Being a father is the best. Teaching our children how to be resilient is a crucial part of being a father, and camping (especially backpacking!) is the best way to teach kids how to be resilient.
I’d say you’re a great dad and your daughter is lucky to have you showing her how the world really works.

Thanks for sharing this video! I want to take my family to Dinosaur Valley soon. They love dinosaurs and to spot tracks/fossils would be stinkin’ awesome.

Just got back with my two daughters from our 3 night trip to Dinosaur Valley. Had a great time. Was kinda irked we hiked by one of the primitive sites and saw someone recently had started a campfire. It was a good teaching lesson to follow the rules of the park.

There was some evidence of a fire at our site, too. 🤦‍♂️

We did the exact same thing looking for the new tracks! haha The girls were exhausted after that hike.
