It really depends how you drive the car will affect your fuel, if you are fast and pedal to the metal your fuel will go out the window, but treat it well and accelerate bit slower, you could get somewhat 14L/100km
Heard one the other day with sports exhaust, the sound was awesome.
G'Day, fellow off-road adventurers yeah I have been buzzing around the Aussie scrub for around 10+ years, having experienced various different terrain. Got me into some sticky situations even sitting out in the scrub for about 6 hours waiting for another 4WD to head in my direction but that's all part and parcel of 4WD'ing especially when you head out to isolated areas. As long as you are prepared for the unexpected you will be right mate. Now I have owned a few vehicles at the time and it is great to experience the capabilities of different 4WD's. My current bus is the Nissan Patrol TI 1999 - 4,5 petrol with 5-speed auto, with the factory, fitted rear diff locker and will stand up and say this thing is a beast, throw the rear lockers on it turns into a weapon I have thrown everything at it and it just keeps going whereas before I would struggle in areas. I Love this 4WD both on and off the black stuff (bitumen) ...... and yes I know others will testify to other makes and models and that is great, cause you buy a 4WD to suit yourself not for others. So no matter the make, model, petrol, diesel, ute, wagon or shorty you drive get out there and explore the wonders of nature, - that's why we have a 4WD. So take care, stay safe and leave the black stuff behind you.
The Patrol is an amazing all-rounder, possibly the best large SUV for the money ..on the annual Sydney to Byron bay trip/ holiday it averaged 9 litres per 100 kms , surprisingly economy , plus it seats 8 , or stows a lot of bags and pets ( who enjoy the smooth ride and large windows...)
Good work actually giving it a half decent test off road.
lol 15l/100 on the hwy.. did this guy not reset the trip computer. (btw trip comp is oout by about 2lt less then display) i get 15 in mine and it weighs 3.5t with 35"muddies on it. so not sure how he can say its using that much..
Its an awesome tourer. Handles corrugations, crappy remote roads awesome. Better then any solid axle. And more capable then any GU mod for mod.
fuel economy doesnt seem bad. my dad has a 2016 ford edge with a na 3.5l v6 that puts out juat 280hp and 350nm and it gets 16-17l/100km in the city and about 9-15l/100km in the highway. so, the patrol seems damn efficient compared to that
This car is beautiful looking
dream car
They have built that for the Arab states in the middle east, who else needs a big V8 petrol engine?
I had a new Nissan Patrol GR 5 door in 1999 with the 3.0 litre TDi engine and that pathetic 5 speed manual gearbox with all the wrong ratios unless you were going shoppng, I work in construction / forestry and tow on and off road and I have to say apart from that gearbox I loved the beast, leather seats like arm chairs, good visability, well laid out controls, good towing vehicle even with 3.50 tonnes on the back due mainly to ladder chassis, off road it would just plough through almost anything and I only remember having to use the diff locks a couple of times. Very good sound system and air-con unit as well.
great manly review CA,
Great Review
Awesome car. I hope I have I car like that..
“With the DIESEL Land Cruiser, you’ll spend $2k a year on PETROL.”
Wrong, you’ll spend $0 on petrol.
I think we can forgive him for getting one word wrong, within talking for 10 minutes
I think he meant spending 2k a year on petrol if you buy Nissan patrol instead of the land cruiser.
Crazy thing is you won’t match prices until you reach 400,000 ks the patrol is better value
Sergiu Puscasu wow! What a come blocker you are....
I own TiL and love it. I don't think in that price range you can get bigger and feature full car.
It looks as if the front and rear bumpers stick out and overhang more on the US version. That would be compromise approach and departure angles.
When an Aussie says a car is good off-road, you take a listen....
