One of the defining moments in Petula Clark's career came with her historic performance alongside Harry Belafonte on an NBC television special in 1968. Their duet of the civil rights anthem "On the Path of Glory" became a significant moment during a time of racial tension. Clark's spontaneous touch on Belafonte's arm created controversy and highlighted the breaking of racial boundaries through music. Throughout her career, Clark achieved numerous milestones and accolades. She recorded a string of chart-topping hits, including the international sensation "Downtown," which made her the first British female artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States.
Her versatile voice, catchy pop sound, and engaging stage presence endeared her to audiences worldwide. Petula Clark's legacy extends beyond her chart success. She has received Grammy Awards, been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, and earned the prestigious Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her contributions to music and entertainment. Her versatility as an artist has been evident in her ability to explore different genres, including pop, rock, jazz, and French chanson. Despite her long and storied career, Petula Clark's talent and star power have not diminished. She continues to captivate audiences with her live performances, showcasing her timeless hits and showcasing her evolving sound. With her enduring charm, remarkable stage presence, and unwavering passion, Clark remains an inspiration to generations of fans and fellow artists.

Aging is a part of life.
    What does one expect?
The real beauty is what is inside of a person through
    each age. Aging gracefully.
Quit acting like a person is suppose to still look like they
    did when they were young.
Again, the REAL BEAUTY THAT IS ON THE INSIDE IS WHAT
    IT IS ALL ABOUT!
    SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!

Pet Clark is one of the greatest female Singers (and enduring) Britain has ever produced! Multi-talented from a young child. What people never comment on, is during the sixties (the era she is best associated with) people tend to forget, that nearly 60 yeas ago, and in your late thirties - you were no chicken and knocking on a bit - and Petula was competing with a lot of young talent in tee Music Industry - particularly in the Charts; she did it with ease, and did not look out of place with all the young things, yet she’d been around and in the business long before many of her co-stars were even born! She had no problems with hit after hit! This was no easy feat! She really deserves some kind of an Award for that achievement alone! She’s great! I want to see her reach WAY past 100!

I know Im alot younger than most Petula fans, but I cherish her! If you don't like 50s to 90s pop music, you don't know music. Petula is very special and I play her often. I know the old women in the neighborhood like it too. !! Tears of joy already!

Petula Clark was the love of my life when I was 9 and 10 years old. My favorite songs where "A Sign of the Times" and "I Couldn't Live Without Your Love."

I ave always loved her. She appeared at my local theatre where I booked a box to treat my friends on my fiftieth birthday. Isn't it about time that she received the accolade of Dame of the British Empire for her services as an international star ? Many of her contemporaries have - so about time that she joined their illustrious company here.

I completley agree , why she has never been made a Dame baffles and saddens me .

Thank you so much for this tribute to the wonderful Petula! I have loved and followed her for years. (That sounds kind of creepy, but you know what I mean.)

She never ever looked her age. Even though she is 17 years older than I am, when I was in my 20s someone stopped me on the street and told me that I look just like Petula Clark. Even some of my relatives told me that. I’ve always loved her

I disagree with the title about Petula. She deserves more respect then the title gives her. She’s one of of a kind and one of my favorite singers.

What a nice gesture Petula did by simply touching Harry's arm,yet it caused an outrage.sad that Harry has passed this year.rip.
