Secret Invasion has proven that there is a power vacuum in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: The Avengers are no more. Following the events of Avengers Endgame, the MCU's Mightiest heroes deiced that getting a new team together wasn't worth the trouble. So in this video we talk about why that's a mistake (and also makes for good storytelling).
We breakdown the current whereabouts of Captain America, Bucky, Spider-Man, Dr Strange, Thor, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Hulk, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and many more.

So the most important line we’ve he ard in the show secret invasion has been totally overlooked [if Avengers get back together]. This line confirms that the Avengers split up following Endgame. So this means that following the events of the infinity war, when every superhero stood arm in arm to save the universe, that a few heroes din;t bother to say, “hey, we should keep doing this.”
Now clearly the MCU has planned this for a reason-so I’m going to talk about how and why the Avengers will reassemble in phase 5-but I’m also going to tell you why I think this is a mistake. And that the reason phase 4 was the weakest phase is because we needed an Avengers movie.
So in the most recent episode of Secret Invasion, spoiler alert for episode 4-alien terrorists attack the president of the united states. This would ordinarily be a job for the Avenegrs-you know, the powerful people who can fight the battle that we never could.
In the old days, cap would have showed up with a quinject, or Tony would have dispatched the iron legion form space. But now, the Tony droines have all been seized and appropriated by Damage Control. The superheroes no longer have a contingency in place for disastrous events like this.
And I think that the decision to not reform the avengers was ultimately selfish-and as I’ll prove to you, these superheroes had their reasons-but as Fury would say they’re stupid ass reasons. The heroes have acted slefishly, and hung Fury out to dry.
Bow the show has given us an excuse for why Fury didn;t call superheroes for help [clip]. I actually think that there is another reason for this-a deeper, more personal reason that I’ll talk about later on.
But, first of all, I have to point out that all of this is adapted from the comics
-so I’m going to explain that adaptation, because it will inform what is going to happen next with the MCU. So back in the 1980s, the scarlet witch and vision had twin sons-conceived with magic, and complicated stuff. Then, in an issue of the west coast Avengers, it was revealed that wanda actually just imagined her sons into existence.
Visions’ memory was wiped, and the kids were absorbed back into mephisto-long story. The point is, that afterwards Agatha Harkness places a spell on Wanda to make her forget her children. This is because wanda has the power to rewrite reality, and her grief makes her unstable-and so for years, the Avengers lied to wanda, never mentioning that she had kids.
Then the wasp kind of let it slip, and the scarlet witch began to subtly sabotage the Avengers. Killing jack of hearts, summoning ultron bots to fight the team, destroying Avengers mansion. Then dr strange reveals that wanda doesn;t have mutant powers-she is a very powerful sorceress who uses chaos magic.
Doug: All this sounds familiar.
Yeah, it was all loosely adapted into WandaVision. Wanda mourns vision, creates a spell to make her forget, has twin sons, loses twin sons, and vision is resurrected with no memory. In both the comics and the movies, the Avengers failed wanda, and it caused huge problems. Eventually, Wanda's grief and proximity to the Darkhold drove her mad in a multiverse of madness.
But back to the comics-following this event, the Avengers decided that they should disassemble the team, for personal reasons. They failed their friend, they caused chaos and destruction, so the world was better off without the Avengers. After this, wanda rewrites reality to create a perfect world where mutants rule the planet, and she has a large family-which is like wanda creating the sitcom reality in wandavision.
Following Avengers disassembled, there was a new Avengers team formed, with luke cage, wolverine, spider-man-and also the young Avengers, who I’ll talk about a little later in the video. - Кино

2026 actually that’s when the kang dynasty will be released because the strike along with Jonathan majors’s allegations which will possibly get him recasted caused it to be delayed again
I have a theory what if rhodey was swapped out as a skull during age of ultron ...hence why when he tells his war story it sounds like a story you say to impress a girl that's why he kept on telling the story so he ( the skull can blend in with everyone) but then realized that trick didn't work cause nobody cared then figured it can get in another way and that's how we got the Rhodes we see in secret invasion
Factor is also available in Canada!
Black Panther was supposed to be that movie.
LMBO😂😂 WHY Y'ALL DOING SKAR LIKE THAT😂😂 Y'ALL ARE WRONG FOR THAT ONE😂😂
The lack of Tony bankrolling the team is probably the biggest reason the team fell apart. The idea that Sam can't get a bank loan in F&TWS is just bonkers.
