.
Really sad. I was on Xbox since the start although many of my friends had PlayStation’s (Germany always been Playstation land) Anyway, the signs became more obvious during the Xbox One era. That’s why I bought a PS5 instead of Series and I cant say I regret it.
Xbox is the greatest thing to happen to 3rd world countries in terms of affordability. Xbox is not just USA. Xbox is far from over.
The copium of the Xbox fan is something else boy😂💀
@trinigooner8865 yall delusional thinking Sony won't follow what Xbox is doing 😭🤣
I think they're actually about to make up the ground by adding PS players and casuals to their player base without having to sell them Hardware
It's almost like you want Alex to make a video on you.
