Actually the lack of continuity is what brought me back to Spotify several times. Apple has Handoff, a really great feature - but it's not really supported in Apple Music with the exception of tapping an iPhone to a HomePod. In Spotify, when I play music on my MacBook or my Amazon Echo, I can use the Spotify app on my iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch to choose songs, skip, adjust volume everything. I have the full UI of the Spotify app with all its features, regardless of what device is actually outputting the music. Starting my day with music from my echo? Great. When I'm ready to leave I just tell Alexa to stop playing, get in my car, open up CarPlay and the song continues, where I stopped it. Leaving the car, putting my AirPods in? Music goes on, exactly on the same spot where I left. Spin up my MacBook at work? I can continue, where I left. Sitting on the couch? Yeah, I can tell Spotify what to play on my Echo - From my MacBook. THAT is continuity. THAT is what I expect from Apple with something called "Handoff".

@@fugitive6549 I like any genre. Depends on my mood. But I definitely heard the difference between the two and Apple Music has the best sound quality and it really sound much cleaner and have more bass. Spotify is more on treble/highs side. I heard it has something to do with the codecs? Ogg?
@@JohnDeLeon28 You should not hear any difference in bass/low frequencies since Apple's 256k AAC is pretty similar to Spotify's 320k OGG Vorbis. On paper Spotify's higher nitrate should produce higher fidelity audio but AAC encoding is better than Spotify's OGG Vorbis, therefore nullifying any advantage of Spotify's higher bitrate. Therefore, Spotify and Apple music should be equivalent in terms of audio quality. But if you notice a difference, it's has to be in the higher frequency range where the worse compression format will introduce artifacts and distortions in treble but not in bass. Another reason you might hear a difference is due to the mastering of a specific song. Perhaps, some of the songs you listened to are updated/remastered more recently on Apple music and the rest could be placebo or Spotify's OGG just does translate well when it has to go through two compression layer with the additional being the Bluetooth compression. Apple is known for taking better/quicker care of their music than Spotify. Apple is more consistent in that regard. Spotify does however offer AAC format like Apple at 256kbps just like Apple. It could also be that if you are using airpods it could sound better with Apple music compared to Spotify. Theoretically, there shouldn't be any difference but there are a a lot variables to account for and it is understandable if you find Apple's quality better. I switched from Spotify to Apple Music last year and never looked up! Just for the sake of having variety of choice i still use Spotify , but the convenience of Apple Music on Apple Watch is greater !
Well, as a blogger, I use about 3 streaming services. I use 3 because each streaming service has a different algorithms which allows me to discover a wider range of music.
Best combo is is RUclips music and Apple Music. RUclips Music for discovery is awesome plus seamless switch between music and video and Apple Music for sound quality. It’s a combo made in heaven for me
I'm on Spotify premium for now. What irks me most about Spotify is the incongruent inclusion of podcasts. Apple at least understands that music and podcasts are two different things that should be accessed in different apps. Smooshing them together is a mess.
I believe you missed the main reason Apple Music is better is it’s AAC Codec vs Spotify Ogg Vorbis Codec. AAC just simply sounds better now and has always been the better Codec. That’s the main reason if you love music.Playlist and splash pages don’t really matter if the sound isn’t pleasing.
I love Apple - it does everything I want, it has a great sound, and as an artists it pays me more than Spotify. Not knocking Spotify, its also great but Apple is my preference. Love Rose x
moved from spotify to apple music a month ago i love it so much works so much better with my airpods and its very aesthetically pleasing and the discovery is actually pretty good if you make sure to use the love and dislike feature
As a musician I have to tell you this too. Apple pays way more in royalties to the artists than Spotify will ever care for. Kudos to Apple for this. (Tidal is still the leader in this)
I tried apple music and yes it does sound better but Its not something very noticeable I have to listen carefully to tell the difference but it’s certainly there and on some certain songs I was like wow yeah it sounds good but I can’t leave spotify their suggestion IS ALWAYS ON POINT I always find new songs to love in their discover weekly my friends enjoy when I show them a new song👌I also have years worth of building my playlist
The way I see it Spotify has always done a better job with playlists and recommending you songs but Apple Music does the quality of your songs better. Never been unsatisfied with either service, both great 👍
Why Apple Music have not put up a social tab for each artist where they can post news is beyond me, no likes or comments. Just artist giving song or album info
In 2016 I couldn’t afford Spotify anymore so I tried the 6 month free trial for Apple Music- Best decision ever! I did try Spotify last year again but after being an Apple Music User for so long it does feel like a massive downgrade sound-wise. Spotify only has better deals, I have to admit that. Algorithms aren’t that important too me as I never checked that anyways tbh. But I understand people who enjoy Spotify it truly still is a great thing!