Between the arabs and the aussies buying Patrols you know they are the best out there
Good on ya Matey
Wesley Havi Land Cruiser is better option
@@thememetete over price option mate i own a lc200 Sahara big regret
lets argue at least your honest boss.
i always wonderd what outside of middle east think about the nissan patrol
we love it here
owning a suv here is like having a sport car it dosn't matter how are you married or not , as long as it looks cool and it can do off road its ok
I don't know about the latest model but In Australia the previous Nissan patrols were second most popular 4WD, only topped by the Toyota Land Cruiser
Where does the Pajero stack up in this equation?
MaZEEZaM land cruiser or lexus?
The Pajero is a pretty popular offroader in middle east too.........not as sporty as the Patrol or Land-cruiser, but definitely a vehicle owned by money for family lugging and good offroading
Eid Ali
Our y62 sits on 14.7 l/100 not too bad!!
never like a nissan all my life till this magnificent beast alot of ppl have it in mombasa kenya
Can you connect me with anyone selling the Y62 patrol from 2014?
Congratulations Great Video!!!
I Love ❤️ Nissan Patrol V8
Me too
i love my nissan because in my country the nissan patrol is for guys with big balls like if u ride a raptour in the usa . and we all know if you hit speed bumb in a sport car your sport car we be fucked but in a suv that is not a problem we all know suv's are strong
I was watching a vid yesterday and seen one break both cvs at once you would think they would make upgradeds with new models. It was the rig in the convoy that couldnt get up a track because it was too wide to say its a capable 4wd is garbage
If I owned an oil dynasty I'd consider one
I don't understand why the Y62 Patrol in Australia doesn't have the 2014 facelift upgrades that were made available practically everywhere else it's sold. Does it have to do with the fact that the model isn't selling as well there due to not having a Diesel engine option? It's confusing to me because in the Middle East and Eastern Europe the facelift model was available since 2014.
patrol is the king of kings
Wish they would keep the Y61 Patrol and Land Cruiser 80 production going. Both were the ultimate 3 row SUVs. Luxurious enough but still hard core 4x4s.
That being said, I'll prob get this (US-market Armada) in the near future. Perfect for comfortably transporting my family and the occasional trips to cabins & national parks up North. LC is too expensive now!
get a Tahoe instead
Untitled untitled just because you can't afford the car doesn't mean you should hate on it, it's probably faster than your silly hatchback, I own one and it's really fun to drive, when I take it off road which I do every month I never get stuck (in sand) I always pull my friends out. I'm just saying you shouldn't hate in the car, it's a car that always gets the job done
I LOVE THE OLD PATROL
This car is really amazing in front of toyota land cruiser
Say what you like about fuel economy or low rev pulling power, the sound with a proper exhaust shits all over anything else.
I realize I'm kind of randomly asking but does anyone know of a good place to watch new series online ?
@Terrell Kristopher Flixportal
@Lyric Nash thank you, signed up and it seems to work :) I appreciate it !!
@Terrell Kristopher no problem :D
How do you clear the maintance symble?
If this had the 5.0 V8 Diesel from the Titan it would sell quite well
needs a manual transmission also 👌
Paul Carlyle still no third peddle and stick shift 👍👌
+TheRandomActivity no big luxury suv have s manual. It is just stupid
Ai Ak how is it stupid? It's a preference and option that people still want
Ricky Julian no it wouldn't
Is this Y62 Patrol even P-Plate approved for Victoria?
plus the price difference in petrol to diesel ,say 10 - 15cents a litre
The exterior looks off track to me!! I still love the old Nissan Patrol!!
I remember my 1st GU, when i bought it new.. i had people saying the same thing to me then. its not a real 4x4, its ugly, GQ is way better blah blah blah...
The nissan patrol made in the middle east look a lot more handsome... and i am not talking about the 2020 model... im talking about the same model he is reviewing, but in M.E, the headlights and tail lights look wayyy better with city bumpers, 20" machine cut alloy wheels and a roof rail...
How many MPG does this vehicle get?
