My reaction to Season 1 Episode 1 of Dark. A new reaction journey begins and wow, what a mysterious and intriguing ride Dark is already promising to be. I love how the show has already been challenging me in trying to connect all the layers to this mystery, from its several character families to the events like the disappearance of Erik, Mikkel and Ulrich's brother, the power plant, sounds coming out of the cave, and the hooded person we've been seeing. I hope you'll enjoy my reaction!

The caliber of quality in Dark is literally off the charts. Impeccable casting, brilliant acting, insane plot, genius writing, beautiful cinematography and fantastic music.
And yup... Time travel...

One thing I always liked of this show is that people there seems to be normal people, not the typical fashion models whe see in american shows.
SO SO SO happy you're doing this show!! I myself have only recently started watching it as I noticed a couple of other reaction channels picking it up, and once I started I couldn't help but binge watch almost all of it this past week. I have just a few more episodes until the series finally, sadly it's only 3 seasons long, but OH BOY!! it has been a wild and phenomenal, trippy ride. Having watched you react to Steins: Gate these last couple of months, I know you're gonna over-think and over-analize everything and yet there is no other way to watch this show. I feel like this one was made for you. I just know you're gonna love it. And never forget, EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED.

I started this series last week because you seemed to really like it and I finished it yesterday. One of the best decisions I have made in a long time, this show was absolutely amazing

Oh boy! "Dark" is one of the most complex, if not the most complex, TV shows I've ever watched so good advice - keep attention to details and, if you don't have a very good memory of the names and faces, make family trees with all the names and connections. You will need this later ;)

Yeah I actually recognized it instantly! Was left out of the edit but I did call it out while watching the first ep immediately. That Gus scene is a classic :)

What a great show! One that needs to be watched multiple times to just understand how some things are connected. If there's any "flaw" in the series, it is that it's so easy to miss thing.

One of the things that are easy to miss, because at that point, you don't have the necessary background informations, and when you do have them, it's not easy to make the connection. It is also never directly mentioned or resolved.
When we see Erik Obendorf, the red-haired missing boy, for the first time in this show, he has been missing for two weeks.
Over the course of the show we learn that the room where he is kept is in 1986. We also learn that the "time travel", by whatever method, here is limited to exactly 33 years.
We get to know the exact date when Erik was "sent" through time. We get to know the exact date when Mads was "sent". It's just a day apart. One day for them... not 33 years. We know how long Erik was missing before that, we know how long Mads was missing before that.
Look at the scene at 14:22. There's a bunk bed in the room. Both Mads and Erik would have to be kept there together, for at least two weeks. But Mads is nowhere to be seen. He had already been "sent".
Erik would just shortly before that scene has seen his co-captive being strapped to the chair and... dissolved before his eyes. It should be no surprise that he looks VERY disturbed here.

Yeah I think I found out about it by around ep5! I'm already a bit ahead right now obvs :) But it's been a very helpful resource, super cool how they allow you to say how far in the show you are and then show you all the available information based on that.
Other thing to say, its a good thing for the show that u have a notebook for write the details. U can come back to the nottes all the time u find some kind of lost.

You're in for a ride! I watch animes too but now that I'm older, I've became selective of animes to watch. And that's how I subscribed to your channel because you react to the animes that I currently watch: Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen. Dark is a masterpiece! I'm not inclined with time-travel stuff and basically science-fiction but this one, when I started it back when it's still Season 1 coz it's a Netflix reco for something similar to Stranger Things but let me tell you, this is not similar to Stranger Things at all (except maybe for a particular timeline) and this was such a mind-blowing series, I loved it so much! So I hope you will feel the same way as we (Dark fans) do. Too bad this is underrated but it seems that it's becoming more and more popular these days.

Anyways, I was just suggesting that when you complete the first season of this series.
It would be appreciable if you post an hour - long video on the views of whole season 1, discussing the plot point, connections, relationships and your theories about the future aspect of the show. I love to listen someone discussing about my fav. topic, I could listen them for hours just like (FilmyBUFF) .
If it's possible, please don't rush with the series, and just watch this at your own pace. Trust me, I have learned that the hard way. Me and my friend binged watched this 3 season long show in not more than a week, and by the end of the series we were just as confused as a five year old boy would be giving an university entrance exam.
My friend just dropped this show, then I alone re-watched this shown in a whole month. And my god!! I could not believe that the hints for the finale would be present from the very first episode.
Truly a one in a million MASTERPIECE!

I'd definitely like to catch up on it at some point but the problem is I've seen S1 & 2 already many years ago. So I'd probably have to start the reaction series in the middle which would kinda suck I feel?
