This condition is giving me anxiety I feel like I'm drowning in an ocean of phlegm , this video is the best on the subject
Try stopping dairy. Avoid milk, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, pizza because of the cheese. It will help.
Looking back at this post I feel like I was actually suffering from covid 19 unknowingly because I actually lost my sense of smell and taste
Joey M did you figure out what it was? I’m trying to figure it out for myself
@@jbcali1274 how are you? Did your symptoms go away?
I feel same way can’t breath
Hi. This is Korea. I suffered from this problem for 20 years. I found the cause and now I'm much better. First, if you have a nerve-treated molar, check xray for root inflammation. The root of the tooth is connected to the sinus, which can cause post nasal drip. Second, xylitol gum has a very good effect on oral cleanliness and sinus. Chew gum all day long. Third, examine the upper gastrostatic series and check if the stomach acid is refluxing. And if stomach acid flows back, the esophageal sphincter is often loose. For those suffering from postnasaldrip, sticky gastrointestinal fluid without stomach acid flows back to their eyes. The cure is Stretta and fundoplication. Follow the doctor's instructions.
Sounds exactly like what I’m suffering
I think I have nerve-treated molar that's way I am having post nasal drip what is the treatment for that?
I have a tip: Avoid dairy. You can see if it is a trigger by stopping it for a day or two then have some sort of milk product, cheese, yogurt, etc. I finally noticed the connection and dairy definitely gives me realllly bad post nasal drip.
I’ve noticed the more dairy I have the more phlegm I have in my throat
I’m definitely going to try this
Yes have noticed that too.
Yes, this is something I noticed as well. Another trigger food for my post nasal drip is processed sugar. The more sweets I have, the worse my symptoms get.
I noticed mind started after eating yogurt for a week. Dairy promotes Mucus in the body.
This is the best information that I have ever found on the subject. The suggestions are right! If the cause is GERD, also try raising the head of your bed at least 6 inches. Don't give up!!! Win.
Try this..abt 2 tbs lime/lemon juice, 1/2 tsp salt, 4 tbs slightly hot water. Mix well and gargle for at least 30 sec. The longer the better. Ppl with these problem shd always avoid cold drinks, cold places n dairy. Hope it helps
That is a good Remade ..but it comes back ..i call post nasal drip a devil .its hard to get rid of.

Same problem...pls update solution
Hi All. I’ve had this for the last week and I wanted to share what helped me. I had post nasal drip after a cold and it ruined my day to day life for 2-3 days after.
So doctor gave me Nasonex Steroid spray - this didn’t do much.
Then I tried antihistamine- again nothing as it wasn’t allergy.
Then I tried Sudafed Mucus which is when I noticed a change. This has Guaifenesin which thin mucus (so if it’s in the back of the throat it can slid away). I combined this with a tonic:
- cup of warm water
- 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
- table spoon of honey
- 1/2 lemon juice
- drop of olive oil
Today I work up with mild symptoms, so I’ve retaken the above and I’ll see how I am but I don’t have that feeling in my throat nowhere near as much! I hope this helps anyone who reads. Good luck.
Probably would have gone away anyway if you only had it for a couple of days. People that have had it for years would have tried every potion out there, you were very lucky
I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy

This is glorious, I have been researching "what is a sinus infection" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Franaar Easy Breath Formula - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my work buddy got great results with it.
I felt disgusting for such a long time because of this, I thought I was the only one with...just constant mucus, clogged at the back of my throat, and I was too scared to stand close to anyone because I was afraid they would find out. It wrecked my self esteem for a year and a half before I finally saw a doctor, and they were like oh that’s pretty common. I can’t believe I took so long to see a doctor, I was too embarrassed to, I was afraid I would disgust the doctor, when I could’ve fixed this with a few medications and moved on with life.
I'm having it at the moment. Don't ever feel that about yourself
thankyou x
what medicine?
Please tell those medications.
Try azithromycin/promethazine/dextromethorphan
my post nasal drip started when i was exposed to chlorine and other harsh chemicals. i would always feel like i have to spit and when i do, i spit sticky white phlegm, sometimes its so thick but not sticky. i noticed that the symptoms got worse whenever i eat sweets. i would experience instant drip after eating sweets and milk and because of that i tried to cut it off and now i dont experience drips anymore. i guess cutting of dairy products does the trick. it worked for me. it's still hard tho as im not used to it but im coping little by little. better have no milk than spending nights getting a hard time to breathe.
The milk you drink is not cow milk. It is something chemical.
This is interfering with my life so badly. I’ve had it for almost 10 years and it has never gone away once, it just flares up really bad every once in a while. I have tried everything and no ENT can tell me what is causing it so I really don’t know what to do at this point. Haven’t has a proper sense of taste or smell in a couple years on top of all the terrible things this causes
I'm so glad to see so many other people sharing that they have this cause I thought I was the only one and I thought I was imaging it. I've had it for years as well and I have to keep bringing up mucus that is stuck in my throat and swallow it again cause its so uncomfortable and I get really bad breath because of it. I've seen some people say try raw garlic so I'm gonna give it a try, don't know if it will work 🤷♀️
@@sarahelizabeth4423 did the raw garlic help?
The worst for me is that it makes me scared to talk because i sound all hoarsy and people dont understand me .
Same here. Things we take for granted. I'm trying ozone directly up my nose at the minute. Its early days yet.
@Jennifer L how have you been dealing with it for that long?? I’ve had post nasal drip for like about a week and I’m completely miserable. I’m coughing a shit ton, spitting up phlegm, runny nose, and raspy voice
This confirms that my doctor is not very good. I have complained of nasal congestion several times to him due to allergies and all he has to say is "keep taking the over the counter histamine"! He didn't give me any of these tips, not even the netti pot! Thanks!
Had this issue increase after having turbinate reduction surgery. This guy is a bit goofy but his suggestions are all good. For me, morning and eve masal rinsing with a netti but also, afterward the nitti and a few times a day, I use a nasal spray pump, that I fill with the netti pot solution. I spray 2-3 x each nostril and blow or snort to finish clearing out the sinus. Then I use the Ipatropium, which I was prescribed this past year, and its worked much better than the other sprays like Pantanase or the one he mentions. I get far better results when I keep up using the flonase as well. I can"t emphasize how keeping a ittle spray bottle of the salt solution handy, has made it easier to clear my throat.
Thank you so much for these helpful tips. It reminded me of what I need to do. I’m one who has had pnd all my adult life and have a deviated septum, which I believe is causing my symptoms. I found your tips most helpful. Appreciate all the info. Blessings.
I also have one, or so one doctor told me.

Buteyko Method really works. I permanently cured my life-threatening chronic asthma during a 4 month period in 1980 by following a procedure that arose spontaneously from combining tai chi/chi kung and biofeedback training. Later I came to understand that what I was doing conformed perfectly with Buteyko Breathing principles, although I discovered the work of Dr Buteyko in 2010! There are some videos of mine in which I talk about breathing technique on my RUclips channel and especially on the "Qi Sensing" DVD I'm currently in the process of completing.

Luanna, to be honest I find Google+ quite confusing. It's putting me in touch with people like yourself which I really appreciate but I don't find the system very user-friendly so I've no idea why my messages to you are disappearing. If you'd like to stay in touch as we develop a discussion around these subjects - asthma, qigong etc., feel free to email me directly. Alternatively or in addition, you can join me and/or my Simple Qigong Exercises group on Facebook. I'll look out for you there and you will be made very welcome.