And in the country where I live, it's sells really well even thought it's expensive (UAE)
You dont have to worry about fuel costs
which one sell more in UAE, the patrol or the land cruiser? just curious
+bimosalexandres iam also from uae nissan patrol but the jeep lexus is the one that sells the most
+faital l thank you for the information :). anyway the jeep lexus, do you mean the lexus lx570?
+bimosalexandres yah the lexus jeep is the lx570,but more people buy the land cruiser cause its basically the same thing but with a price lower by 300000$(uae currency)same goes for saudi arabia.
Land cruiser is more expensive from factory the two cars wouldn’t match prices until you hit 400,000ks which makes the patrol better value
the Nissan patrol isn't tough enough but ride quality and interior is far better than land cruiser as well as offroading in sand.but land cruiser always win in the terms of offroading tough bulit as well as resale value.
ahmed faseeh Wish they would keep the Y61 Patrol and Land Cruiser 80 production going. Both were the ultimate 3 row SUVs. Luxurious enough but still hard core 4x4s.
That being said, I'll prob get this (US-market Armada) in the near future. Perfect for comfortably transporting my family and the occasional trips to cabins & national parks up North. LC is too expensive now!
or they can do one more thing make some optional rear and front solid Axel patrol and LC 200.i wasn't happy with current armada but I think the new armada gonna better good luck with armada
Or buy a used one and have the best of both world, AMERICA
Blue Patch1413 hahahaha
Video is more than wonderful
but there is a question: what is the "diff-lock" and when it is used in patrol Nissan
A diff lock locks the differentials so the wheels spin at the same speed and helps a lot off-road because the transmits power more effectively
Is the rear axle solid or not
where i live in the land cruiser and nissan patrol cost the same
Same here. However the Land Cruiser has a 4.5L twin-turbo diesel engine.
Is this suv comfortable?
Stop talking about them. Just test drive one and tell us what colour you chose!
I enjoy the commentary.
Tres jolie
Lol, he's not even wearing heels today.
why not put the Nissan titan Cummins diesel engine ?
I'd take one of these before a Land Cruiser 200 any day of the week. Better looking, and better vehicle all round. And definitely better looking than the "luxury" Infiniti version that they get in the states - somebody definitely hit that thing with the ugly stick and made it look like a Hippo.
But as much as I like it ......................... it is still not in the same class as the Land Rover Discovery. The only things this has over the Discovery are
1. - the larger engine, and it really is debatable whether or not that is an advantage. I'd say if you were doing a lot of heavy towing, maybe, but otherwise, not at all.
2. - it is an 8 seater vs the Discovery's 7 seat arrangement - but that is only an advantage if you want to sit small children in the third row. If you want to sit 2 x adults back there, the Discovery kills it.
3. - with the back row of seats up, the Nissan definitely has a lot more luggage space in the back than the Discovery does.
Having driven both vehicles though, I'll be putting my money on a Discovery with the 3.0 litre twin turbo V6 diesel engine. Easily the best large 4WD wagon available in Australia at the moment.
Like the fact that you guys take it offroad, the way it is actually meant to be.
Land cruiser or nissan patrol ?
I live in the Middle East and noticed that Arabs still prefer the old y61 over the y62 claiming that it's a more durable and reliable off-roader
Nissan best car!!!!
What i like about the Patrol is the rear end. Why Nissan and Infinit decided to stick the rear bumper out so far is beyond me. They should have stuck with this design on the Patrol. It's more flush and easier to access your belongings from the back.
@8:38 splashed and rammed the bumper too?
"you can hear the v8...." And you can hear both bumpers getting slammed too, lol.
Faisal Muhammad shit driver .
This is my first car! Love it especially here in the Philippines, but mine says Nissan Patrol "Royale" 2016 not Ti 2016...
Road safety in Australia has just given the Ford Mustang I think it was 2 stars, extremely poor safety.
Stank If you are planning to start a family then go for the patrol, but if you're still a bachelor then the mustang will do (depends on you tho). I chosed the patrol since I am planing to start a family in the future.
