As an African American we need to pull it together and teach our kids the value of education, because it may be too late soon. "You don't miss that water until.." You know what's going to happen if you have to be schooled at home. Closing schools is a budget cut. It may be pretty deficient. They ran teachers in the ground trying to prove what was done with all that paperwork. Now, it's okay to have a minimal education with no supports like textbooks or remediation services.

This is the new imperialism. Countries can't outright invade anymore so they had to find another way. Now we make unrealistic promises and get these countries to take out huge loans from foreign banks and pay foreign companies to build and run these projects. The money flows out of the country in the form of interest, salaries, construction costs, etc. Also, the people who run the projects at a high level aren't citizens of the country they're being built in so now there's less of a demand for educated people so as a result less people get educated (what's the point of paying for an education if it won't benefit you), keeping people down. On top of all that you're country is now in debt which gives whatever country gave you the loan power over you. Also, African countries aren't able to compete with these huge companies, so now the opportunities for their own people are limited, if the market is saturated by foreign competitors what are the chances an inexperienced new company can compete. You don't see China building roads and dams and other shit in the USA. You don't see the USA or Europe building those things in China. Maybe you do, but it's VERY rare, and if they do it's a huge deal and you see politicians talking about how it's bad for the USA. They'll still gladly turn around and do the same thing to other countries, though. Other forms of "foreign aid" are bad too, lots of entrepreneurs creating shoes and clothes in Africa have been damaged or even forced to shut down because they couldn't compete with all the free foreign clothes people send over. I think the best thing is to invest in a country, no strings attached. By invest I don't mean send them free stuff, but help people start businesses, become self-sufficient and prosper. That won't happen though because the rich countries realize that money flowing out without a return isn't good, even though they'll gladly trick poor countries into doing it. America is starting to back down, though, and that's why we're losing ground to China.

I think the blacks born outside Africa are the ones who haven't been ready to embrace and acknowledge the Africanism in them. Don't think that these same immigrant groups you are referring to, who compared to black Americans are only a couple of 100K, wouldn't find themselves in similar discriminatory traps as blacks if they had similar numbers. No ethnic group has to continually overcome more obstacles, with the exception of Native Americans, than blacks. No group has constantly, intentionally and consistently been thwarted from the American dream as black Americans. Study our history thoroughly ; don't watch news clips and videos to learn about us. Many of our contributions to this nation our omitted from mainstream education. Many of the struggles that we stood up for have benefitted these groups that now look down on us. If you want to really understand our history and our struggles you have to do a lot more research. Video clips don't do it.

I think the blacks born outside Africa are the ones who haven't been ready to embrace and acknowledge the Africanism in them.
