    Very nice presentation. Taking the process all the way through the glaze fire is ideal. Thank you from California

      Thank you Sandi. The initial difficulties come from learning a new thing, our brain and bodies have to rewire. After many repetitions, everything is easy

    Beautiful! Are they always shallow? Is there a typical depth to bonsai ratio?

    • @gaeangardensbyizabela
      @gaeangardensbyizabela  2 года назад +1

      Hello Tania, yes they are shallow bc the bonsai technique means controling the root mass to keep the tree miniature.
      The general rule for depth is that the depth of the pot is a diamater of the trunk, just above the soil level, however it also depends on the stage of tree's development. In the case of my black pot for thuja tree, I'm still developing the tree and want to thicken the trunk, so I'm making pot a bit bigger to have more rooms for roots. Eventually these roots will be pruned and the tree will go to the shallower pot. Does that make sense?
