This is part 1 of our memorial weekend trip down into the Ouachita National Forest. The Ouachitas contain an expansive number of roads most of which are simple timber and hunting access roads. If you know where to look though there are some incredible hidden gems in the Ouachitas.

It's very fortunate that I found your channel. I didn't know about that beautiful lake nimrod. I'm about a hour away from it. Probably going to check it out next weekend.

It’s a neat little lake. Supposed to be good fishing.

I'm building my own rig right now out of a 2500. Is there anything you wish you would have done different with the camper set up? I would love to pick your brain sometime. haha

There are a couple things. I would probably do the tongue a little different and make it a few inches shorter if I did it again. I would also not try to insulate the inside of the doors with spray foam, it creates water drainage issues that I didn't think about originally. Other than that I'm super happy with the setup. The biggest problem is it's heavy and there's no getting around that.

Great channel. Just started watching your videos today. I have a 2000 suburban also. I use it for camping. May I ask what do you use for a gas tank skid plate? or do you have one ? The places you go looks like you would need one. You sure know how to drive that suburban off road. Great channel.

I don't have one, it's always been a concern but I've never had the time or money to do anything about it. I think Baseline just came out with or is coming out with a full skid plate kit for this generation.

The 6.0 swap seems to be working good now! Was it worth it? Would you recommend it? Would you do it again? God bless!

Those are good questions. I'll probably make a video about the pros and cons at some point. For me it was worth it but that's partially because I had everything sitting around that I needed for it. I might do it again but it depends on the situation.