I'm so triggered by this comment being a Filipino myself. I mean yeah, corruption here is almost second nature but could you at least not wave it around like it's okay?
Chris Sorreda He might have not visited Philippines and only sees the side of what media is telling. Philippines is not that bad, it's like Japan or Canada.
LOUIE DAVE Kabayan, I live here in the Philippines also and l'm thinking of buying this too. But may I ask how is the fuel consumption (since its petrol)? I had the the old 2006 model before but it was a 3.0 diesel turbo. Now I use a Pajero but I want to change it to this.
can u make please do a review of the new holden captiva please
Thats an easy one. Captivas 's are shit. Poor quality in every way. Stay clear...
Craptiva
It is the king of desert
A lot of Arabian use that car
it's very good to drive it in the desert
floats on the sand with ease
Yeah
2011
20 Litres per 100K's WOW that would cost a fortune to run :S
My LX570 Sport with my driving does 25-30l/100km. No joke.
@@VexVengeance tsk
The three litre diesel is dead, gone, say your goodbyes... .
Nearly three years later Mitsubishi still offer a similar sized diesel in the Pajero. You think Im going to pay for premium fuel to run the SUV equivalent of an alcoholic?
Could you guys do a translation service for those of us not familiar with this strange french measurement system?
Penis Penis Penis Penis Penis Penis
Divide by 1.6?
Sumit John Cant argue with your logic
Better looking than the Infiniti version, that thing looks like a hungry hippo
Very true haha
Do not insult hungry hippos in such a way.
***** Very true
My best friend go now feel the freedom
Iet they feel the best with v8 nissan patrol mai car love t
Nice big " people mover", but that's about it. It is also as "ugly as sin". It is definitely not a great replacement for the genuine off-road Y61.
Nissan is making me wanna cry! Why no diesel engine, damn it. QLD petrol prices are shocking!
Victoria's in the same boat as QLD with petrol prices. ☹
Diesel is normally dearer.
20k cheaper than a cruiser though
isn't that the older version it's not really 2016
resale on the landcruiser will be way higher
Will Nissan make a diesel version of that patrol?
Why wreck a good thing ?
Here in the States is Nissan Armada.
Harry Tran and there it can stay... Absolute rubbish vehicle with poor approach/ departure angles, huge amounts of plastic and fuel consumption that makes it redundant as a long distance 4wd. A van would be more practical in Australian market.
In the US it’s A Nissan Armada
8:38 i though he smashed the bumper 😅
Fuel consumption rate for this Nissan Patrol is much higher, which means that this car is not good for long distance travel. The older Nissan GQ Patrol is still better. Hope Nissan can come u with a good vehicle to compete with land cruiser.
What do you mean?u think 10s-12lts loaded with kids etc is high? lol show me a GU that can get those figures. I get 15 on the hwy,, 35s, 3.5t fully loaded.. and im at my destination before the GU gets to the speed limit haha
LOL ! you keep shuffling around in your dinosaur GQ mate, the world won't wait for you !
This is not the top tier?! cuz my father has one but it's the GCC version.
This is the entry model in Australia. TI-L is top-spec.
CarAdvice.com
I see. Nice review. I wish I could do the same with my father's car, but I'll be dead before getting it out of the garage lol! Such a waste of power...
That isn't the trolls pretty good I still prefer the old one
yahhh.
what can i say
my patrol y62 fail in strart.
I wish this suv was available in the U.S.A.
Nissan Armada
8:39 My pants would be as brown as the puddle after that thud!
Nope, I don't want to see a 3 litre diesel, I want to a see 4 or 5 litre diesel but hey, it'll do ! lol
Did you realise that V8 V10 V12 and v16s capture helium 3 and 4 from Tidbinbilla satellite dishes Canberra Lovett tower and the moon.
Is the equivalent of the Armada?
