    • @MirrorminD1989

Fear and frustration, yes! I learned this in therapy. Many men are desperate for love, caring and intimacy. The one's who can't accept their inner needs and emotions, are usually the one's who get agressive and violent towards women. They have a deep fear of being rejected, left alone or hurted, that's why they seek control and power so nobody can challenge their self-esteem (which basically is low). Secure and mature men, don't even have to think about controlling someone, 'cause ppl who respect themselves do respect others as well, especially women.

If you think about it rationally, a country that doesn't allow 50% of it's population from contributing to it's economy will absolutely be behind another country that does allow it, unless and until the former has a monopoly on some vital resource. All very intelligent and matriarchal species, also the females outlive the males quite substantially. Scientist theorize this could be because our species rely on the teachings of women, especially older women. Evolutionarily, it is more beneficial to have the older women stop giving birth and take up teaching and leading, rather than risk her wealth of knowledge and experience potential dying in birthing children with an older body. It is also not as evolutionarily beneficial for the males to survive into old age and spread their wisdom, and thus the males of these species all die younger than the females

Some men don't like hearing this; but women are the most important part of any society. The men often get so caught up in what is "manly" and what isn't, that everything falls apart if women aren't there to pick up the pieces behind the scenes. I was horrified when my best friend told me about his mother in Pakistan. She was playing with friends, aged 14, when her father came to her and announced that she was marrying the next day. He had effectively sold her to a man almost 20 years older than her. She had her first of 8 children when she was 15. She suffered domestic violence and poverty, and one day, her husband did not come home. He had married a 2nd wife and moved into a house that was part of her bride price. The first wife was left destitute, with eight children and a family that did not care.
When my friend told me, I cried. I had spent my 35-year career teaching in a girls' school here in England. Looking back, many of my female colleagues did little to change the then status quo for girls. They were successful and thought that if they could succeed, then any woman could succeed. They were blinkered. As a man, seeing their situation from the outside, I knew this was very wrong, and I spent my energies teaching my students how to be assertive, how important their role in society should be, and that they should never feel that they couldn't do something just because they were female. There is still a way to go, but I look back with pride in my role in supporting the rights of all people to be treated equally.

Sexism in non-Abrahamic religions often manifests through doctrines and practices that subordinate women. For instance, in certain interpretations of Jainism, women are deemed incapable of achieving spiritual liberation without first being reborn as men, reflecting a belief in their inherent spiritual inferiority. Similarly, some Buddhist traditions have historically restricted women's access to full ordination, limiting their roles within monastic communities. In Hinduism, texts like the Manusmriti prescribe a patriarchal social order, emphasizing women's subordination to men throughout their lives. These examples illustrate how religious doctrines can perpetuate gender inequalities.

@ the mother has an active role in deciding which father and what society her child is going to grow up with. Of course this comes with limitations in certain cultures but in general (!) it is wrong to portray the mother as a passive and helpless party in a son’s life. That’s one of the many reasons that superficial “awareness” doesn’t work if all we do is hold only the fathers and men accountable.

Men (specifically men in many of these oppressive countries) should learn to be better men and stop oppressing women. A lot of these men, I’m sure were raised by decent mothers who gave them what they needed to survive because theses countries often put males over females and we see that in how male offsprings are raised compare to female offspring.

@ and that’s were you are wrong, mother and father both teach their kids what they were taught and mothers, on average, have the biggest influence on a child development since they, again, on average, spend more time with their kids than their fathers. They play a crucial role in a child’s development of morale and empathy. I can speak from experience that it’s often mothers as well who do their fair share in letting boys be boys and girls be “what is expected of a woman”. If you grew up in a western household or a household that is heavily influenced by those progressive standards, then you know fairly little about certain cultural dynamics here. It shows in your naive take on this topic. I’ve heard way too many stories about how mothers supported a patriarchal system, how mothers would send their sons out to bring the daughters back home from a party, with force if they must, how mothers would silently support “honor” k!llings of girls who misbehave, I could go on for ever.
To exclude mothers and women in general from this conversation is a grave mistake and one of the biggest reasons why we seem to barely make any progress in this.
All humans shape the future of humanity through their children so all humans, regardless of gender, are responsible.