Sam has been “disappeared” for 5 years and was a fugitive for 2+ years before that. Idk why people think Sam not being able to get a loan is “bonkers”. Loans are given based off history and active income. Neither of which he had
@@BushDid420 The guy saved half the population of the planet, you don't think a rich person would help him out? How did Stark/Pepper not set up trusts for all the heroes and their families as a safe guard against a hero having money problems? The whole thing is very much like the Jedi Council leaving Anakin's mother as a slave on Tatooine and being blindsided when her getting killed caused problems. The banker even lampshades it during the scene in the bank.
That show cared more about providing social commentary than establishing a forward looking MCU plot.
Good point
Agreed
Rule number 1: Every phase should lead to an Avengers team up
I think they probably aren’t even officially disbanded, just that everyone just went their separate way until they were called for action. Even if this phase is weak in the eyes of the public I think it’s necessary to see some new heroes appear and give them time to develop and for the old heroes to solve some problems on their own as a form to give us more of the character before throwing them as the new big face of the avengers. Maybe I’m just too patient or don’t expect anything from Marvel but until now I’ve been enjoying phase 4 and can’t wait for the future to see how everything sets up the Avengers movies.
Facts
Same. Only things I really want are hulk to be hulk again and Spider-Man to not be as naive and have a fuller grasp of his skills. Hopefully in his early 20s. Try goin into each project with zero expectations. I’m already in and got my girl hooked the past few years.
Me too. I enjoyed not having the big crossover, but hope they have a plan to do something to bring it back together.
Not to mention there has not been any reason to Avengers to re-assemble. Black Widow was a prequel, Shang-Chi was quite contained towards the outside world, Eternals also was quite contained, Spider-Man: No Way Home already involved Doctor Strange, Doctor Strange was contained, Thor: Love and Thunder mostly was off earth and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was war between two nations. There was no real big threat to need Avengers. All the series that were part of Phase 4 also had no reason to involve whole team of heroes.
To me it makes total sense why there is no active Avengers. After Endgame the leadership is gone. Black Widow and Tony are dead and Cap is retired and Hawkeye is trying to retire as he was before the snap. From the original roster there is no real contender to be the leader and it would need someone new to step up to organize the team. Still as there has not been real threat to justify the re-assembling it has not yet happened.
They really needed to take the time to develop new characters and re-develop the old ones to get them ready to be more interesting when the new team is assembled as to me them being back with new roster almost immediately would have made it less impactful.
I also might be in the minority but in my opinion the Phase 4 movies were all fine and that most people are expecting way too much out of Marvel movies now after the Phase 3. Still they all can't be most iconic stuff some will be just entertaining movies and thats what I expect when I go watch a Marvel movie and so far I have not been disappointed. I can agree that some of the Disney+ series were not the best but even those were entertaining in some aspects.
@@Wezqucompletely agree. Seeing these new characters (that casual audiences aren’t yet entirely familiar with) teaming up immediately after their introductions would feel so forced. The older characters had to be given time to overcome their traumas and grief that stemmed from the aftermath of the blip/war with Thanos. Sam Wilson is just now getting ready to lead a new team.
I also think people forget that this is an entirely new saga. It takes time to develop a story with a worthy payoff. People can say Avengers 1 was just four years after Iron Man, but that was
1. Some of the most popular superheroes ever/much smaller roster
2. Loki was popular enough to be the main villain. I’m not sure someone like Hercules is, and they can’t use Doom/Galactus etc yet. Loki also wasn’t the endgame villain (pun intended), whereas Kang is.
3. The pandemic and industry strikes have made things tougher logistically for Disney.
4. Having more characters as a whole requires more shows/movies/special presentations. The need for all this content in the streaming era has led to both the experimentation and recent adjustments of the Disney+ format.
Honestly I wish the original team had a few more major battles before Thanos.
They did probably just off screen before civil war
@@justice_productions_they killed some kids?

@@Oneoneone111One well you’ll have a new team doing that soon plus all the solo adventures they had. Cap and black widow also teamed up in winter Solider. Hulk and Thor in ragnorak. Gotta take what you can
The Avengers vs Zodiac, or the Masters of Evil would've been nice...
