As much as I love John and am happy for him and the band that he's back, I'm gonna really miss Josh. He's phenomenal and definitely had a lot of future potential in RHCP had John not joined back.

The fact that they literally changed their minds on what song was going to be the intro on stage and it still flowed rather well is just impressive. Even pretty funny, because it looked like Flea proposed the idea and both Chad and Josh looked at each other like “Aight, I’m down.”
cv 33 they normally jam before they start Can’t Stop. This jam is even in the same key as Can’t Stop. It’s possible they planned on it, but I’d be willing to bet it was a spur of the moment decision.
Also, they absolutely would have been able to hear each other playing live. Not being able to hear each other is a load of BS. I've played live, I know what it's like. They would have been able to hear each other.

@@George-hy1or you do know that setlists exist right? a list of the songs they will play at the concert? this is made way before the live show and they follow it (this is common with bands when they do a live perfomance) and from what i know, it's anthony that does the setlist, so he might of just changed it just because he felt like it. but it could also be that they really wanted to play dark necessities and anthony had to go along, or they told him that they wanted to play it right before going on stage. otherwise, it was all planned

Lets be honest….after Stadium Arcadium, with the exception of a couple singles their work slipped as far as songwriting. John’s true strength is that he is a beast of a songwriter. He wrote Under the Bridge when he was 19…
Josh is a fantastic guitarist but when they’re on stage he’s carried by Flea in the jams. John on the other hand would carry Flea. Josh just rocked out without a whole lot of thought behind what he was playing.

A real fan knows the deal. Well spoken, to those unfamiliar with Peppers History, John Frusciante was the long tenure Leaf Guitar. However, Hilal was the original following John F, Arik and Josh. There have been a few others like Dave Navarro and Freddy that played with the band but the main Guitarist is John F, but all along his time Josh was tight there behind the drum kit playing that other lever of Guitar that’s necessary in order for the guys to go out and perform. Their songs are very intricate and I’ve learned a lot about life and music in general from the Greatest Band of My Time, and All Time in my opinion, THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS 🌶!!!!!!!

TheSroolik Every single person on that stage is amazing. Josh is the reason I love this particular video. His passionate Convolution dance moves are Raw. Then you focus on each one for a song. Chemistry! Each musician is on point and Rocked it out with extreme fresh passion. 🤙🏼

it's seems like flea forced the band to play dark necessities as opener very instantly, all the others started to play can't stop... they played on Em key as can't stop than changed to Cm as dark necessities

Yea, it really is. They opened with it in Stockholm a couple of months ago and it was AWESOME! The lights and everything were just perfect

In fact, listening to it again, it sounds like Josh actually started going into the Can't Stop intro before they cut to Dark instead
try the live show at Slane Castle. their best live performance I've ever seen.... when they were actually STILL the *real* "Red Hot Chili Peppers."
I discovered RHCP when I heard Rain Dance Maggie and Dark Necessities. I fell in love with their sound and then went through their older albums. I hold the same love for RHCP and love them as a unit. Not for their individual members.

They're SO rad live. Have had the privilege of seeing them twice. The first time I snagged tickets, they finally came to my city and John had just left the band, so naturally, I was pretty disappointed about that. However, they still fucking rocked the roof off that place. Saw them again a few weeks ago and they were even better if that's possible. One of those rare gems - you can rock out to their stuff from '85 all the way to now. Just love em!
I had to listen to the albums “I’m with You “ and “The Getaway” at least 2-3 times before I started to like them. Now they’re my favorite RHCP records. Definitely looking forward to hearing the next one, cuz Josh is kicking some ass!

As a guitarist, Josh improved tremendously during his time with the Chili's. And he was awesome already anyway. ♥️
I'm going to miss Josh with the RHCP. I prefer his heavy rhythm guitar style than John's Hendrix-esque style of playing. It's a shame I'm Beside You wasn't released as an album, that was his greatest work he put out.
Gotta say that intro was the perfect fit for Can't Stop.
Can’t stop and DN have a similar intro and build up so can work for both.

Imma miss Josh so so much, his energy was incredible! Loved every song he made with RHCP, in fact most of my fav songs came from the albums he was in.
After months of listening to them, saying that all my fav songs came from him is an overstatement. There’s John the god, Dave the king, Hillel the goat. In the end I love all of them and I will miss Joshy boy a lot. Welcome back John.
Josh is one of my favourite guitarists, unbelievably talented, just think he's a bit too heavy on the effects. You can't really hear what he's trying to play sometimes. Just tone it down a little.

This is one of the few bands in the world, that every band's member is absolutely awesome. I mean, you can play guitar, bass, drums or sing and you would learn for each of the members, wouldn't matter the instrument you play because they are Incredible on each of their areas!! Flea and Steve Harris from Iron maiden seem to be 2 of the most "distinguished" bassist that I know of. I mean that they sound very unique to themselves only, when you hear them play you just know that it is them.
Im admittedly a john d rider i love all his work with and without rhcp. But josh reall brought a new sound to rhcp and some of my favorite songs are from the josh era. Although im happy john is back i will miss the guy
