I watched this video on Nebula which was the first time I have seen you at all lol but it was so good I clicked on follow. When I tried to leave a comment I couldn’t figure out how to do that, if it’s even possible I don’t know lol. So I came to RUclips to find this video so I could leave a comment that hopefully you will see lol oh and I subscribed here as well. So the comment I wanted to leave is this: I found your content very interesting especially since I don’t subscribe to either Spotify or apple music lol. The two things that I feel the need to mention are first you were speaking so fast that it was difficult to follow what you were saying so I had to rewind several times in order to understand what you said. Please slow down, it’s not a race lol and considering Nebula isn’t operated like RUclips there’s really no reason to speak that fast. The other thing I want to say is this: it would have been really helpful if you had explained a lot of what you were saying, as in all the technical jargon you were using went right over my head even more so since you were firing off at at mach 2.5 lol. Taking into account that I don’t subscribe to either Spotify or apple music and thus have no idea how they operate and/or interact with the listener, the speed of your delivery combined with excessive use of jargon made it nigh on impossible to understand what you were sharing. Typing this comment has got me to thinking about why am I following you on Nebula and subscribing to you on RUclips lol
I’ll check out some of your other videos that you have already posted and watch any new videos you post for awhile and then decide if I can deal with the speed at which you speak in them or will I have to unsubscribe.
If you read this comment and can answer my question about posting a comment on Nebula please let me know either way.
Also, you should check out a fellow RUclipsr “Techmoan” he deals with a lot of vintage tech that you might find interesting.
      Cheers

Another great one! Loved the transitions and animations. I’ve jumped back and forth between Apple Music and Spotify from time to time, I’ve stuck with Apple Music lately but I do prefer Spotify recommendations/playlists WAY more than with Apple. Doesn’t feel like a time thing either, I’ve tried starting a new Spotify account and within a few days it was already giving me better recommendations. I think the different audio quality options are great, but I don’t think the average user can tell the difference or even goes into the settings to change it, that goes for most device settings too.

    • @NOTONtechsx
      @NOTONtechsx Год назад +1

@@Kudos2_Me And that streaming from the cloud makes a huge difference between Spotify Connect and Airplay. They're not the same. I've used Apple Music and when I listen on my Mac, my iPhone shows nothing and neither can I control it. In Spotify, when I play something on any device, I can open the Spotify app on any other device and control it, it's just really handy. The other device would show the same screen as if it's the one playing the music but I can instantly change the source and it seamlessly switches. It just feels so connected and the ecosystem is far better than Apple Music.

i use Apple Music because i listen to old music from the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's mostly. so most artists i listen to are long dead and most of them are very well known, so even Apple Music's limited playlists are fine for me, because the music i listen to doesn't change often. like, the artists i play don't often bring out new music.
also lossless is so nice, especially for old recordings from the 1960's and 1970's, they sound so much better with a higher bitrate.
like, compare Good Times Bad Times by Led Zeppelin on both Apple Music lossless and Spotify, you can tell a difference.

Awesome video, I used to have Spotify when I was back in high school a couple years back, but that was only because of the social relevance of it and seeing what other people enjoyed. I've since went to many different streaming platforms to see which one I like the most and actually downgraded from Amazon music to RUclips music because of the better benefits I get with having RUclips and RUclips music ad free, with videos being easy to access for music videos. Just works a little bit better with my Google ecosystem and smart home, but I do enjoy the different aspects of Apple music and Spotify music and what they do differently to be tailored towards different groups of people.

Maybe because I'm a snob, or stupid, or because I'm a musician myself, I actually have both of these services, along with youtube premium.
I find them all useful, they all have their own advantages and disadvantages.
Apple music: Lossless, spatial audio, apple integration with their hardware.
Spotify: Very far reach in terms of a creator mindset. Better algorithms for discovery, music seems to reach audiences that it just doesn't on Apple music.
I put a collaborative album out on May 6.
Apple music plays so far: 23K.
    Spotify:....... Over 158K.
It's weird. I didn't know until then, that there was such a disparity between the platforms.

Let me be honest here. Difference in audio quality between Lossless and Lossy compression (Spotify or Apple's AAC 256 Kbps) is phenomenally large and recognisable but Difference between Lossless and Hi-Res Lossless is just unrecognisable IMO.
But you need Wired Audio with Apple Dongle (Lossless only) / DAC to find this difference out for yourself.

After years of Spotify and recently signing up for Apple Music, I completely disagree with you on the algorithm recommendations. Spotify is so repetitive.

Repetitive? Have you used shuffle mode on Apple Music ? Because that is the perfect definition of “repetitive”. I don’t even know if there’s a shuffle mode on Apple Music haha

I expected to hear something about the position of the two companies in their relationships with artists. Apple pays more per play than Spotify (although less than a few smaller players). Then there is the connection between Spotify and "fake artists" that have thousands of songs on playlists. Finally, there are the many questionable positions taken by prominent Spotify podcasters.
These are all factors that I consider in making my decision to avoid Spotify entirely to better support creators in general and creators who do not promote conspiracies specifically.

I understand the attraction to this form of music listening but I’d rather own my music. I do buy some digital music but I’m old school and don’t nor do I see paying for a subscription anytime in the future, perfect segue and lead up to your business.

I think ( without wanting to make a fuzz about it ) that you forgot a angle than many "anglos" disregard. ( See, i come in peace, is just a joke! ) . I have tried both services and tidal on top. Buuut. I am a *sigh* spaniard. The catalogue of Spanish music in Apple music is deplorable. Only like the 5% of the top artists in Spain are in there. Also, as much of Europe, we are most Android oriented, tough seems to me like that could change if the younger generarions keep with their trend of asking for Iphoneys, the thing is, we suffered a lot in the 2008 crash and got surpassed as 4th, maybe now 3rd, largest economys in the EU by italy by a measely couple percent points, you will be surprised what that does to an economy, and millenials and gen z ppl are getting less money avaiable. And they notice the lack of Spanish and latin american music too in Apple music, my nephews complain to me thwt they can not make like sick 90's spanish rap lists.. cause the artists aren't there. And yea, I am oldish, gen z, but i always have my ear to the ground in tech, og geek here, IT pro. Consider the international! The world is not just USA UK AUS CAN NZ.

Tried (as an apple user) to switch to apple music from Spotify. Didn’t work. The recommendations are so good on spotify and all my songs are available.
No reason at all to switch for me.

I feel like both are not good enough for me. Spotify has the better algorithm ans Playlists, band Apple Music can edit tags and has hi res. But I want both! Guess I stil rather download music somewhere else and use Spotify for discovering only haha

I use to love Spotify - switched to Amazon because it was cheaper.
Now I have a family plan for RUclips Premium and it does everything I need and gets rid of the constant torture level of ads on RUclips videos.

I do use both, however I tend to go more on Spotify. Playlist are better listed (a bit messy tho), and in a general way, searching a playlist on Apple Music is always like “haaa yes but .. not that mood, not that music .. go this one I know it to well..”
on Spotify is always a goood strike ! It’s always like “oh my god yes ! This matches perfectly..”

I hate the sound quality of Spotify, it sounds so ‘shallow’ in my Skullcandy Crusher headphones while Apple Music sounds like it has so much depth in comparison. I tried Spotify for a month but I couldn’t stand it. Switched back to Apple Music before my one month even ended