The Avengers compound got destroyed in endgame and the team also lost their leader and primary benefactor. So even if they solve the leadership vacuum problem, who is going to pay for them to keep operating? They have enough enemies in government that the sokovia accords were created to try to stop them. Meanwhile, we saw in FWS that the new Captain America can't get a bank loan for something small. Even if you assume Wakanda will fund this, things have been kind of busy there with the Talocan invasion and nearly the entire Royal family being wiped out. Everybody has been busy with their individual problems. I'm sure we'll get more answers about this in CA4.
100%, but I do think they need to explain this a bit better.
Well done man 👏
Easy fix would be shang chi and the ten rings would fund it like Danny rand did for the new avengers after disassembled. They could even make shang the new iron fist and he could have access to ten cities riches.
@@rudesword2852 except that Shang Chi wanted nothing to do with his fathers fortune or resources in the movie. Unless you think his sister will fund a team that will ideologically oppose her
Well it’s a possibility that Peter could rise up and end up financing the Avengers. Either him or Pepper since she was Tony’s wife, and would probably want to continue her husbands work even if it means getting involved with the fights. Though the primary reason for the team not being together, is cuz they all have other responsibilities to them. From leading their people, to helping their families or training some new generation of hero’s or just trying to live their lives best as they can. Though I do wonder who would be part of the New Avengers. Especially if half the originals can’t come back.
I think the lack of Cap has been pretty glaring so far. You'd think a 'terrorist' attack on the President would be the sort of thing to make him (i.e. Sam, to be clear) sit up and take notice, even if they didn't have him on standby nearby anyway. I'm wondering at the moment if SWORD is going to be Fury's ace in the hole- we know the Skrulls don't seem to know much about it.
Yeah Captain America should definitely show up on Secret Invasion especially after the attack on the President.
@@dreskills2kyeah that made no sense. And it obviously had to take place before secret invasion, because of Rhodey! It’s strange that they’re all on pretty much the same area but never come help eachother out or reference eachothers fights
@@shisah5544 it’s called lazy writing
Ryan never learns from his mistakes. Every week he learns about the existence of Factor and yet he keeps returning to eat flour or something like that.
Just fast forward over that part 😂
During Civil War when they are discussing the accords Vision suggests by the very existence of the Avengers makes them and the Earth a target. Maybe in that context it's not as selfish as you think.
But Thanos proved that world-ending threats are going to keep appearing, regardless if the Avengers exist or not. Which is why it’s imperative that they exist.
If you kill off or eliminate characters because they worked for 10 years, you have to introduce new members before jump starting a new team. Sure another Avengers movie would be great but it takes time. This isn't a DCU team. Character development is a great thing.
Indeed there was a reason the dcu fell apart, they rushed it
Slow building to a new avengers team could be really dope. Have some heroes earn it or have OGs knight them. When they finally do and that theme is slapping I might fist pump or something lol nothing too crazy lol
Now this is true but to be fair they did have enough heroes left that could form a team. I think the perfect time for a new Avengers movie for Phase 4 would've been after Multiverse of madness, that way they can move some of their ideas for that movie involving the mulitverse into it's own movie aside from the charachter focused stuff for Doctor Strange, Wanda, and America. By that point Sam is captain america, Bucky's still around, Hawkeye's stuff is sorted out right along with Yelena and Kate Bishop being introduced, Shang Chi just got introduced, Bruce is still availiable, and Doctor Strange either would'nt have created an incursion or did but the Clea Cliffhanger instead goes right into that Avengers movie. And possibly Spiderman and Rhodey were options too, Sony would of had to say yes to that of course and then there's the skrull twist for Rhodey
OMG thank you!! Idk why no one else is saying this! Y'all the MCU started in 2008 if you're counting Iron Man as the start. Avengers was 2012. Good storytelling and character development takes time. It's called a callback because you're referencing some that already happened. We are doing the "happening" now so we can get amazing callbacks later. Be patient. It'll be worth it.
@@caerwyncensored Thank you saying that. Better than my post for sure. Patience is the key.
My hope is that the invasion isn't over after the show. Yes, Gravik and his plan will be stopped, but the rebel skrulls we don't know about are still out there among the main cast. Having a hero revealed as a skrull in an unrelated story would be pretty cool
They will show up in fantastic 4. Not before then.
Imagine if Spidey 4 will show Spidey getting framed for a murder he’s not guilty of and they reveal that it was none other than Chameleon posing as Spider-Man but they then double revel that he’s a Skrull and not human.
