KKRR 39 pick up to go to Georges Creek Railway

  • On June 29th, 2009, an extra Buffalo and Pittsburgh Railroad job was sent from Johnsonburg, PA to Kane to pick up the burnt Knox and Kane RR #39 to be transported to its new owner, the Georges Creek Railway. #39 was burnt in the March 2008 arson fire of the Kane engine house.

    What happened to that engine that came out of the siding it looks like its been a siding queen meaning that it hasn't been in use and subjected to the elements for years?

      By what I understand, the loco was pretty much back to operation with exception of a handful of technical smalls to be official, but the Georges Creek is now mothballed due to losing their remaining customer or something. Not 100% sure on the exact situation.

      Last that I knew, she had stared rehab at The Gorges Creek Railroad, but the company went out of business.
