Show made me recognize how beautiful life can be when I was going through depression. The appreciation I have for this series is nuts. I personally think it is the best story I’ve ever encountered, and I read/watch a lot of stories. When I was at my lowest, this show presented me with an amazing piece of artwork that inspired and motivated me in its messaging.

This story was beautiful, in sorry what happened to you happened but as I see it, you became a stronger person and that is a wonderful transformation. Take these interests/love for these worlds in anime and shows and allow them to bring you a new perspectives and wonderful fun. I myself can relate for what I do is draw characters within some worlds or hell, even just think of them. I love making stories and storyboarding ideas together along with world crafting. It will be a joy I continue to cherish and I hope anime will continue to hold a strong sentiment to you and impact you in a positive way! ❤

I started about the same time you did, mid September 2023. I can't say One Piece saved me from a dark place or anything but the way it consumed my life for 3.5 months and still captivates me every Saturday night is unlike anything I've ever experienced. It's my first anime and boy I'm glad I picked this one. Ever since I started playing video games, over 15 years ago, I had never gone a full week without playing them unless I was on vacation somewhere. During Marineford, I had such a hard time putting my phone down that when I looked up and realized it had been 6 days since I even turned on my Xbox, I was shocked. And yet, I didn't care. So I went one more day. It's crazy, it's like nothing else is even worth watching anymore. I remember how good Across the Spiderverse was, and how sad I was that it was over and I had to wait another 3-4 years to continue the story or wait several months to watch it again. And now, even though it's been out on streaming services, I still haven't watched it and I'm not sure if I even will any time soon. I watched Jujutsu Kaisen though. Just saw one too many manga spoilers which killed my motivation to finish it. But yeah, One Piece absolutely changed my life and I just can't believe the story I've been waiting for all my life is a story with over 1000 episodes of a group of friends sailing around fighting bad guys. So simple, and yet, it's everything I've ever wanted and everything I'll ever need in terms of storytelling

    • @JamescraftAim
      @JamescraftAim Месяц назад

I started around the same time also. One piece is honestly not just a journey for the characters but a journey of us with them.
They feel like our best friends. We learn every little part of there personality and feel what they feel alongside them. Its a story that isn't just good but alive.
I can't name another show or story that's been able to ever do that.
Im still far from current (episode 373 as of writing this which is about the end of thriller bark) and I love this show so much.... I have a lot more to watch but at the same time Im glad cause it means more time with these amazing friends I've been with.

one piece saved my life man. amazing video. i was in 6th or 7th grade n couldn’t stand my life every day was a perpetual cycle of depression and anxiety. but one piece always made me laugh, always made me smile. i had that same eureka moment as you, looking at my life from a different angle. i figured if we just live to die and never know when death is lurking around the corner, then why stress? why worry? life is going to carry on, so i made myself into the best person i could be every day. so then at the very least i could make others happy like luffy. he was my only role model i had as a kid. i am so happy i started watching the show. i used to think i wouldn’t live past 18, but i’m 21 now n every day i am just happy to wake up. i read a post today and to sum it up: yes all of those bad experiences happened but i lived through it, to see better days. my future self, me today, looks back onto my younger self with such compassion and yearning to help. me today thanks my younger self for genuinely giving myself a chance to try at life.

I can relate to this, I started watching one piece around 2 years and 2 months ago when i was turning 12 in 2022, and that time i had a abusive father which got him to force me to stop watching one piece through his words and physical abuse...until i reached 2023 when i started my high school year and the at the time my mom and my father finally divorced so i didn't have to ever talk or see my father again...but at the time i went through puberty and gained depression...anxiety...suicidal thoughts...trauma...and regretting crap i did during my primary school years...at the time i didn't have much to do during my spare time...and i left one piece at the beginning of Arlong park...so i started at Arlong park and from then all the way to Wano arc at the time before the gear 5 episodes came out...and during the time my favorite moment even until now was robin "I want to live: moment because from Arlong park till then i already felt like i was actually witnessing the events in one piece happen like as if i am there...and also the time i first saw the robin "I want to live" moment i felt like it was the anime telling me to continue living since i could never know what huge positive thing or change in my life happen if i commit suicide...Which made me cry of Joy...and one piece was the reason why i have gained my smile...If i never watched one piece i wouldn't be alive right now...

I too found one piece right as everything in my life hit the fan. i grew up watchin anime, back when no one knew what it was- unless you stayed up till 3am. and I remember watching one piece when it aired for the first time and thinking, nahhhh I don't like the art.
But 2 decades later I found it right as a best friend left, I had to leave my job of 8 years only to take on a new job that is like 12 hours a day, my dad died, my basement keeps flooding, my health is tanking, and now i'm leaving a second job....
but luffy making me laugh has kept me floating. it gets better. the best is yet to come.

