It's because 10 years ago, the original Summertime Sadness never made the Billboard Hot 100 - it was on the Bubbling charts and then became trendy years later.
This remix was played all over the radio worldwide and was a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 when it came out.
10 years ago most of the general public would have only known Lana on the radio for this song as her other songs were not popular on the radio except "Young and Beautiful" which is her 2nd biggest song. Basically Cedric Gervais gave Lana del Rey her biggest song on the radio and arguably to this day it still is. Lana's Billboard Hot 100 history is really bad but Lana is proof that you don't need radio play to be successful. She has 55m monthly listeners despite having only 15 charting songs on the Billboard Hot 100.
These EDM club remixes were super popular in the early 2010s. EDM has since died out and now so it makes sense why the original Summertime Sadness is more popular now. It's easier to listen to in several different environments, whereas EDM is only suitable for parties and clubs.

The original is melancholy and somewhat nostalgic, this remix is powerful and energetic. I really love both, but I decided to give this song another feel, sort of like a drive-down-the-beach happy, relaxed feel. It's in my channel, so tell me if you like it :)