A million Skrulls is not going to just disappear after the final episode.😅
Wouldn’t really make sense due to skrulls can’t copy the unnatural abilities the hero’s have
Fury blipping and then leaving caused them to fall apart. We saw Cap, Nat, and Okoye TRY to keep some things together, but Fury was the glue.... I hope we see Fury rematerialize from the blip and follow his reaction.
He comes back as he finishes saying Mother fucker, so all you hear is “…ker” as he comes back
@@FourthStreetSaintWhat did you call him
He will die in SI
@@JonathanRodriguez-vr1qx they already said The Marvels takes place after Secret Invasion so he can’t die unless it turns out Fury is a skrull in SI or The Marvels
I always saw Tony as the glue. Fury manipulated the beginning of the team, but it felt like - in the MCU- Tony was the heart of it. He bankrolled the team, invented new stuff for them, provided Avengers tower... Also, they never really get into, but it always felt like his support also handled legal and clean up and things that they don't get into. But that are real and would be problems without someone like him.
Of course, some of his ideas that seemed like a good idea. Ended up causing problems- - like the great backstory for the Vulture.
Practically, Nick Fury was there, and supportive, but he's also portrayed as being in charge of the organization that was full of Hydra.
I always had the feeling that -because Ironman was the beginning and such a hit- they built around RDJ because he was so dynamic. Of course there was the negative that they were paying him through the nose and he wasn't going to continue to stay forever...
The original films had that strong through line story between Cap and Iron Man- and everything was either adjacent to or part of that story. It doesn't feel like we have a throughline story right now. Other than maybe Loki? But that feels like ... Loki & the TBA feels like it's *going to be * the throughline, but that they're going to get back to it when they feel like it.
Totally agree that individual heroes should appear and crossover with one another.
I think they just lack a leader. Nick first got them together, Tony and Cap retiring, Nat seemed to be running things but now she's dead. It will probably end up being Reed and maybe they're setting up Rhodey in armor wars, like he comes back after having been replaced by a skrull he feels responsible for keeping Tony's legacy alive.
Technically there IS a sort of backup team behind the scenes. Wong, Bruce, and Captain Marvel are still in contact with each other as far as we know, and they essentially have contacts with their own subset of people who could easily form an avengers like group if need be. Wong being with Strange, America Shavez and Clea, Marvel with GotG (and the other marvels). Bruce with Jenifer, and probably Scott Lang too.
I don't think Reed is going to be an avenger. He will have enough to deal with being part of the Fantastic 4
I do agree that it would've been nice to have an Avengers movie for Phase 4. However, a common complaint about the MCU was that you needed to see everything to understand what was going on and that no movie really stood on its own, not connected to anything. With Phase 4, both "issues" were touched on with projects like Eternals and Moon Knight, and now people are complaining about it.
THANK YOU! The complaint before was that Everything was too connected. Now that they tell more isolated stories, now it’s not connected enough. Phase 4 really was about diversifying the way they told stories because the formula had already been stale through the first 3 phases. They actively try to buck the trend, and they get criticized for it too. Honestly, fans and viewers don’t know what they want from this franchise anymore. Sad by product of the MCUs own success
👏🏽 finally. All i see is people moaning and complaining. I do agree some of them suck, but I know the later on one's are going to be enough. I did not know all these movies were related up until 2016. I use tk watch them for the sake of it. Then It all kicked in as I rewatchef them all to understand it.
Most of the movies between Avengers movies were solid stand alone movies. They all built towards the Avengers movies as well.
Did you have to watch them all? Not really.
In phase 4 nothing was connected or built to any sort of climax. All of those movies and shows that didn't build to anything or something that climaxes in Phase 6 at best.
There were 4 or 5 movies and then an Avengers movie.
Now there have been 10 movies and countless TV series but no payoff.
At the rate they are going, it will be a total of 16 movies since the last Avengers movie.
Before there was an Avengers movie every 4, 3, and 3 years. It will be about 6 or 7 years between Endgame and the next Avengers movie.
@@5thdawg917 Let's also not pretend that EVERYTHING from Phase 1-3 were home runs. There were certainly duds, and stretches of ehhh. To me, even the supposed low-points of Phase 4 are no worse than anything in Phases 1 and 2; I think the problem is just the sheer VOLUME of content now.