Started around January 2024 it was a few days after new year's, and I had just been feeling very alone in life and felt I needed to start something that I could do to distract myself. So, I picked up one piece thinking I had a ton of time since it was still Christmas break, and I could always stop it if I felt bored and just quit and try something else. I had already watched some anime before, so it wasn't new to me either. I started the series and immediately felt connected to each of the characters. People hate on one piece because it's so long, but that is one of the greatest things about the show. Oda takes a lot of time developing his characters, and now, I'm well into Wano at episode 928 haha. It's only been about 8 months as well. I guess that just goes to show how much I love this show. I mean no other show, movie, or book has made me cry as much as this one. I love this show and this crew I've been adventuring with for these past 8 months, and I'm definitely in a better place than I was. Glad you started this show man have a good day to anyone reading this! (there was no need to type this, but its midnight and I have nothing to do lol and I've already watched like 10 episodes 💀)

Bro I can't tell you enough how much I relate to your feelings of how one piece changed my life. Not in the same way but around the time i got to sabaody archipelago my relationship with my girlfriend was getting rocky and I could tell things weren't gonna end well. Around when we broke up I watched the episode where ace died but it was so much going on at once I didn't shed a single tear until jimbei was trying to set luffy straight after his violent outburst by asking him what he had and as he started to tear up and list his friends' names I too started to tear up and eventually bawl my eyes out. Because sure I did break up with my girlfriend of almost 2 years just recently but watched one of the saddest anime deaths around the same time and yet, like luffy, I needed to remember what I had. My friends. One piece has helped me more than anything arguably and now I'm caught up with the manga while also in a much healthier, much happier relationship with the love of my life. This series has taught me so many lessons and so many values, but the most important one is to live life to it's fullest and never give up on my dreams.

I started watching One Piece shortly before you started watching it too! I'm currently in the middle of Dressrosa and I can personally relate heavily to how difficult it is to make it sound plausible that it's a great anime to people who think it's garbage when it really is not (they probably just haven't ever watched anime). It's a truly amazing, iconic and an icon for the genre overall. I still have an incredibly eclectic amount of anime's that I really want to watch but only not until I finish One Piece in more than a year in the future lmao.

I moved to Japan 12 years ago but never really got into anime as crazy as that sounds... I used to hate on One Piece because it was everywhere. Last year, a few of my friends started playing the card game, and it was actually really fun. I told my wife maybe we should try watching the anime, so we did, and we were hooked! It changed my outlook on life too, and definitely helped how I see things. It also opened me up to watching other anime like Demon Slayer, and now I feel like holy crap I have been missing out on all these good shows lol.

Just after I started watching One Piece my manager started making my life hell and this is a job that I love doing. Watching One Piece before work and seeing how resilient the straw hat crew was, Luffy in particular, even when things seem impossible gave me the strength to endure that hell until she finally got canned for her behavior. It was rough as hell but I'm a stronger person now because of it, instead of being bitter or resentful I look at how Luffy would.

The reason why i love One Piece is during school i spent most of my time i spent my time with “friends” who didn’t care about me i was always the silent one in the group that got often ignored around the end through connections I found people that also enjoy one piece and now i have friends who I trust and don’t ignore me and because of these new friends i also became more religious because of those friends and also my grades improved so because of One Piece my life in school improved drastically

Just really well told, can't change certain things. So act within what you can change.
And funny enough, then it happens we can change our own state.

I was born with damaged lungs, chronic cough and partial functioning pancreas. I was a shy, out of place kid wondering if I would live long enough all the time as doctor's stated my life may not sustain long. I was 14 when I found One Piece it changed me from deep inside and taught ne what freedom truly is. I cried at several moments in the anime and not at emotional but the happy parties at the end of every arc because it gave me joy that I can experience something so awesome in my short lifespan

I couldn’t agree with you more. My parents got divorced a few years ago and I had the same feelings as you did. It made me devastated and I didn’t know what to do about it. Although you had a different situation with your journey in one piece, I fully agree with you. One Piece makes you feel many emotions and makes you feel as if you were part of the journey itself…though, in the same way you are. I started watching one piece in the beginning of this year…. all I will say is that was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Right now one piece is the only thing that keeps me alive, im struggling with depression for over 4years now and one piece is the only thing that I'm waiting and looking forward to every week. For those 4years one piece was with me and it made me smile every time i watched new episode it really does make my days better and somehow worth to live trough, i also realized a lot of things about myself and my life because of one piece. Im just hoping that when the one piece ends i will finally have a purpose in life and something other to live for. One piece is truly a masterpiece and im so greatfull that i decided to watch it its kinda silly but i probably wouldn't be commenting this rn if i never got the motivation to watch it.

The funny thing about one piece is that the amount of episodes scares a lot away. But after that first episode,
after the first few arcs, you start to understand why the company continued producing such a show.
More and more it tops itself making even some weaker arcs a blast to watch.
Its (to my knowledge) the only show that was given a shot to become a modern epic.
There probably will never be another show like One Piece.
Im currently only on episode 373 or almost finished Thriller Bark and I still gotta lot to go but Ive loved and will
most likely continue to love every moment in it. Ive spent so much time with these characters that they feel real.
They're like my best friends that aren't there.
Best of lucks in your future.

I don't know how far you are yet, but one of my favorite lines from Luffy is at Fish-men Island. He gets asked if he's a bad man because he's a pirate. He thinks for a second and just says, "Hmmm, I don't know. You decide." And that mentality of letting your actions speak for who you are as a person is one of the reasons I love Luffy and One Piece so much.
