My name is Izabela, welcome to my channel.
In videos here, I teach the many trade tricks and secrets I've learned in my life time journey with clay. Do you like watching pottery making process and inspirational ideas, bonsai life style and interviews with interesting people? If yes, you will feel at home here.
What started as a small fun project, now became one of my favourite things. I design, film and edit the videos myself. Some videos take me a year to complete due to the long process of working with clay.
At Gaean Gardens we cultivate life experiences that are enriching and beneficial to our planet and all of her sentient beings.
Thank you so much for your support!

Life is a practice- talk with Tara, a potter of 22 years who gives herself grace
Tara's energy is joyful, energized, authentic. It is refreshing talking to her as she is an attentive listener and a great storyteller. Here she's sharing some of the stories of clay in her life, how it all started and what lessons she's learned from it. We can all learn about self- acceptance from Tara, a mom of 5 who balances through life with grace.
Tara is a person who brought me back to pottery after a break of few years. She is the person who taught me about firing, glazing, waxing and so many tricks that I am sharing here, on youtube. Now I wanted to talk to her on camera to show everyone how awesome she is. I am so blessed to have a wonderful, life long friend in Tara. In her pres...

Ultimate Glaze Test Tile Design & Display

Over the years of pottery, I developed the best glaze tile design. It shows all the behaviours of the glaze I want to see: - vertical behaviour and running - pooling - raised texture - carved texture - breaking over the edge - smooth surface This design is not only covering all the basics, it is meant to be displayed in a very practical and stylish way using refurbished picture frame and chicke...
Painting with acrylic paint on a fabric of a hoodie for myself to wear

I'm preparing for my first calligraphy and painting show on my 46th birthday, and to celebrate this special occasion, I made a piece of clothing for myself to wear. I used acrylic paint and Chinese Ink, both mixed with Americana Fabric Medium, which allows for the colours to stay on fabric and not wash off. The hoodie is a cotton mix from Micheals Craft store. It was a fun little project that t...

Peacock in Watercolour- meditative viewing of the painting process Enjoy the mesmerizing process of painting a peacock in watercolour. When I watch this, I can not believe my hands did that and I can not say I have painted this, as this has come from something much bigger than me. What a wonderful discussion!!!
Amazingggg!! ❤❤
I like how you you tell him "Don't try, just send it." Also, he could put clear grip tape over the "resolve" section. That should protect it further.
@t3dwards13 Thank you! yes, never try, just do it or not, he knows lol He did put the clear grip tape eventually
Excellent interview!!!
@@growclipbonsaiforseniors1951 thank you, Tom!

Thank you for your reply Regards David
Hi just seen your video on making a large oval bonsai pot that looks fantastic what clay do you use and Do you need to put it in a kiln I would love to make one but don’t have a kiln Kind regards David from England
@davidhughes4020 hi David, in my video description you can read what clay I used, it's cone 6 stoneware, it does need to be fired. If you don't have a kiln you can look for a place to fire it for you, local community club or private places. Look up kiln space for rent, there's a website that shows local places, good luck!
I am simply loving the joy of each revelation as you are unloading, I have happy tears . Thanks beautiful people 🙏🏼🌈🎶

Excellent display tiles. Cool colors.
Glad you like them!
Cool designs in these display tiles. Izabela you make a great teacher. Very interesting video on what you do. Excellent!
thank you, Tom!
Those are cool tiles. I bet you could use one for a mini bonsai pot. A super mini. Great colors on them.
thank you!!! Yes, it would be fun, but it would need feet and texture on the outside not inside
Brilliant idea!!! Looks like you had fun on this one!
Yes, lots of fun, glad you can tell :)
Fabulous work!!! I'm curious how permanent it will be.
Thank you!!! I haven't washed it yet, but I have washed my other T-shirts and they held up quite well

@growclipbonsaiforseniors1951 glad you liked it, Tom!
Foist to like!!!
Gorgeous!!! Did you use a reference photo? Or from memory?
@t3dwards13 thank you! I did use some reference and some make up, the photo was of the bird and two seperate pictures of the fruit and flower from suicide fruit tree. In the photo the bird was not eating the fruit or sitting on the tree so it was a combination of imagination and reference photos
Thats so beautiful! I wish i could get into pottery. Is it difficult to learn?
@jennevakanis18 I'd say if you want to learn it means it's calling to you and you will enjoy learning. This kind of dish is super easy to make. Of course, refinement takes practice, but to start you can self- learn from youtube, find somewhere to fire your pieces and understand how this process work. Good luck and hope you get to try it!
@@gaeangardensbyizabela thanks I hope to try soon!
Cool video. You are the master!
@@growclipbonsaiforseniors1951 thank you, Tom!
I like how positive this unloading is! Love the little bonsai dishes!
@threelittlepotters that's an attitude I developed over the years, it's more helpful for sure. Glad you enjoyed it! Just subscribed to your channel, I'm looking forward to watching your content
@@gaeangardensbyizabela Thank you so much for subscribing! I definitely feel the positivity of that attitude. I imagine as a student, it would make you very reassured to take risks and grow. I hope that if I get to teach classes in the future I can embody some of that.
@threelittlepotters oh yes, thank you for sharing this. When people learn new skill they are often very critical of themselves so if we can encourage them and show them how amazing it is that they had tried something new it makes it a more success process for everyone 💜
Wonderful work. I have one doubt: can we use a terracotta pot for planting without firing? I made one by myself but don't have access to a kiln. Can I use it for planting if I prime the air-dried terracotta pot with GESSO and paint some acrylic on it?
@HarusaiBonsai good question: what kind of clay did you use? If the clay is meant for firing- stoneware or earthenware, then I don't think it would hold itself even with acrylic paint because the water will seep into it and simply soften it back again. But if you used some sort of air dry clay, than I'm not sure, as I never worked with them, but perhaps you have some chance? If you'd like to fire it, search for local workshops, pottery stores, community groups and see if anyone can fire it for you. I believe there's a website where you can search for kilns to rent: kilnshare or something like that
@@gaeangardensbyizabela Thank you so much for reading my query and clearing my doubts. I used earthenware clay. This means I must fire it. I will search for a kiln in my locality. Once again, thank you.
@HarusaiBonsai you're very welcome, hope you find it and let me know how it goes. It's well worth firing it and having a great pot since you have made it yourself
@@gaeangardensbyizabela Yes, that's true. I will definitely share the update on it. Thank you.