    • @kaylataylor4397
      @kaylataylor4397 5 дней назад

@@Reckoning2943 Im going to go back on what I said then, your statement that “mothers should do their hardest” doesn’t sit right with me. I agree that both parents influence their children but in society when a child grows up to be a criminal, 9 times out of 10 the blame isn’t equally shared and the mother is held at fault. Also, the reason why so many women do their fair share of letting “boys be boys” often stems from the patriarchal system of many societies and households. Not excusing these women but I’m just saying that they are in a way conditioned to think this way. Also, when it comes to the oppression of women in these countries, I believe men are mostly responsible. Honor killings and other sorts of backwards traditions aren’t “silently supported” by women, these women are extremely brainwashed and also, what can they even do? If they speak up they’ll also get killed.

ok big emotional rant coming ahead.
in india we follow a culture where women are the ones that pay dowry and men are gold digggers. it has systematically caused indian women's societal status to deplete, it has lead to mass female infanticide and femicide because daughters were made out to be a big financial liability and having a son was like winning a lottery, you get paid for it, you get a free maid for a lifetime, people used to burn down women in india over not getting a fridge or a tv till the late 2000s. it was so bad that indian goverment had to ban knowing the gender of the baby because as SOON AS people found out it was a girl, they would abort. this led to a gender imbalance too. even tilll this day women are treated like liability in india and men ike kings/
and guess what, 90% indian men and their families are still all about wanting dowry and putting women's parents under financial debt. they do not value the fact that women leave their homes to serve man and his parents, give their youth, labour and body. this is also why i was/am obsessed with marrying OUT of indian culture.
i guess i will just also leave out cultures where men pay dowry bc that also involves violance against women. that leaves me with...NOTHING. no eastern culture treats women like humans? fine. i will not get married.

Yes but the fragile state and the suppression of women bring more power to those few men who stand on the top of these societies, so technically they can do whatever they want and that is not possible in any other form of society. And these 'fragile' societies are based on the deepest human instincts. The leaders have infinite power, the oppressed people fight for survival. They are able to function in an animalistic way.
Of course they depend on more economically developed countries because their own country is not able to provide them what they need. But until they have the money they can buy themselves the highest quality of products and services from foreign countries who are willing to sell it to them because money talks. So this elite minority lives an excellent life because they take everything from their own people who have nothing and they do business with foreign democratic countries because money speaks the same language all over the world.

Most abusive societies embrace one truth while ignoring others, and both first and third world countries do this. Failing to hold men AND women accountable for abuse fails everyone, and both men and women have a responsibility to hold ourselves and each other accountable. The "standard" isn't just whatever we want, it's our lives and the life we help create.
Many third world countries understand this on some level but find excuses to put the full burden of life on women. First world countries do this too, but men will periodically take the burden themselves and do incredible or terrible things with it, while providing for women to varying degrees before putting it back on us, often leaving us confused about what took place and what to do next. This is then used as justification for our inferiority and the cycle repeats.
When men step up at all, the quality of life improves for everyone but this isn't proof of women's worthlessness, only that men must also bear responsibility for life. Many men in first world countries play the "game" of improving life, while still ensuring abusive practices remain, constantly challenging women to challenge them on these issues to improve life further.

I'd argue that the biggest reason misogyny and other prejudices still exist, is due to a complete lack of Justice. But the higher ups like the chaos, cause it helps them stay on top. Think about it. If men who @bused women and little girls got actual consequences for their actions (all of them, not just a few), misogyny would soon start to disappear. If immigrants who commit crimes & people who commit crimes against immigrants actually faced consequences, racism would also slowly start to disappear. Lack of justice and immediate consequences (even for smaller things, such as bullying) leads to anger & a feeling of doom & helplessness. It leads to chaos and prejudices.