But better off road there similar but not the same
Same except Armada doesn have diff lock it has the towing button, and the engine is slightly different and is same as UAE..But aside from that and some cosmetics, they are the same
Armada is a different suv. A cheaper made bigger suv
lol so many comments from people who have not driven this vehicle and simply make assumptions. this petrol engine quite easily competes with the lc200 on ever front and negates (in my opinion and the opinion of 90% of other y62 owners) the need for a diesel variant. i challenge anyone to take one for a test drive back to back with the lc 200 and then come back and let everyone know what color y62 you ordered.
p.s. they are selling like hot cakes now and the waiting list is getting longer.
John Falls Wish they would keep the Y61 Patrol and Land Cruiser 80 production going.
I've not driven the Y62 myself but I imagine the reason they are selling like hotcakes is because the name Nissan Patrol. That name in Australia didn't even take a hit with the 3.0L hand grenades. A lot of people will either buy Land Cruiser because 'Land Cruiser' or Patrol because 'Patrol' is written on the back of it.
its selling like hot cakes in which country? cause i can say it aint in Sydney... i dont see any of these on the road at all. i see more of the infity variant of this SUV. i see way more landcruiser and LX570 than this SUV.
they ship 100 a month to aus. prob 1/10th the amount compared to cruisers. Yet there is always a wait on new stock.. Rest of the world is destroying sales in these. Hense y they dont care about backwards thinking aussies that still think diesel is better. USA atm are selling approx 5000 a month compared to 250 landcruisers. and over 90 of both brands are sold in petrol, not diesel.
When i think of a Nissan Patrol, i think Diesel not PETROL... Diesel engine is the true Successor...
Original patrols were all petrol though...
Diesel engine is dead, this thing has 500nm of it's 560nm available from 1600 rpm, that's more than most diesels peak output, let alone the 400hp that takes over when the 560nm starts to drop off from 4500rpm.
8:38
Y61 is not retired. Even refreshed as patrol super safari. Best best than new. New one looks fat and bulky
+Max Mad it's retired in Australia, and that's the market caradvice works in. - Mike S
im sorry nissan but if a 4wd comes in only petrol i will not be buying it. especially with a fuel bill like that
And thats the prob with these so called journos. 15lt/100.. is outright BS.. I get that in mine.. i run roof rack, 35"wheels, all the steel work and when i have just my family in it with fridge its 3.5t.. So how does he claim 15 in a stock car, when every other owner says they get 9-12.................
Stop with the kW unit of measurement. I am Canadian and I do use the metric system. But as a car enthusiast, and somewhat old fashioned, I like to use horsepower. It's not that I can't do the conversions in my head on the spot. It's just a larger number and I like it. And it's "foot pounds of torque." Not "torques."
lol
If you want hp rating take the kw figure ÷ by 3 then × by 4 tada!!
did somebody knows why Nissan don't sale this type of vehicle in U.S.
The new Armada is just a nissan patrol y62 with fender flares.
And ugly front and rear bumpers
oldemar morales it's the new 2017 Armada in the US.
This suv is in the us ,I can't find it
Wish they would keep the Y61 Patrol and Land Cruiser 80 production going.
The thing is American cars are boring
TBH, I'd go for TLC over this Nissan Patrol and I don't know why... I think I have cruiser syndrome.
Faster than a 918.
This car obvoiusly drinks like it wouldnt go that far
Just have LPG fitted
Host: “is it a worthy successor?”
Me: “F*ck no! Look how soft it’s gotten! Not to mention it’s V8 Engine has no concept of fuel economy...”
that's crazy
for $3000
I can do 45k km.
No Way it's called Nissan PATROL, there is the word patrol right after the name Nissan, cause it drinks ALOT of patrol, we have a Nissan patrol and a super charged one, the supercharged one, we pay for it atleast 6,500$ for every year
Come on, the Patrol has a 140L gas tank. That’s nearly three times more than my car.
Probably has nearly 3 times the power and weight too ! lol
