- Today @jaidenanimations is back at it again with "Mario but I’m Blindfolded". In my Mario but I’m Blindfoldedo reaction, I use my Mario Speedrun and randomizer skills to watch the Jaiden Animations kaizo Mario challenge!
This isn't Jaiden's first video game challenge. She's done Pokemon nuzlocke challenges in "I Attempted my First Pokemon Nuzlocke" and "I Attempted a Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke". In my reaction today, like my "I Attempted a Speedrun (and got a world record)" reaction, I'm going to look at what Jaiden Animations did right, and where she slipped up.

Jaiden Animations is a bit of a pokefan, and pokemon challenge aficionado, having discussed "The best pokemon game you never played" and having animations of "Animated Pokemon Shorts (ORAS Special)." She also has taken on speedrunning challenges in Cooking Mama 2. Today I'm reacting to I Attempted Impossible Mario by Jaiden Animations because it is intense and incredible!

Maybe this is what I need to get back into speedrunning since it's been a minute but I miss it. Props to Jaiden for being a God-tier sport to try all these challenges!
so, question, how is ANYONE supposed to know the Mario Bros continue button Normally or blindfolded?

"Alpharad sounds kinda like Ranboo" during Jaiden's subathon she did D&D with the two of them and it is very difficult to tell them apart

I don't know if there is any lore with Jaiden and her little companion. I just call them Big Jaiden and Little Jaiden respectfully. In Jaiden's earlier videos, Little Jaiden would have some screen time by herself, doing her own things as Jaiden narrates. At some point, before or around the Mario Kaizo video, Little and Big Jaiden started to share the screen together. In Jaiden's recent videos, Little Jaiden not only interacts with objects around Big Jaiden, but also other characters. Little just became her own character overtime, but she and Big Jaiden share the same voice and thoughts. It's like if the inner you became a physcial being and you could interact with it. I think. I find any moments with Little Jaiden to be very cute and they add a bit of extra fun to every video.

I think little Jaiden is her inner child. We first started seeing her in storytimes that touch on her childhood but lately she's been showing up more in the background just living her best life no matter what big Jaiden is doing. I think Jaiden just started doing that to visually show the things that excite her inner child. like in her Digimon video where big Jaiden is struggling with playing the game and wishing for death but little Jaiden is having fun ordering Digimon plushies because inwardly she is enjoying the Digimon designs and finding favorites to love.
Alpharad recently held an award show for all his friends (long story), and Jaiden ended up winning the award for Best Gamer. Honestly, I doubt anyone was surprised (except maybe Jaiden)
5:14 I was a bit disappointed about this segment as well, because of the continue code thing. However, considering they also opted against SMB3 for similar reasons, I think even starting over from the beginning of the world would be too much for them (continuing is a per world basis, if you continue in 4-4, you'll start at 4-1. Just wanted to make it clear for everyone, since that continue thing is bizarrely obscure knowledge given how popular the game is).
Based on how Super Mario World went, I don't blame them. Needing to redo any of the levels probably would have driven them (by which I mean specifically Jacob) insane.

Yeah I kinda realized toward the end I think the goal was to beat 1 world, not just 1 level. BUT that said, 1-3, the flying fish level in Mario 1, would've been a nightmare lol
I think it'd be interesting to see Jaiden do a blindfolded Portal 2 co-op run
Finally someone else noticed his voice sounding similar to Ranboo! There was a part in the soul link with Jaiden where o was like “…he sound like Ranboo a little bit-“
These are the kind of videos that really have me wanting for YoBGS to do some speed runs of his own.
I need to get back into it. I think all 40-some of my records have long been broken at this point. I guess I just worry people won't care about my gaming content or, idk, I need to get over my self-consciousness I suppose
If you want similar content to what Jaiden does, RubberRoss occasionally does similar video structures but his stuff is usually more art focused, and DougDoug does all kinds of challenge like what Jaiden does but without animation
I love DougDoug and have watched him a bunch. It's just this weird thing where I have to find people who folks want to watch alongside me and that's complicated.

Ive got over a week with no work so i’ll be trying to record a cult of the lamb 100% speedrun. I can actually get the WR pretty easily its not a competitive category….cause the current WR is just under 9 hours…
That sounds like an absolute drag, oh my goodness. Then again, the game doesn't seem particularly - breakable
@@BlueSodaPop_ 100% gets no attention, literally there are only 2 run’s currently. Any% NMG mostly boils down do getting golden fleece as soon as possible and then playing perfectly, any% with glitches actually has this really cool one to get to different areas before unlocking them so they go to midas cave early and get Golden Fleece a bit sooner.
Yeah its not a very breakable game. Either way i prefer the routing aspect of runs more then skill based execution. 100% play mild time management as we get everything else needed before grinding devotion at the shrine. Which takes a few in game days when your good.
@@friedpinnapple I've tried speedrunning a few different games before and learned about myself that I *really* struggle executing techniques that need very specific, fast button presses. So routing is usually what I'm most interested in as well, lol. I might take a look at the run then, though nine hours would probably still be - uhm, TOO long for my taste lol
People with the patience to speedrun 9 hours are incredible to me. I've done FF6 and Earthbound runs and both were I think in the 6-8 hour range and I almost lost my mind
@@BlueSodaPop_ 9 hours is an amateur time. I easily get runs in under 7, sub 6 is pretty possible. Its actually an interesting run to do since there a lot going on that you’re trying to balance.
I didn't comment this on jaiden's video because mental health can be a touchy subject, but I wonder if she has dyscalculia? I have it and not being able to tell my left and right is one of my biggesy symptoms along with having trouble counting money, guessing measurements etc

I imagine the 'real' Jaiden and 'Animated' Jaiden is a reference to Lizzie McGuire, where Hillary Duff played the real Lizzie and the Animated version would step in to fill the audience in on Lizzie's inner thoughts and emotions.
I love that you remember the layout of the levels, speedrunning will do that I guess?
In games like Mario World the speedrun is sort of like a dance. The enemies and platforms are always in the same spot if you do it the same way every time, so you just remember when to jump, even if you don't remember what you're jumping off of lol
May I suggest reacting to Jaiden playing Fossil Fighters next?
Even with the continue code, starting at the beginning of a World is still quite brutal for this challenge.

Even if they knew how to continue, try explaining that to jaiden who is blindfolded just the other instructions he’s given… I’d rather it start at the beginning; unless it’s further in the game as they’re not so far in. If you know what I mean.