If I drink cold or any sweets or Diary product after 5 minutes i used to get white Bhelgm and cough nasal congestion
I suffer with this a lot. Although, sometimes it disappears completely. I think it disappears when I swim a few times a week. Perhaps breathing the chemical (chlorine) from the pool air cleans the nasal passages? I recommend you give it a try.
Something weird that has helped is putting a pinch of cayenne pepper in tea. Also drinking milk with ginger, honey and turmeric.
Gargle hot water with salt 4 to five times a day..I did it for two days. It really worked after one day
did it get go away, like you don’t have it anymore?
@@faygo5008 I’m also curious. Had a cough for about a year can’t seem to budge it...
I did this multiple times in the past and while it doesn’t cure your post nasal drip(sore throat still persists) it does significantly reduce pain from swallowing and slightly reduces sore throat. I’d suggest using Vicks for cough.

@@mahinkhan4628 I'm not sure exactly what caused it. Acidic reflux, might just be because of allergies on what I've been told by my doctor. post nasal drip can cause tonsil stones in your tonsil, which would resault in bad breath. have you ever checked your tonsils to see if you have tonsil stones?
i have checked the cause called tonsil stones and i figure out that it has nothing to do with my breath ( a lot people have tonsil stones and they don't have bad breath).
Ugh I hate this with a passion. If I get a cold in the winter just before spring, I go from a from a runny nose to constant coughing. It could last over a month especially if the pollen count is high. I use a saline spray, because nothing is working this time around.

I’ll also be taking the antibody Covid test to see if I had it and something was triggered. **I’ve living this way for 5 months.
@@MadTracker do nothing just do the tests which i am telling you to do. "Ige allergy test",CBC blood test see eosinophils counts in it and do.if both reports are normal then do CT PNS and consult ENT asap you maybe have sinucitis
I have looked for any type of solution, I've had this issue for years and nothing ever seems to work.
a doctor once told me it was all in my head too
Have learnt to not listen to dr's opinions in 99% cases
Doctors never listen
Everything started since i start moving in the middle east .. i developed allergies from certain foods and now im having this post nasal drip .. im exposed on 2ndhand smoking because of my work all are smokers!!! Plus dusty weather and maybe mites 😖so tired of taking anti allergies in my life
Thank you very much Doctor.
It's been 2 years now with this. What a fucking life