@@darekforeman535 Not all of them, tbh. Phase One, only two movies are really worth praise, which were the first Iron Man and the first Avengers movies. Phase Two, the only movies really well received by and large were Winter Soldier and Guardians 1. Phase Three was where we had a streak, but even then, there was a lull between Infinity War and Endgame. In terms of everything being connected, again that was actually a complaint among general audiences through the first 3 phases: the fact that you had to know certain movies in order to understand the present movie. So Marvel tries to buck that trend and tell more isolated stories, and now they're getting criticized for that too? The general quality of the Phase 4/5 projects is up for debate, but for me personally, I don't think they're any worse than anything in the earlier phases. As for being isolated stories, there's nothing wrong with that. Of course they want you to watch them all, but the fact of the matter is like you said: Do you have to watch them all? Not really.
The only real answer to "were are the Avengers" is: they are to expensive....
The Avengers don't even know each other, or at least the new ones don't.
i mean yeah but we also don’t have an avengers movie yet so that’s when a lot of them will probably meet
Well if Shang Chi and Doctor Strange are on the new Avengers team then Bruce Banner already knows both of them.
@WryDragon6988 Yes, but does She-Hulk know Kate Bishop? Or does White Vision know Falcon? Probably not. So they'd all have to meet.
Something I questioned during WandaVision you reminded me of when you said Wanda only had Vision. She had a relationship with Clint. His son’s middle name is Pietro. He “rescued” her when Tony had her on house arrest in Civil War. The 2 of them had the talk about Nat & Vision after Tony’s funeral which gave Wanda the idea to find Vision’s body to give him a burial.
Clint named his child that because of the selflessness of pietro in Age of Ultron.
Coming out of Endgame, Kevin Feige appeared to be gravitating towards Carol Danvers as taking the place of Steve and Tony as the face of Marvel going forward. It's now four years after Endgame and we've only seen Carol in two credits scenes (Shang-Chi and Ms. Marvel). Yes, the Marvels is coming about this fall and I think it will be a great movie, but it appears that Sam Wilson will be the one to reform the Avengers this time.
Sam will be the inevitable leader of the Avengers.
Disney can't afford to pay the Avengers anymore....
Facts it’s very simple marvel didn’t have the budget to turn this into a team up movie so they shortened it to a mediocre series
@@javongarnett41mate this show is so dull, I'm truly saddened that this is the representation of the comics they've chosen to go with.
@@aj_art8058 dull? you're not watching the same show lmao
The MCU was always "too real", most people in this world wouldn't live the life of an "Avenger" without some kind of compensation. They were bound to disband.
But at some point, Rhodey was replaced by a Skrull. And that was actually Talos and Soren disguised as Fury and Hill.
Also imagine this:
Beedo, the young skrull who was present for a lot of graviks crimes, wracked with shame over his part in everything, still young and wanting to make a difference. He turns to nick in the clearing smoke after the final battle, and pleading with everything in him, asks to be given the chance to make things right. So as fury pats him on the back and welcomes him to the new team, and they begin to walk into the smoke, he says "were gonna have to get you a superhero name" and beedo responds, "well, i have always liked the hulk" and fury laughs with his gut and composes himself and says "man the hulk?! youre so small youd be lucky to be called HULKLING hahahahah!!!!" as the shot fades out, and series 1 ends.
fingers crossed!
I would like you to talk about the implications of Bob Iger's comments about cutting Marvel + Star Wars content, on top of the SAG joining the writer's strike. Seems like things will get comlicated to those franchises.
James Rhodes expressed doing multiple tours of duty and only being almost mortally injured because of his time with the Avengers. Plus, Thaddeus Ross was probably going to make his life hell after disobeying him. Rhodes deserved a life and some real character development.
Or Ross could go the other way. Ross had to do what he did and as a patriot deep down he agreed with what Rhoady did.
I think Quantumania could have used a mini team-up in the third act. I don't know who else could have fit in but Jennifer Walters could have easily been written into the movie as Scott's or even the Pym's new lawyer. We see her introduced in an early scene after traveling in to meet the Pyms and they set up a later meeting together with Scott. When Scott and the Pyms are late (after they get sucked into the QR) she drives to their house. When they first open the portal for Cassie and the Pyms to come back, Jen sees them and gets back in with Hope to help Scott and together they send Kang into oblivion. I think this would have alleviated some of the criticism towards Kang being "beaten by Ant-Man and ants" and it would shake the formula a bit by opening a phase with a pseudo-Avengers movie while also introducing a Phase 4 character onto the big screen. I went on a bit there but I would have loved to see Scott and the movie get some support, in all manners. Also, I love Tatiana Maslany ❤.
