In lost they couldn't close the plot in a good way so the end was so bad.

They intentionally made the trailer look like Stranger Things because Season 2 had just come out and they wanted to catch the people who wanted more of it.

English dub is SHIT. Englidh dubber is like where is mikkel while in german he breaks down. + as a native duch speaker i know more then half of what they say and it goes so well with the show

The song you're hearing at the end of the episode is called "Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann" from Nena. She has been quite famous in Germany in the 80s and 90s. You might know her from "99 red balloons".
Fun fact about the song: The series premiered in 2017, while the song "Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann" came out almost exactly 33 years ago to that point.

@@spiral5650 yeah I agree, but I just realised it also brings up an important point I hadn't thought of before. Maybe they don't do sub shows because they (especially Rick and Calvin, who sit in the middle) sit quite far from the screen and therefore have difficulty reading subs from far away

It's SO crazy to me that the first shot of the show is the wall of pictures but you really have no idea what it means til you've finished the season and see it again.
I guess I shouldve revisited the pictures instead of breaking my brain connecting 50 versions 20 people but that was the fun I guess.

That is a chocolate bar produced by the company Mars Inc.
Initially, Mars Inc. distributed this under the name of TWIX in a lot of countries, but under the name of RAIDER in other countries. Germany was one of those countries where the chocolate bar was called RAIDER.
Later on, Mars decided to rebrand and harmonize the product internationally under the name of TWIX. Therefore, in 1991 RAIDER was changed to TWIX, and that was accompanied by a huge marketing campaign with a catchy slogan.
Her showing him a packageing of a RAIDER immediately dates the event they're talking about back to the 1980s, before Mars changed RAIDER to TWIX. It is an absolutely insane detail only older Germans can pick up on, because the younger people do not know Raider. I myself was a kid when Raider was changed to Twix.

Dark is a masterpiece from beginning to end. I love how much attention you are paying to details because it's crucial with this show. I even don't think there is much overanalyzing that can be done here -- every detail you mentioned has a significance even though you might not know for a while what it is. I'm excited for your next reactions.

This show requires an open mind and some patience since it is very laid-back, slow burning and well... German :D But if you give it a chance, the experience will be unforgettable.
This is your idea of laid back? I just finished episode 3 and it's already pretty wild. At this rate, I'll probably just need a few days to finish it.
I love the intro not just for its symbolism, but also the fact that it gives you scenes from future episodes without spoiling anything xD when I first watched the show, I would keep track of which scenes in the intro I had actually watched in the show, kind of like a fun little Easter egg hunt. The mirrored effect is so cool and it’s one of the few intros of a show that I don’t skip

Buckle up! You guys are in for one hell of a ride. This is a series you have to pay attention what is going on in every scene and every frame to catch all the detailed work they put into this amazing series. For me, this is the best sci-fi drama of all time. Bold statement, but I stand by it.

After the first 5 episodes you'll know what I mean. Good choice to watch it in German with subtitles as the english dubbing is crap. The best SciFi/Mystery show. This show has some of the *MOST* insane rewatch ability you will ever seen witness. The writing is unbelievable tight! You can 100% must your faith and trust in the journey that this show will take you on, knowing it will all comes together in such a perfect circle you have to see to believe! @@pharoh4816 How is that crazy? What does Dark have to offer besides a complex narrative? Interesting characters? Hardly. Something about morals or anything? Breaking Bad is a character study with action and drama. Dark is... I don't even know what it is.
@@kuhpunkt my earlier crazy comment was sarcastic, and Dark has everything I want in a show. Also morality is a huge part of the show, and I do think the characters are incredibly interesting, no spoilers but as this show delves deeper into what it really is, they still spend a lot of time on the personal relationships between characters when I feel that most shows would've focused on the more "interesting" parts of the show.
Although whether its your fav show or not is also entirely up to you, I really like Dark, and Breaking bad is also good. I just like Dark ten times more

I've been a fan of you for a long time and for you to now watch my favorite tv show of all time is amazing! This series is so mind blowing and it really rewards you in the end if you pay close attention to the plot and especially the characters from the start. It's also the perfect mystery show and it was so much fun trying to solve all millions of those mysteries the show offered. Really felt like watching LOST all over again but this time everything pays off in the end because the writers had a clear end goal from the beginning.
This show is a perfect example of why Americans (and other stubborn English speakers) need to branch out and watch foreign content even if they don't like having to read subtitles. An absolutely incredible story that's in my top 5 of all time (and I've watched a frankly sad amount of television).

For me, this was the perfect show. Every episode you get answers but always more questions 😅. But at the end... Wow, I like that the creators of this show thought everything through and did not stretch the show, just for money, resulting in a terrible ending or bad seasons. You have to pay attention, every detail is important. Almost every sentence and image has a meaning, is giving clues or answers... Lots of symbolism, references to religion and mythology.
I’m happy to see these 3 together again, they’re great together!

I watched in English dub, which wasn’t bad first because I was told to pay attention to the families. Hard to read and watch. Then my 2nd watch was in German to fully appreciate the language. It worked
Good idea. I think they miss some things watching it in German with English subtitles. For example, when Ulrich's brother is mentioned, they think he was Hannah's husband, and that Ulrich is having an affair with his dead brother's wife. But watching it in English, it was quite obvious that they were making a link between the disappearance of Erik and his brother, the implication being that his brother disappeared at a young age too. But I think I'll take your idea and watch it in German the second time around - should be interesting.
I am SO EXCITED that you guys started this, I only wish there was the whole couch crew here becose this show needs those brainstorming moments at the end