I personally prefer the Spotify user interface over AM, but apple does sound better. And now that I’m mixing my own songs in ATMOS it’s great to have music I can compare to
As a metal head and a punk Apple Music has a very choked library. Spotify has everything I’m looking for but I can’t find a lot of bands on Apple Music
I prefer Spotify for many reasons. But I’m also with apple and I love the features they have that Spotify doesn’t. There is lots of room for both companies and others too.
Switched to AM from Spotify after 7 yrs. I find that Spotify keeps recommending popular songs only and doesn't know my taste... Where as AM got my taste and would recommend good bsides that are great and play similar artists that aren't as popular but within the genre. The only problem I have with AM is that the its less "smooth" than Spotify, Spotify connect is also better, and that podcasts are seperate. But in terms of music, which is the whole point, is what made me switch over...
What I dislike the most from AM is that when you remove a song from your “like songs”, it removes it from every other playlist! Which is so annoying because I want the song saved somehwere, just not on my main mix.
It would have been amazing if you could setup your EQ according to genre of music. You want that extra bass in electronic music or hip hop and less bassy sound in genres like classical and jazz. All songs in all music streaming apps are categorized by genre. Why they don't include that EQ setting? It's so simple.
Spotify has a EQ you can adjust manually so like the bass, mids and highs. Apple dose not have that. They do have a EQ but it’s pre set. You just choose wich one you want. And its ok not that good in my opinion. But I still love apple music
WOWWWWW Bro! Well done for working with Jonathan. I love his vlogs and yours of course :) PS I DON'T have Apple Music BECAUSE i've built an iTunes library for the last 18 years and i'm concerned that Apple Music will replace my tracks. It's a real problem as i' LOVE Apple Music BUT I don't want Apple Music to touch my iTunes Library!!!
I will be fair as person who use Spotify from the year it was out but Apple Music is so much better in audio and lyrics. Spotify is better at making playlist and recommendations. I have so much songs and honestly I love making playlist. So that’s why I’m still using Spotify.
Apple Music really needs a complete overhaul. The current app is bloated & a confusing mess. The listen now tab offers nothing. The browse section just seems to be for endless browsing that has offers nothing coherent. I wish apple would bring back the heart icon on the now playing screen rather than having to press the 3 dots to then "love a song". Also, playback is much quicker to start on Spotify & Apple Music lags behind. Apple has everything there to really push Apple Music to the next level & beyond, but seem to just let Apple Music drift along & stagnate.
I love spatial Audio and wanted Apple Music for me so bad. But I simply don’t like the app. It is slow and old. Even my 13 mini laggs sometimes with Apple Music. The app feels like it has a modern look but really old parts in the backend. Discovery with generated playlists is also barely usable. Even after 6 months of feeding the algorithm. I feel like there are obvious areas to improve. Currently Spotify simply has the best all round experience. Especially with Spotify Connect, which is a game changer in its own department.
at 3:00 min. in the video you say, that you can't search for songs by writhing the lyrics in spotify, is not true... i just testede it today on my apple iphone
i have compared Apple music with Spotify and i seen clearly that spotify has MUCH more of a selection then apple music, search for yourself try a song "can't get used to losing you" by song title an oldie, spotify has 157 of that song by multiple artists and apple music only has 27 of that song, NOT ALL OF purchased music is on apple music itunes purchase library has 59 of that song, apple music only has 27 of the 59 of that song about half, shows that any artist has the option of refusing any streaming right of any song, some streaming service says has 80 million songs, not really lots of duplicates.
