I will say this about American chocolate. They're not bad. They're really not. Hershey's in particular is fine. They're not amazing chocolate but for the price, it's delicious. That said, Europe has ALWAYS outdone us Americans on the chocolate front, especially the Germans/Swiss. I have a brother that lives over there and comes over with a stash of chocolate from there and nothing America makes can compare sadly. Final note is that most candy is fine. Except Latin American candy. That region has a ton of good food, but they ruin candy on a regular basis and I never by rule of thumb trust a candy from south of the border
