This is really good. I like when the live version is close to the studio. Funky drummer, speed demon guitarist, slap happy Bassist and Wildman songwriter. One of my favorite bands. ❤
This is one of the single greatest guitar solos I’ve ever heard. And to make it even better, Chad and Flea are BEYOND tight. They are on fire in this video. Anthony is iconic as ever and a ball of energy. I dare say… the Chillis are the most exciting they’ve ever been in this video. Fack… this is hall of fame stuff.
I don't see enough love for this bassline in Eddie so here it goes: Flea is absolutely insane, Frusciante is out there doing the sickest guitar solo but I still can't help splitting my attention 50/50 with the bass in this song. SO fucking good.

Amazing performance. No backing tracks and unless that was overdubbed the vocals were astounding - no/low effects, no delay, and seemingly no pitch correction. People with real talent who write great songs and can perform them live themselves without crutches. Music did used to happen before corporate america got involved.
We are so blessed to have so many wonderful. performances of Eddie already. Amazing band performances, incredible, beautiful solos but FOR ME, the PinkPop 23 performance is my favourite to date.(and that's saying something -have you seen Osaka?) It's the fastest and listen to how they ALL respond to that -IT FIRES THEM UP! From Flea adding a double time arpeggiated run in the solo that pushes John to new places in that solo, Chad has the tempo by the neck and is full control showing how he can subtly vary or majorly replace fills and then Anthony. It's obvs that in Eddie he worships JFs guitaring. That bass line drives him, but often is on his knees during the break. His vocals are great here. For having to be so athletic, AK has always impressed with his vocal endurance. That he can jump, dance and sing all of his parts, rarely drops part out ever is majorly positive example to all young singers out there. His vocals in Eddie are heartfelt, on point and his fills are brilliant. How he got that yelp in the solo on key so well was awesome! So whilst a massive ribute to argubly the GOAT of rock guitar, this version is a stelllar, almost at peak power performance. Thanks for sharing it with us.
it's too loud in the mix tho. not sure how it sounds live, but this video sounds like a soundboard mix. drums need to go down, vocals up and bass could use more top end.

Viel me op dat er veel mensen klaagden over de show. Maar ik ben blij dat er nog wel headliners zijn die doen wat ze moeten doen op het podium: op hoog niveau muziek maken. Misschien geen 2,5 uur, maar de Peppers spelen altijd hooguit een uur en driekwartier.
Ik was er ook, volledig mee eens. Maar er ontbreekt wat interactie. Ze lijken muziek maken heel leuk te vinden en dat stralen ze uit. Maar optreden voor andere lijken ze een beetje klaar mee te zijn ofzo.

to me, it's not really the ages that is amazing (there are plenty of artists that perform well into their 70's) it's the amount of drugs they did and that they are still alive and able to perform well.
@@robin212212honestly they did a lot of drugs but once people get clean they’re pretty much fine. It might have cut 5 or 10 years off the end of their lives but I don’t think there’s many long term effects of opioid use. Now if they were on m3th it would be a different story

great band...and so generous with their concerts ( RUclips is full of high quality full concerts from past year) that in contrast to Guns & Roses, Eagles etc that ban their songs coming online. Only thing i find a bit overdoing it is Chad Smith those collection of kits , half he rarely if ever uses ...but still a good tight band...and being 70 i have loved them their entire existence...

@@Babyhoho7 he's a great frontman and definitely has his own style of spitting lyrics that's makes them unique, but i've never considered him a singer.
and honestly watching this video, as he wandered around the stage with his shirt over his face, while the other musicians set the place on fire with their skill, i was just wondering how the hell he's made a living for so long as a singer and why those guys ever decided they needed him in the first place.
