  • Method Feeder Fishing using Robin Red Pellets at Rosemary Wood Fisheries | Fishery Reviews
    Another fishery review for you this week! This ones a little bit further afield near Ormskirk, Liverpool. The fishery has been heavily requested for a review so I decided to give it a go! I'm glad we did.
    I have been told they go mad for robin red pellets here so I decided to do something a little different and use the 2mm's on the feeder.

    ** INFO UPDATE** there are a handful of carp in this lake that go to 20lb not 12lb as I was lead to believe by the old boys fishing next to us 😂😂 they just must have been unlucky regulars ! 🎣👍🏻 Tight lines everyone !

    First fishing trip today probably for over 10 years so I’ve been watching your channel for refresher tips and I’ve learnt all about the new breed of method feeders, wafters, the 4 inch hook lengths etc and I remembered your advice about always use the margins. Today picked up lots of small carp, bream, tench and even a nice roach on banded 6mm washed out wafters on the method feeder. However, when watching the rod tip a large carp appeared under the platform nosing around near the bank. I reeled the empty feeder in, the wafter was still attached to the band and I slackened the drag and dropped the wafter in front of the carp’s nose and it took it and hared off! 10 mins later after lots of runs it made it to the net and was on the bank - just into double figures on light tackle it made my day. Thanks for all the help you give us guys just to have fun out there!

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  Год назад +4

      It’s amazing how close the carp come in! They feel safe feeding right under your feet. I often do the same with the feeder only 10/20cm from the bank and you normally get a fast bite! Glad you have gained something from the videos and not only that put it into practice and been successful. It genuinely makes the videos worth while. It’s all fun , some people take fishing too seriously 🎣🐟

    So far I have only watched five of your videos and have learned so much, so thanks. Do you ever add hemp seed to your pellets? I have used hemp for 70 years now on and off depending on what fish I am targeting from roach and barbel on the Thames to bream,tench and carp in fisheries all over England and Wales. Your videos are second to none so please keep up the good work. Well done you!

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  Месяц назад

      I have tried adding hemp, but the oils stop the pellets and Groundbait working properly on the method feeder. In a cage feeder it would be fine 👌🏻🎣

    I can recommend Moss Farm Fishery in Irlam if you haven't tried it before Westy. All lakes are good but the main one I fish is Maddisons. Pegs 11/12/13 are great . Its full of decent Carp & F1s with Tench thrown in. I only fish a method feeder on here & pink waters do well. I've also had good days on bomb /pellet.
    £8 for one rod or £10 for two I think. Margins erupt mid afternoon

    There’s 2 lakes large pool moss lake I can remember getting dug out early 80s as I use to live nearby in formby there was hardly any carp in the large pool then we use to catch tench crucians bream roach perch quite a few pike as well , smaller lake was think dug out late 90s 2000 stocked with carp tench silvers , the 2 match lads Phil and Peter chuckle brothers got the lease early 2000 stocked the carp they took out most of the pike in moss pool to 28 pound they stocked the ghosties it was never run right at times like Glastonbury of a night

    I'm predominantly a match angler, been refreshing watching an angler make a decent pleasure video, asa match angler can I say, never ignore the water at you're feet, you get a lot of bait shot in at the end of matches and pleasure sessions the carp often cruise really close in, when the ponds are made, there is a shelf around the islands so they can put baskets if water plants on them, the water on they shelves warms up first and so the fish move into that water, hence catching tight to the island, dad never caught many cos he didn't try hard enough😂, really enjoyed the video, Robin reds 2mm never tried them, but in my humble opinion you mixed then incorrectly, I would recommend you watch one of the match vids, Andy may, des ship etc, copy how they do it, I would also recommend getting the hook bait in the feeder every time, believe me a carp will gulp down the feeder full in one go, you're trap has gone😂 we'll done, and I mean this, really enjoyable watch.

      Oh definitely Alan ! I learned years ago that you can get nice carp at this time of year 6-18 inches from the side of the back and under your feet. Thank you for the compliment, like you say I’m just a pleasure angler and certainly never claim to be a professional!
