My name is Izabela, welcome to my channel.
In videos here, I teach the many trade tricks and secrets I've learned in my life time journey with clay. Do you like watching pottery making process and inspirational ideas, bonsai life style and interviews with interesting people? If yes, you will feel at home here.
What started as a small fun project, now became one of my favourite things. I design, film and edit the videos myself. Some videos take me a year to complete due to the long process of working with clay.
At Gaean Gardens we cultivate life experiences that are enriching and beneficial to our planet and all of her sentient beings.
Thank you so much for your support!

This is the first time I am going to leave my stoneware pots outside in the winter and I hope they will not crack, as some of them are quite precious! Rock garden planting + scented geranium cuttings

Join me in today as I am playing with rocks and plants creating a fun composition. When the cooler months come, I am drawn more into indoor plants and love to surround myself with greenery. This simple composition is so easy, anyone can make it! I am also planting a new plant to me: scented geranium, also known as mosquito plant. I found unusual uses for the leaves and am quite enjoying it!

@growclipbonsaiforseniors1951 thank you so much, Tomasz!
Wow! It is nice the way you have organized the work area. Now if I could do that for myself. Really cool what you have done and love the videos.
@growclipbonsaiforseniors1951 glad you liked it, it feels good!
What do you think of an exhaust system to remove the fumes? What about opening a window for 20 minutes with a fan to blow out fumes and particles everyday? Just wondering what you can do to eliminate the particles and fumes. Or. An outdoor shed to store all the clay and paint, etc., that way the work area is clean and free. Only time items brought in is to make the pots and paint them. Just a thought.
Wow, the studio looks fantastic, so wonderful and have a great 2025!!!!

@@n8tyler thank you for your kindness, I'm doing much better
Can this be used with air dry clay?
@nancyh9125 I'm sorry but I don't have experience working with air dry clay. The best would to be to try and make it into a liquid form to see how it behaves and if you can make it cream like- then you should be able to decorate with it like with a regular slip
I really couldn't learn, but I did enjoy watching. As a beginner I don't know what type of clay is used or even the name. Is that store bought clay or can it be made? A better name for this video: Watch me make a bonsai pot.
I'm sorry to hear you don't feel it was educational for you. I'm glad you enjoyed watching it. Sometimes we pick up more from watching the process than we realize. Thank you for your question: the name of the clay is shared in the description of the video. If you don't mind sharing, I'd love to hear how I can improve my tutorials so you feel you learned better. Thank you!