For me I used apple music for 1 year. And then I got bored literally suggesting songs outside my favor and just keep spinning same songs in different albums. Then I switched to Spotify. Man I found songs I never listened. Guess what if Spotify suggest me 10 songs I like 7 of 'em. The only con is the Audio quality .
I prefer Spotify on my android because I can easily download the molded version and have free Spotify premium for life pretty much! To each their own I guess.

As good as some Spotify features are, I feel like sound quality is just more important on a music listening app lol. However I guess it doesn’t matter that much to a lot of people cause I did a poll on my insta and the majority of the people chose Spotify lol
Curious about what genre of music you prefer. It could just be placebo.
I personally use Spotify for better discovery and all my friends are on Spotify. I used to use Apple music like 2 years ago. Can't remember the audio quality difference.✌️✌️
@@fugitive6549 maybe because you don’t care about the sound quality that much and you focus more on discoveries as you have said. But me, I focus more on sound quality. And I definitely heard the difference between the two. Apple Music is better for me.
And you also said that Apple is known for taking better/quicker care of their music. So, maybe that’s why it’s really much better. And it sounds much better and cleaner than spotify
I feel apple
Music is more for Adults (old) people Spotify feels more like a game website it’s soo good 😭 I’m sorry
Is it possible if; for example. I open Apple Music on PC. But i can play/pause from the phone. Does it sync the queues?
Reason 6, Apple pays more to artists, and lossless audio on wireless AirPods should change everything again, and even change or kill Bluetooth.
Give Apple Music more time. It’ll be bigger than every Music platform! ❤️
Informative video! Very true about the music selection. However searching for lyrics does work on spotify…
M4A is fantastic, and that's why I convert all of my MP3's to it. Sound Quality on Spotify is "Spotty" Haha 😆
Spotify uses aac 256, like apple music, in the web version...
3:02 You can definitely also search for a song by its lyrics on Spotify
I've had like 10 songs which aren't on Apple Music but everything I listen to on Apple Music is on Spotify
The algorithm, user interface and lack of community playlists are the reasons I prefer spotify over apple music.
Reason 6: ITS APPLE MUSIC
Reason 1 also works for Spotify. You just chose it in app settings.
I love Apple - it does everything I want, it has a great sound, and as an artists it pays me more than Spotify. Not knocking Spotify, its also great but Apple is my preference. Love Rose x
Finally an Apple Music user!
You can type a lyric on spotify to find a song
moved from spotify to apple music a month ago i love it so much works so much better with my airpods and its very aesthetically pleasing and the discovery is actually pretty good if you make sure to use the love and dislike feature
I currently use Spotify & RUclips Music and would love to use Deezer again!
Wait, so what's Jon's speaker setup?
Can I order the album orders?
As a musician I have to tell you this too. Apple pays way more in royalties to the artists than Spotify will ever care for. Kudos to Apple for this. (Tidal is still the leader in this)
So what’s the speaker setup?
you can search lyrics on Spotify, its just not the same as apple music.
I like apple. Unfortunately there is 0% chance that I would switch to Apple Music. Spotify is just too good
The way I see it Spotify has always done a better job with playlists and recommending you songs but Apple Music does the quality of your songs better. Never been unsatisfied with either service, both great 👍
This is actually soo lit!
I do wish they add cross fade. So I’m still hoping
Why Apple Music have not put up a social tab for each artist where they can post news is beyond me, no likes or comments. Just artist giving song or album info
Didn't know apple has search by "lyric" feature, interested to see how accurate it is. Will give it a spin.
Either one is fine with me, no preferences and I do not have to choose. I am subscribed to both of them.
I always had Spotify and a couple years ago I moved to Apple Music and I love it!
YESS!!! 👏 Spatial Audio almost had me switching from Spotify!
What was the speaker set-up? How can we get it?