What if Cassy was killed by Kang. Its lazy writing when a villain who is considered worse than Thanos is beaten twice. MSheU is killing legacy characters and shoving copyclones of them.

It seems like Marvel are trying to have their cake and eat it too...the post credits scene of Shang-Chi and She-Hulk made it seem as though Banner, Wong and Danvers were forming a new Avengers team, but then things like Far From Home, WandaVision, Wakanda Forever and Secret Invasion make it clear that there are no Avengers...both the lack of internal consistency and intriguing teases that lead to nothing are very frustrating
They're forming a new Avengers team BECAUSE there are no Avengers post the events of IW and EG. The existing guys like Falcon are conducting government funded missions, otherwise there is no infrastructure supporting a formal team. The "is there or isn't there?" perceptions shown in the recent films and shows reflects the situation is in flux, prior to this interim situation being resolved by the next Avengers movies.
I think that's the point what they're trying to show is that everything is in disarray, no one really knows what is going on. It would make it so much easier for Kang to kill heros off in Dynasty because there's no unity/team to stop him. Which will make a greater impact on the hero's to make a team to beat Kang

All this! Exactly what i have been ranting about to my friends for the last year and why everything is falling so flat.
Excellent video, in fact, if you think about it, before the avengers movies, this union did not exist and with the emergence of the daring Loki and the subtlety that Fury when showing the death of Agent Couson, this motivates the team, I think, that needs a reason bigger and more menacing like Arishen, who is sworn to judge humanity and is perhaps the pivot of Secret Wars rather than the Beyonder. Who knows, after The Marvels, the reason will emerge. For now, it has unique villains for each character, and nothing unique like Loki, Thanos or Ultron. Hugs.
The mid credit scene of Shang chi implies a degree of liaaon continuing between the smartest individual left (Banner) the most powerful (Danvers) and the best equipped force (karmataj-soucerer supreme)
Anyway huge global threat doesnt necessarily lead to greater coordination but rather some degree of the opposite: chaos and actors working on behalf of themselves.... look at the last few years
Id love to see a MCU version of one of my favorite Avengers Eras. Black Knight/Hercules/Sersi and others. Wouldnt be able to do an exact team for various reasons, but they could pull together a combo of that and the New Avengers era.
I’d love to see MCU put SANTA in the time line. Like maybe a Xmas special/short movie.
I totally agree with everything you said, so many things are going on and it doesn't seem connected... the thrill of movies is gone...i miss steve, thor, loki and tony

I do wonder if, after all that happened in Secret Invasion, Fury decides he needs to compile a list of heroes to combat the threats he always knew was there? 🤔 maybe we see that list at the end of Secret Invasion, now that there are super Skrulls? 🤷♀️
Am I the only one who can't stop thinking, pondering on when exactly Rhody was replaced by a skrull? I really need to know this 😬!
I'm sure they'll reveal it in future episodes.
My own personal opinion; if Marvel/Disney really wanted to mess with our heads, they'd probably try to recton it by saying that Rhodey was replaced by a Skrull as far back as Iron Man 2, such that that's the reason why Rhodey looks different. It would basically break the fourth wall/be so meta, to say that the real Rhodey was Terrence Howard's version and the Skrull was Don Cheadle's version. They'll say that the dialogue where Rhodey tells Tony; "It's me, I'm here, deal with it." Is the Skrull shutting down any doubts as to his appearance.
Maybe when he crashed and nearly died
if they manage to say Rhodey was a skrull since back in Iron man 2, they gotta really make sure there’s no plotholes to everything that happened to Rhodey - although Rhodey being a skrull the whole time is gonna have quite the wow factor. My guess is Rhodey was replaced after the events of end game after the blip and when they all went back to their normal lives. that’s about the time when he was most vulnerable (not needing/using war machine much) and the skrull faction was alr secretly ramping up the execution of their secret invasion plans. I felt phase 4, while not to the highest of quality as the previous phases, was absolutely necessary to see how the old heroes dealt with the events from Endgame and also introducing origin stories for the new heroes. They do seem alot more disjointed than before but I feel like phase 1 was originally like that until it all came together in Avengers.
ye but how many of them actually covered it? Falcon, Wanda, a little bit in Guardians, (anything else?)
