- In this video, Jenny reviews the latest Nissan Patrol to hit the Australian shores. It’s the 2018 Nissan Patrol in the premium Ti-L trim. It's a huge 7 seater with a lot on offer.
This is the latest version of the Patrol, nearing the end of its era and the result of a bit of a facelift/redesign that happened last year. It remains a far departure from the boxy, rugged styling of its predecessor - the Y61 model.
The new Patrol packs a 5.6 liter V8 with 298 kW or power and 560 Nm of torque. The official fuel consumption of 14.4 l per 100 km.
Nissan’s latest Patrol 4WD has lost some ground to its main rival in the Toyota Landcruiser for one main reason in a category where diesel is king, there is currently only a petrol engine available.

I bought one of these few months back and done almost 20000km already. Love the car get good economy out of the beast when I’m driving as I should but the growl the motor makes makes it hard not to want to put your foot down. We have tried a few times and get 5.1 0-100 it’s fast and fun. Was always a diesel guy let’s just say not anymore. We tow a 3.5t van and I think I could take the wheels off it and still not know it was behind the car. Got 3 kids 4 months 4 years and 16 they can all fit side by side with kids cars seats fitted and not complain about not having room. Could go on for days on how good this car really is.
I love how she says "peace" in the end of most of her reviews.

This SUV is a pure luxury I own this and the drive is superb u can go off road and lots of lots of space and 0 to 100 in 6.5 seconds but always buy the big v8 engine not the small one there is a huge difference in performance and fuel average is also nice

The Y62 differs from region to region.
In the USA the patrol is rebranded as the Armada which looked very different in 2010 till 2016

I think Nissan (and Infiniti) have no idea what an interior should look like today, or they are using up a cache of old parts and wood paneling.

Nissan made the biggest mistake for not giving this beast a diesel motor. The similarly beast Cummins.
No diesel is a deal breaker, bit of a shame really the rest of it isn’t too bad
It's a very competitive market in this category, Nissan needed to do a little more to standout, especially at that price bracket.
If I were you I would stay with the good old 3 litre it is very reliable drove 400 thousand k's on it and hasn't skipped a beat
I’m talking about the Nissan not the Kenworth! But still the emissions system reduce the power of the diesel and adds a huge cost to replace them and service. Trucks need to run on extremely high heat all day, the oil in the fuel makes it more robust, the cost to make diesel clean needs to have a quota on it over a ten years period. Not cheap

To my understanding, the new patrol was originally designed for the Middle East markets "only", hence why there´s no diesel option and only a thirsty petrol V8, because the price of petrol there is peanuts, and it is also based on the now ageing Infiniti QX80, which is why a lot of the interior feels a bit dated. Maybe it will at some point make its way to the US markets, where petrol is also cheap, but unless they come p with a diesel option, we here in Europe are unlikely to ever see the new Patrol....at around 9 US dollars per gallon or 11.5 AUS dollars per gallon, petrol is simply too expensive here in Europe for there to be a profitable market for something like this.
The Patrol is already sold in the US, but under the Armada name. Side note: I guess you could say that it should be called the Nissan Petrol!
I agree the tail lights looks like a cheap knock off and doesn't give a premium look Like the nismo edition.
Awsome review. An honest comparison between a diesel Toyota Landcruisers fuel consumption and the Patrol would be good. If they only use another 1 to 2 L / 100k for all the extra power and no DPF hassles it might be a better option. Considering Diesel is dearer than petrol and so are the services

There is talk that Nissan will bring a Diesel option as well as replacing the v8 with a v6 turbo and either replacing the 7 gear automatic with a 9 or 10 gear for 2019.
I love this new Nissan SUV. In the USA, it's called the Nissan Armada. It was rather hard to watch the video because the girl doing the talking is so pretty :-D But please continue to make more videos! Cheers from the States :-0

This thing is huge in real life. You need a running start to get into the driver’s seat.

This suv is very nice n next to landcruiser , i dont thing the host shud not be telling this to audience , nisan patrol are durable like landcruiser nothing is next on big suv large suv better resale than escalade bmw 6x6 , range rover , nissan is top three best suv especially on road with lots of potholes rough road n can handle the most rigid roads . European n american are troublesome on rough roads , japanese tops n less squirk rattle on dashboard .
Why cant Nissan make a Diesel Version of this to compete with Land Cruiser VX??...Is the Toyota engineers more intelligent and Smarter than Nissan?

The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is alright but.. The Beast is the NIssan Patrol .....cuz the prado has less power and tourqe .... Im not saying that the prado is a shitting car.... The Patrol is so damn massive and it has 5.6 v8 engine .... wowwww. in Sri lanka we can see lots of prado's but if u see a Nissan Patrol Maybe old or new , we say wowww look its a patrol..... Every one goes wild and Speechless..... Prado is good but the Patrol is way Better

As Zaman said, we cannot compare Prado vs Patrol because Patrol's original competitor is Land cruiser, which land cruiser wins on road and off road. I am not saying Patrol is bad, but the build quality of Y62 is not good. When i was working for them in UAE i once found a 2km brand new one came without a differential oil. And the construction is sick in quality and accuracy. Same goes to X trail and Altima. Problem is always the build quality.

@@LovemeAquarius The y62 absolutely shits on the 200 on and off road just do you research and you see why. Not saying the 200 is a bad car far from it but what you are saying is incorrect. There is a lot of back to back test with the 200 in serious off road conditions and the 62 wins hands down most people are amazed what it will do in stock form cheers

Diesel engine you must be insane to think they are better or cheaper to run. The expiration response in a diesel is shocking. The emissions are filthy, to all of us. The EGR and the problem with the dirty fuel adds expensive maintenance cost. On the bin with the motor after 7 to 10 years. The sound the smell of diesel makes me sick. Your hands when refuelling have diesel on them piss of. This Nissan looks unreal goes like a rocket beat everything of road Handels unbelievable. The comfort second to none. I have one. It’s the best limousine I have ever owned. For the money nothing comes close. Lots of cash in the bank to pay for the clean fuel. Get one ☝️
why does trucks and generally bigger vehicles uses diesel well because the fuel economy is better and with a good emission managment its as clean as gas and plus the diesel delivers more power and concerning the engine durability its pretty how you service your car.