I used to have Apple Music but switched to Tidal because they offer a military discount on their subscription plans
You actually can look up lyrics to find the song on spotify. I dont it everyday so reason 4 is invalid.
I personally prefer the Spotify user interface over AM, but apple does sound better. And now that I’m mixing my own songs in ATMOS it’s great to have music I can compare to
Spotify has always had lyrics feature they just stopped for while and they're back at it again
whats the song played at the end?
I'm on the side of Apple Music at the moment, but what sucks is it's freaking laggy and makes my phone hot
As a metal head and a punk Apple Music has a very choked library. Spotify has everything I’m looking for but I can’t find a lot of bands on Apple Music
Apple Music app isn’t as fluid as Spotify. Anytime I use I use Apple it feels like I hit dead ends and can we get saved radio stations??
2:50 Spotify had that years ago, but ended it's cooperation with Musixmatch. They just brought that back
Sorry .. I put in the front the algorithm rather the quality .. I stay with Spotify .. also I personally I am playlist oriented not album
Which is so annoying because I want the song saved somehwere, just not on my main mix.
apple take they lil $9.99 at the worst time now I gotta eat music for breakfast 😭
3:00 You can search for lyrics in Spotify!
It would have been amazing if you could setup your EQ according to genre of music. You want that extra bass in electronic music or hip hop and less bassy sound in genres like classical and jazz. All songs in all music streaming apps are categorized by genre. Why they don't include that EQ setting? It's so simple.
On Spotify or AM? Because you can in Apple Music
@@meechieflow_ you can't set an EQ for each individual genre of music
Spotify has a EQ you can adjust manually so like the bass, mids and highs. Apple dose not have that. They do have a EQ but it’s pre set. You just choose wich one you want. And its ok not that good in my opinion. But I still love apple music
actually for the lyrics search feature, spotify does also support that
Yep
WOWWWWW Bro! Well done for working with Jonathan. I love his vlogs and yours of course :) PS I DON'T have Apple Music BECAUSE i've built an iTunes library for the last 18 years and i'm concerned that Apple Music will replace my tracks. It's a real problem as i' LOVE Apple Music BUT I don't want Apple Music to touch my iTunes Library!!!
Spotify didn't really copy the lyrics feature though, they had it almost since the beginning but removed it for some reason
Hiii whats the background music piano is it listed? I have both Apple Music and Spotify 😊
Can you still buy songs or it’s their service a subscription $ pit?
I will be fair as person who use Spotify from the year it was out but Apple Music is so much better in audio and lyrics. Spotify is better at making playlist and recommendations. I have so much songs and honestly I love making playlist. So that’s why I’m still using Spotify.
For reason 4 you actually can just search the lyrics. Spotify will show the song under “lyrics matched”
Apple has everything there to really push Apple Music to the next level & beyond, but seem to just let Apple Music drift along & stagnate.
you can search lyrics on Spotify too
From what I understand, there is no way to make wireless audio lossless, especially over Bluetooth.
Some of the things you said are ‘exclusive’ to apple music are also on spotify
I love apple but the searching on spotify is so much faster then apple music 🎵
at 3:00 min. in the video you say, that you can't search for songs by writhing the lyrics in spotify, is not true... i just testede it today on my apple iphone
what you do with your sponsor is already on Spotify
lyrics match is also available in spotify
just wanna let you all know
RUclips still has more songs. I know some songs not on both.
2:58 they had the feature at least since 2015 they removed it later and added it back.
i have compared Apple music with Spotify and i seen clearly that spotify has MUCH more of a selection then apple music, search for yourself try a song "can't get used to losing you" by song title an oldie, spotify has 157 of that song by multiple artists and apple music only has 27 of that song, NOT ALL OF purchased music is on apple music itunes purchase library has 59 of that song, apple music only has 27 of the 59 of that song about half, shows that any artist has the option of refusing any streaming right of any song, some streaming service says has 80 million songs, not really lots of duplicates.
Apple audio is unmatchable ❤
Nikias is just an apple fanboy