@@THE_INFECTED Falcon, Winter Soldier, Wanda, Hawkeye, Guardians, Thor, Spider-Man, Loki, even Ant-Man even though that was the start of phase 5. Black Panther, even though it wasnt really event of Endgame, more so Chadwick's death
@@adrianzjackson7342 oh forgot Hawkeye my bad, Antman (eh they just skimmed over it in 5 mins we don’t even see it. It’s just a mention by Scott’s monologue), Spider-Man (more about Tony’s death for far from home and completely jokes over the fact there was a blip and no way home just continues the story of far), Thor(hahahahahahahaha), Loki (I dunno it’s more setting up Kang not really consequences after endgame) and Black Panther was Chadwick’s death. Also by Falcon I meant the tv show so both Falcon and winter soldier.
@@THE_INFECTED Did you watch any of those movies and shows? The reason Ant-man isnt doing super hero work and wants his kid to stay out of trouble is because of how dangerous Endgame was and how he wants to live his fame life and just live off the victory of Endgame. Thor is trying to find a purpose and meaning in the rest of his life now that the big bad in Thanos is gone, there's no war to fight and he doesn't have the love of his life anymore. The reason Loki ended up in the TVA in the first place...is because of the events of Endgame. It is breaking my heart to hear you losing faith in the MCU... I have continued to love every moment of it... at one point I just decided to trust the process... and they continue to readapt my childhood which leaves me feeling fuzzy, inside! :)
Nice video. Got new perspective on MCU
Great video! Lots of good details and explanations. I kind of agree on some of your points how Marvel failed a bit with Phase 4 of the MCU. Also, with a certain person being a Skrull - that may also have some weight on what is going on with where the Avengers are... also a lot of them have gone off to do their own thing.
The issue with phase 4 has been introduction of too many characters and very little cross over between these characters. I mean the fact we haven't seen some of these characters in 2 years is crazy. I admittedly don't know alot about the comics but if they have been teasing a young avengers, the thunderbolts its just to much. the first 10 years worked because your main characters were Iron man, Captain America, Thor and thru those movies were able to introduce the others in Black Widow, Hawkeye and Hulk. Phase 4 should have been about establishing the likes of Spider man, Dr. Strange, Sam Wilson and a couple others as the next avengers.
I kinda disagree, IMO the reason avengers felt so epic was because it was a crossover of existing characters. There were a few links here and there, but Avengers showed everyone in their full glory. Seeing your favorite individual characters team up is more epic than watching the full team doing the same things in every showing
@@calvinwilson3617 i agree with what you are saying. I'm not saying I need everyone showing up in everything. My point is like take characters like she hulk, moonknight, the entire eternals cast. Are these characters going to be that important to the overall mcu? I mean there has been no reference to the events in eternals and that movie is what 2 years old this fall?
Nick Fury could have brought the new WHITE Vision in the secret invasion MCU series 😂
I personally think delaying their re-assembling is the right move. They each had personal reasons as you mentioned, as they dealt with the fallout of the war/blip. Phase four also had the responsibility of introducing new characters, many of which aren’t that well known to casual audiences. And speaking of casual audiences, many have complained about MCU fatigue post-endgame. Jumping back into an avengers type of movie could be seen as premature, missing the gratification that comes with a long term development and a well earned payoff. Gotta remember that it’s a new saga. I wouldn’t want to see Moon Knight, She-Hulk, young avengers etc team up immediately after their respective debuts. It’d feel forced. They just have so many characters to flesh out and so many older characters to evolve. Fury being off planet for so long didn’t help with the issue of a lack of leadership either. Maybe I’ll get impatient by 2025 but for now I don’t mind building it all up to Kang Dynasty.
Hey Ryan, this is how "Brave New World" should go for it to be a great movie!
Ryan, this is how Captain America
Brave New World should start.
1. The movie opens with Sam on a Mission for President Ritson. Sam also has men on the ground.
2. Back and forth between Sam and the Sit Room (Ritson). Sam saves the day but the men on the ground are all killed by something, maybe an American drone or another American team (Unknown)
3. Cut to a US base where a mysterious soldier says "It is done" to an unknown caller.
4. Marvel comic intro
5. News montage of current news, Skrulls rights and propaganda, Sam's Mision, Ritson seen as weak, Ross on the attack, Superhero argument, Aliens on earth? Who will protect us? In the end you see Ross wins the Presidency.
6. Fast forward 6 months.
7. Ross asks Sam to go on a mission that should end in Sam's death but he's saved somehow, maybe by the New Falcon or Maybe Bucky led by Fury.