@n8tyler thank you so much for watching and your words of encouragement and support! Yes, I do wish to give back to the craft, as I have recieved so much from it
Happy 2025. Nice ending for a cold day here in the windy city.
Happy 2025, Tomasz!
Have you ever tried to make a min bonsai pot with one of those letters on it? Just a thought.
Nigel is the master of mini bonsai pots, I don't think I'll ever go for it!
OMG!!! Your talet in making these letters is really great. Very enjoyable. I bet you can make a pot and put the lettering on it. I always watch to the end.
Thank you so much for watching till the end! This character means In- in the case of my words it was to be IN the NOW. It would be pretty cool as a single character, good idea!
Im so happy too, you didn’t delete it. This is just in time for me, thank you for sharing!
oh no way! Thank you so much for telling me this, I'm so glad you needed it and found it :) Enjoy your sgrafitto journey, all the best
Such a great and generous idea, understanding that new students need a visual cue to help them visualize the finished surface...The greens are very nice, my favorite color...So interesting how the glazes interact with the different clays and how it breaks...Seems like this innovation form has all the bases covered...I loved watching you do this, especially making the little bowels...A very cool video...Thanks for sharing...
You are very welcome and thank you for watching and learning about this process. It was a cool process to explore and I'm glad it inspired some people to try it too. Yes, I love my green glaze, it's one of my favourites, and it's a no fail glaze too.
A new approach! Mindfulness! Being present in the moment! Taking care of not only your mind but the needs of your physical being! Experiencing new things...A happy coincidence...B-O-N-S-A-I spells patience...Happy hands! Wishing you continued success and happiness...
Bonsai- lots of patience, perseverance, discipline, and the rewards are unmeasurable. Being present is the best gift we can receive
My hopes are that you can find that place were your happiness abounds, where your creative spirit soars and where you find peace and joy in your heart...Thanks for all you do...
that is such a sweet blessing, thank you! May you find peace and joy in your heart as well!
Look at that smile...Happiness...Step-hopping, 180's, Kick-turns...Happiness comes from the most unlikely places...Finding beauty in what is around you...What a tease, I though you were going to try the stairs...A beautiful day in the park...Freedom reigns...So nice to see you happy and content...Thanks for sharing this adventure...
I know!!! I was teased myself, I wish I had the skills and courage to do the stairs, but I was respecting my body. After the fall (which is in the other video from Poland) everything hurt and actually this injury took months to heal. Now I'm good but I'm still to scared to ride off tall edges. I'm not losing hope yet, but perhaps if I train well I can still do it! Thank you for enjoying my adventure, it was a special one
Oh my gosh, you do know that dragons love turtles...Their motto is 'Crunchy on the outside, gooey on the inside'...Here's hoping you keep 'Puff' well fed...
haha, I should keep them away from each other, my pots are attacking! But for real, they are guardians and can hold their own pretty well. Do not underestimate the power of a turtle ;)
Excellent, motto, especially for this video/pot...
I aim to live by it :)
Very nice, the pot turned out do well and the burning bush is going to look marvelous with the Burning Bush in Autumn...I also like having accent plant right in the pot with the main tree...Looks very nice...Thanks, looking forward to seeing this tree turn colors in you beautiful pot...
So sad, I have lost my burning bush this year due to the fact I stored it in the garage over winter because I didn't want the pot to crack... Then when it went out in the spring, it couldn't handle the mildest frost... This year I'm keeping all my pots outside for the winter, it's much better for my trees
@@gaeangardensbyizabela I'm sorry...It was beautify tree...Start another...You deserve to have more beauty in your life...
Interesting information about the drying and waxing process...Really enjoy the narrative process that you are using during these videos...So much involved in running kiln but what results! Oh, there's the ORCA, so nice...Thanks for showing the un-kilning...
Good eye to spot the orca, it indeed holds special energy. You're welcome and thank you for watching!
An amazing process of creation...Really, really nice...My mind is shooting forward to trying to figure out what kind of tree that you are going to use for this 'Root Over Turtle' Bonsai...Maybe a Ivy with the turtle peaking out from underneath...Looking forward to seeing what you come up with...The wolf has so much detail but the Orca is really cool, maybe my favorite thing you've made so far, so shiny and smooth, you captured the essence of the whale and the wolf for that matter...Thanks for sharing...
It is revealed in the next videos, I like your ideas though! Probably would be way easier then what I have undertaken. Especially that I have so much ivy growing around. Oh yes, this orca is a very special talisman for my daughter. She really enjoys it, thank you!
Nice...Look at that smile...I would kill myself on a skateboard...I would make my video with a walker(and training wheels with paramedics standing by), TFS...;-)
Oh that's too funny, I fell so many times before I learned to stand on it, it was worth it!
Very well thought out construction, I wonder if it would work to fill the pot with beans or small gravel to give the base a uniform place to rest...Hmmm, flipping over may be problematic if the 'fill' is to heavy...Looking forward to the turtle creation...Thanks for another interesting video Izabela...
so far it's working quite good even though I'm not sure if I planted the trees well for root over rock technique, but hey, it's my first try at it. The trees are enjoying it so far, it dries very fast though and has to be watered frequently
The Maple forest and pot look really nice, must be very nice in Autumn...A very nice collection that you have put together, all in your amazing pots and to boot with birds chirping in the background, so serene and peaceful...Thanks for sharing...
You're very welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed watching. The maples are amazing in the spring and in the fall, I love their colours
Beautiful pieces!
@@AudreyLynnStudios they sure are!
I assume this is your son? A wonderful pianist...Starts off crisp, then melanic, then serene, then dramatic, a journey within itself...Very nice, very talented...Thanks for sharing...
thank you so much! Yes, it's my oldest son, Ben. He is a pianist, we are so blessed. Piano and bonsai, life is good!
Cool...So this is a Dragon pot...I love it and the San Jose Juniper turned out beautifully...Your talents abound...So wonderful...Thanks for sharing...
Thank you, yes, the dragon pot, I didn't film making it unfortunately, but here it is. And the juniper is loving this pot. I find all my trees in slightly bigger pots do much better. I am still very new to bonsai so I don't think I am capable of carrying for them in the shallow pots very well yet. That's why I love those deeper, Chinese Courtyard style pots
I'm watching this again because I believe that this is something I would like to learn and seems like with time and experience I might be capable of eventually creating a unique and beautiful pot...I first have to find someone with a kiln or the journey would not be fulfilled...Thanks for inspiration Izabela...
I believe you already found someone with the kiln- me! Lol. I am so glad to hear you are becoming more and more interested and believe you can make it. I think you can totally make it and would enjoy it tremendously. If you can get through watching a full video, you're already drawn to it, which means the clay is calling you!
Crazy kids again! Always pushing those boundaries, so important in life, to test oneself, and when you fail, get up and challenge yourself again...This is how growth of the human experience evolves...Well done Izabela and thanks for sharing your experience...
@n8tyler thank you, Nathan! I did learn a lot from skateboarding. It helped me with life in general and my growth.
Amazing recovery of these items, although my untrained eye liked them before your recovery work...They did come out nicely...Thanks for sharing...
It was not a really spectacular change, but it made me like them a bit more after second firing
I LOVE THIS POT!!! It's round, it has angled sides, it appears to be between 10-12-14 inches, a good pot for a Maple to grow into...Beautiful color that would accentuate for fall colors of a Amur of Vine Maple and look at those indicate/unique feet...I love the semi-textured sides(Brushed?) and multi color variables...An amazing finished pot...Thanks so much for sharing Izabela...
@n8tyler glad you like this, I can try to replicate this one if you'd like. I still have this glaze, it's called acadama from Mayco glazes. The sides are not even textured, but the glaze breaks so well on the clay, making it look very interesting. It's made out of red stoneware and I stamped the feet. You're right, this is a lovely design! I forgot about it actually, but I was thinking about making more of this style pots bc they were quite popular. Thank you for bringing my attention to it!
@@gaeangardensbyizabela So I have been working through which of my future trees would potentially be appropriate for the pot...Based on your discussion with Nigel, I like the idea of tree growing up in the pot(I learn something from Nigel each time I hear him speak)...I have some Maples to choose from and think that one might look very good in this pot in 3-4 years...Do you remember the dimensions of this pot? I love the glaze and shape...
