Yeah, exactly. It drives me nuts listening to them sometimes because they will start flailing around something that the show has already explained, but then Rana usually pulls them out of it. It's not really their fault because the show is so complicated, and they aren't helping themselves by not bingeing it.
Tim Arnold.sorry my english, i'm brazilian. have no doubt that they will end the series without understanding half of the events. the show has already explained several of the issues that they still don't understand or accept. they try to create theories on the basis of irrelevant or already justified events. it's a little frustrating.
a basic premise has not yet been assimilated. a character who has seen his future will make decisions based on what has been seen. regardless of any other reason. and they get lost wondering why claudia, for example, gave up the plant to alexander, or how a character knows how to act. no
matter the conclusion, it will always be the correct one

@@Timmayytoo I mean its like watching the show and seeing the character's trying to change the past, every logical thinking human can deduce that you can't change the past, because you would eliminate the reason for your time travel, so you would never actually travel back(as long the universe doesn't split in more, like in DBZ time travel)

Dark is such a well thought out and compelling story. Absolutely my all time favorite watch and first on the recommended list.
In season 1, there are several hints that refer to the sex scene between Jonas and Martha. For example, when Jonas notices in the very first episode that Martha is now in a relationship with Bartosz after his absence. Later, they also talk about "the thing that happened between them in the summer", which is this sex scene from this episode.
Exactly details
The convo between Ulrich and Hannah is the same convo that kid Ulrich and kid Hannah do at the bus stop, only the lines are reversed. Check it out in season 1. It's their inside joke, kinda. Kid Ulrich says "A world without Winden"

Actually, that's literally sum up the show
Michael says to Jonas: "God doesn't err. He has a plan, for each of us". That is what Noah told Mikkel when he wanted to go into the caves in 1986 and Noah was sitting at the entrance eating an apple.
I think Michael's faith is part of why he does not travel back to his family. I speculate that it's part of why he does not resist being stopped at the caves with Ulrich. Its now the third time he's attempted to go through and once again he fails. Isn't it strange how a priest just happened to be there waiting for him? Isn't it strange how things fall into place? That's what he must think. All these absolutely incomprehensible things that happen to him are easily rationalised by faith. Ines talks to him about things having places, about how she was in the right place at the right time to look after him. And so too Michael believes he has a place, and he finds that that place is fathering his son. It's why annotations of the map stop after 2003.

The map that Michael has in the ceiling of his room, the one that Jonas finds and uses to go through the caves, has notes on it. So he must have used this map, which was created by Katherina who travelled to 1987 looking for Mikkel, to explore the caves himself. His notes have dates on them but they only say things like 1991 or 2001 but never anything above 2003. 2003 is the year Jonas was born.

This episode is so well directed, every scenes flows so well from one to the next and the emotional impact is so high.
I love how this episode in the middle of the series completely flips the narrative for the remainder. Such an amazing show!

it's the same Noah who travels in different times, he ages like everyone. For instance if he's 45 and in the span of 24 hours he goes straight from 2019 to 86 and then 53 you will always see him at the age of 45, because for him it all happened during the same day, he literally jumps through time

Martha kissed Jonas for the first time in her life that day at the lake, but that was 2020Jonas who already experienced kissing her before.
Later that night 2019Jonas kissed Martha for the first time in his life, but that Martha had already kissed a version of him earlier.
My favourite episode of Dark! Seeing everybody so blissfully oblivious of what is coming for them...
So many amazing moments in this episode. I teared up at the hug when traveler Jonas got to see his dad once more after losing him.

The show really rewards 2nd (and 3rd and 4th...) viewings. There are so many things you pick up on each time. It's masterful!

Noah DOES age, we've seen him as a teen so there's that. The multiple times we've seen adult Noah in different timelines could have happend in the span of a week or two, he is timetraveling.
Also, I think you are rushing too much by trying to understand Adam's plan right now. He is purposely keeping it a secret from "our" Jonas, so we don't have all the pieces yet.
I will just say this, no matter how confused you get by whatever happens, everything will be explained eventually. Just remember & hang on to that. If you’re confused about something, you’re supposed to be at that moment. But, it won’t stay that way.
I mean, not EVERYTHING. But everything important, yes. Some small questions linger.
At the lake I think Jonas was trying to say goodbye to Martha giving a last kiss, cause he thought he’s gonna die pretty soon. But he ended up creating a new cycle, instead. 🤯🇧🇷

This show got me thinking, if I saw myself when I was like eight years old, would I/past me recognize myself? XD I think it's plausible Hannah wouldn't recognize Mikkel as Michael. They met probably two decades ago, and probably lost touch after they were young and likely regained contact as adults. I think the pills Ines was slipping Mikkel also made him slowly forget about everything until Jonas and the yellow coat brought it all crashing back.
Also, something Claudia mentions to Jonas -> holy crap I totally dismissed that on first viewing. The writing on this show is so good it's scary. O_o
If you believed time travel exist then, yeah, maybe. If not - impossible.

My perspective as an old guy --- you really can't generalize about "you would recognize" the older or younger versions. For example... my oldest brother (facially) looked amazing similar from his photos as a 5yo to his 70s. Yet me? No joke... I seem a different person as each 15-20 years pass. No way my young self would know me today by appearance.

Minor correction: Adam isn't 99. He only says that it took him 66 years to find the answer to the time loop stuff. If we assume that "our Jonas" is 17-18, tack on 66 years and you get Adam's actual age, which would be 83-84.

Everything else we've seen from Winden was gloomy and raining all the time. Kind of a reflection of Jonas's inner self.
This is one of the best episodes in any TV show EVER. So much going on, and the mindblowing event is out of this world. Holy shit, it always gives me goosebumps.

Seeing Jonas with his dad just makes me cry. The amount of trauma and pain that kid has gone through that he had no control over breaks me.
Suraj is right... recognizing someone you saw years ago from memory is different from seeing a picture of them back then and being able to recognize them as someone in the present day. Katarina would be the only one that might recognize him from memory, evidenced by the look of confusion and deja vu on her face when she saw him.

The sequence of them cycling to the lake makes me so sad. It is kind of the last happy day for all of them before everything starts to fall apart.
The thing about Adam is that he sees himself as different from the Adam he met with, and thus keeps trying do have just one more cycle and therefore repeating everything again.

I'm pretty sure others have made this point, but this is a show that I really had to stop trying to figure out where the story was going and just buckle in and enjoy the ride.
I know you guys are several episodes ahead at this point, but you are making it much more difficult on yourselves by using "timelines" instead of "time periods". Timelines refers to multiple universes, where time period should be self-explanatory. So 1921, 1954, 1987, 2020 & 2053 are the time periods that events take place in, but they are all in the same timeline.
The video was uploaded today, but there are months old comments... this is what I'd expect from a YT video about Dark.

to the question on what is adam's goal: the question is actually answered in 1x10 when stranger tells jonas that he cannot free him from the bunker because it might change the future and stranger would not be able to do what he was planning to do (which failed). for the same reason, adam needs probably to ensure all his past is reenacted by jonas so he is in the same current situation as he maybe finally has a plan (at adams's age) - he said it took him 66 years to think about that plan in previous episode

Eine Welt ohne Winden is a play on words, because Winden also means "twists" like plot twists. They don't necessarily mean leaving their town.

LOVE your reactions to this show. The most underrated time travelling show ever. It's so well done. I keep trying to get my friends to watch it but some of them don
t want to read subtitles, but the English version is actually well done and alot of the same actors do the English parts so the voices match well. Anyways, can't wait till you get to the end of this season!
