    My wife and I love watching your videos. I grew up hiking, camping, fishing, etc. Same for my wife. I'm 60 now and fighting cancer and not winning. We can't go out on trips anymore, so we live vicariously through you. You've brought a lot of joy to us, especially at times when I want to just give up. Wanted you to know that your videos have changed my life, as well as my wife's life. Thanks for what you do.

      Two years ago I got in to a canoe for the first time in decades. On the second stroke I capsized, lol. The shock of hitting the cold may lake water almost got me right there, and I remember thinking in those quick seconds having a life jacket on would have been smarter. Obviously I made it, but it can happen in the blink of an eye to even the most experienced.

    Great video. It's been 40 years since I lived in Ontario. My best memories growing up are of Algonquin. Sitting on a rock at dawn with the mist rising from the lake and the call of the loons. You really have to experience it to understand it. And by the way, the image of you standing at the falls with the canoe on your back deserves to be made in
    to a print. It really is a timeless image.

    Damn girl! You're a beast (mad respect). You toss that canoe around, balance it with no hands, paddle, carry some more, then back and paddle upstream, all while filming. Very motivating, I need to grab my kayak for an adventure. You have mad skills, stay safe, and rock on!

    What is so great about a day trip like this is this part 17:20. You are the only one to see the ducks take off, any wild life and you are the only ones in the area...cool. There's only certain images that are seen, it's like they are meant just for you to see. It makes you not want to leave that spot.

    Bugs in Algonquin can drive you nuts, was up there with horses several years ago mid summer and the enormous black biting flies, like 2 inches long, were awful for the horses despite bugspray. About 40 years ago I went to summer camp and they taught us to lash our paddles in to the cross members to portage, those heavy old canvas canoes with 2 little kids staggering along trying to carry them. Have not been in a canoe since lol.

    That’s Okanogan park right? Beautiful I’m sure, I’ve seen so many people post on RUclips about it.
    I’m in Manitoba and at the Ontario border there is a similar place starting at Caddy lake, canoe under rock tunnels to the next lave and there are camping spots along the way also with a number of lakes to portage to.
    I really want to go back there again for a few days.

    Great to see you back in the woods surrounded by beautiful scenery. Just a comment, and I speak from experience. You might like to consider tieing your canoe front , back & sides. If you have to slam your brakes on, that canoe would fly off no problem. I saw it happen in high winds and heavy traffic. The canoe was a write-off. Happy paddleing

    • @careenaalexis
      @careenaalexis  3 месяца назад +1

      3 Points of contact is most recommended, the belly straps are very tight, and with the shape of the canoe the front belly strap would completely prevent the canoe from moving forward. I'm sure some canoes maybe are different though. This canoe is feather light as well, not a lot of momentum to move around with it lol. Never had any issues. I'm sure this is great advice for some other types of canoes out there tho! Thanks!