Does post nasal drip always effect peoples breath and make it bad? And does it always make the tongue coated?
I think it does.
That sounds like candida infection
yes
Gra Piken .
I get this on rare occasion and it drives me insane. I’m unable to hack it up so I’m just constantly trying to swallow this wad that just will not go down. I swallow and then I can feel it just slide back up. Absolutely maddening
How long will it take to go away?
Any over the counter medications I can take?
Sorry but most of these tips are no help. I am in my 60s and all my life after a head cold or a bronchitis I get a post nasal drip that hangs around for 3 to 6 weeks, sometimes longer. Most doctors have prescribed Flonase (when it was prescrition) and I take when this happens but does not really help. The cough that goes with the post nasal drip is a throat clearing cough. Now with Covid a cough is looked at like you are going to spread disease to everyone. I need something that STOPS the pnd. So far what works best id sucking on halls cough drops all the time as it just mixes with the pnd and I do not cough as much. Many doctors over the years and no effective remedies. Was hoping for something different will keep looking
I’m going on 3 weeks now and I have to suck balls all day long
Best video ever. Thank you.
He made me sleepy 😴
I’ve had the post nasal drip after I had a cold about a week ago, should I worry or should it go away within the next few days?
Did it go away within a few days?
@@t1mmytiger nope, I still actually have it. Been a over 3 months
@@ryguy7605 think i got that too, brothers gf also have had the same symptoms for months after a light cold, my aunt had to get surgery for hers hope theres some way to fix this
@@ryguy7605 I've been suffering with post nasal drip and a lump in throat for at least almost 5 months should I be worried
@@flickshotz3887 I mean I would def reach out to a doctor. I’ve still had mine and it’s been about 4 months
This is so frustrating. I don't really have problems breathing but damn every morning I have to clean the back of my tongue with a tongue scraper to prevent bad breath, that really irritaties my tongue and probably isn't healthy in the long run...
Yes I’m exactly the same, it’s horrid :(
I spit that mucus from the back of my nose on a plastic cup and smelled it the next day, it was fvcking disgusting, it stinks like hell and I was throwing up while smelling it. So I guess I will have bad breath until I get this fixed.
very useful, many thanks
Good advice.
i have this due to a swollen deviated septum and no medicine has worked , idk what to do anymore
I wouldn't mind a little post nasal drip but my gag reflexes are horrible. I throw up just blowing my nose. Any tips for stopping the drip while I'm sleeping so I don't wake up gagging ?🤧 🤢🤮
Doctor just prescribed me chlordiazepoxide and clidinium (librax) just because I complaint of stomach problem. After using this for a few day my post nasal drip went away 80%. I've suffering from post nasal 4 yrs, I spit out clear mucus every 20 seconds.
I have the same thing this is really bad human experience i gross out myself my lipstick always fade due to constantly spitting im working as a front dest this situation really sucks
@@marylcampbell2409did you get rid of this problem now?
Okay I got a breakthrough for some...if you have it ...go to doctor and see if it's bacterial ..if so ask for antibiotics...best one is amoxicillin clavalunate ..but you have to use it exactly as prescribed and full prescribed dosage ...don't stop it half way even if you get well before finishing dosage ..GO ALL THE WAY WITH THE DOSAGE....or the bacteria will come back and take it timely as prescribed and it will kill the bacteria causing the post nasal drip....now with amoxicillin you have to take yogurt with it because it doesn't know how to distinguish the good and bad bacteria so it will kill both good and bad and so it will kill the good bacteria in gut and you will get stomach issues ...so take yogurt with it so as to replenish the good bacteria in your gut ....I got a relief and slept for a full night ..I had been struggling with sleep coz of post nasal drip for 27 days ...one time went two days without sleep ..but thank God for the antibiotics and Jesus .....now if it's not bacterial and the antibiotics don't fix it ...go to an ear ,nose doctor to figure if something else is wrong
IDC WHAT ITS CALLED HERE MY SYMPTOMS it only happens when i eat like 2 -3 mins it makes mucus drain down the back of my throat im assuming , I have acid buildup abnormal amount , I don't have to clear throat unless i eaten , or im doing Running/mma not sure what it is but I trying to drink applecider vinegar but idk. had it for about 8 months now.
did it go away? im having 2 months now.
I'm suffering from the same condition. It's only when I'm eating. I was told to stay away from anything that has preservatives. So I guess I'm going to become vegan.
@@ziluzulu219 just be aware. Post nasal drip, or sinusitis is aggregated by eating anything. So don’t just assume you have reflux especially if this is your only symptom and you’re not regurgitating acid.
I have post-nasal drip, and my doctor told me it's due to allergies. Though I'm not sure what I'm allergic to, so I'll keep experimenting. The antihistamine nasal sprays didn't really work for me, but yeah.
I had a serious case of post nasal drip and all it is sinus infection. I tried flushing and other things until I tried eating a raw half of garlic every other night for a week and it went completely away! I am only posting this to help anyone who has this problem for free. No more smelly breath! You can wash it down with some bread to help with the stinging effect of garlic but its natures anti biotic and it works!!

I think I have this :( I think mine is related to GERD, but I don't really have acid reflux. I feel gas pressure build up in my stomach many times a day, causing me to burp or breathe it out.

If it does then you know what is your problem then you can seek the doctor for treatment. I work in the health field but hate it when no doctor listen to you when you told them ulcer or acid is the causes of post nasal drip. I hope people with post nasal drip can read this and try it to see it can help. Life is sucks if you have to live with this.
When I am coughing constantly if I pinch my nose and breath through my mouth my coughing goes away instantly and it will not come back until I let go of my nose why ?