8. Fury has a lead on what happened on the failed mission last year which leads to The Leader.
9. At the same time Ross, and Valentine are tracking down Sam cause they know Fury is back and could out them. It's a race to the information.
10. The Leader also has his plan aside from hiding from Sam and Fury including Betty Ross somehow.
11. Sam Bucky, Falcon Fury and maybe someone new eventually foils the Leaders plan with the help of Agent 13
12. Sam finds out that Ross is behind The Leader and also tried to have him killed but Ross destroys and kills all the evidence. Fury also has evidence makes a deal with Ross to leave them alone.
13. Sam goes off to recruit the New Avenger for Fury to end the movie
Mid credit - Power Broker and Valentine talk about how their plan worked to perfection, then enter the Thunderbolts
Post Ctedit,Ross gets his hands The Leaders Hulk serum.
I don't grant the premise that The Avengers would have shown up if the President was under attack. Maybe some would, Iron Patriot, Hawkeye, maybe a couple others. But the Avengers as a group were formed to deal with planetary-level threats. Plus, it's right in their name ... they only show up to take back what was lost. They AVENGE.
It was also in the UK and the attack just happened, they wouldn't have a way to get there, let alone know it was even happening. Let's say Sam and Bucky are waiting by the phone in Washington DC, even in super, sci-fi Quinjets, they're a good hour or so away from the UK. We saw this in Avenges 1 with how long it took the Avengers to get to Loki, and how Thor intercepted them on the return to the Heliicarrier.
Like, Secret Invasion has presence in London. Perfect opportunity to introduce Brian Braddock Captain Britain, who isn't a mutant, but is a direct link to one, without actively showing or namedropping Psylocke.
Also in iron man 3 no other avengers showed up when that president was captured.
Avengers don't magically know everything that's happening when there's a disaster. They need a network of people to gather intelligence on where they need to go and what they need to do. Without Tony, the Avengers will have to rely on governments and militaries for intelligence. But with the Skrulls replacing government and military officials, they can give false intelligence to the Avengers.

All we need is an end credit scene where Sam turns around and says thanks for coming everyone and you see a bunch of the newer and older heroes all standing in one room just to tease the roster doesnt have to be a big scene but it will literally break the internet and im not saying that ironically.
We always harp about character development, but when characters (like in phase 4) go thru a breaking of their spirit and go thru their own personal stresses, we call it “weak”. It’s not unheard of for the avengers to disband and reconstitute without their major participants. That down time has given us some amazing stories about other characters that would have otherwise been squeezed out by established, foundational, but ultimately boring and recursive plot lines, dilemmas, challenges, and same of the same storytelling with beating to death characters. Then all we would have is new useless costumes (the 90’s anyone?).
Personally, I like the fact that none of these movies are all connected and intertwined. It gives the entire scope of the MCU a much broader outlook. With phases 1 to 3 we were so used to just seeing the one main villain lucratively plan out a big attack by using all of those people as tools but now we come to realize how big the universe is in marvel or the multi-verse, rather so now a lot of people don’t seem to like that but I think it works perfectly. For example, after the blip in endgame Carol mentioned the fact that the problems happening on earth are happening everywhere, but we like to focus things too much on a team group that’s just centered on what’s going on planet earth. but there’s so much going on around the rest of the universe that we don’t need everything to just connect with the team grouping up together on earth to fight one villain, or whatever the case may be we already know that Kang is the main villain of the saga. So once the plot starts leading into its climax, it’s going to be a call to why there are two split avengers movies, which is why Kang is probably going to win because no one was really prepared as a group Kang just came and attacked and everyone being so distant and spaced out all over the universe, is what causes their initial defeat.
100% agree, IMO that's what made Avengers so satisfying. The individual movies focused on their characters, then there was an epic team up. Marvel has transitioned to constant team situations, and it really hurts the franchise IMO
Which Avengers? Who from that team is even left and active other than Falcon?
That sound played over Skaar was epic…more of that please.

Gravik could also have spent some years systematically dissasembling of the avengers, maybe thats what he meant by having thought about at the council meeting.
Can the MCU survive without the Avengers?

It can, but it’s all going to depend on the XMen content
Oh hell na
You didn't need confirmation that they broke up. It's been 100% clear. There are very few actual Avengers left, and there are just 2 MCU movies that open with an Avengers team already intact (Age of Ultron and Civil War)

Imagine Secret Invasion has a big scale Avengers Movie towards the end of Phase 4 that puts back the Avengers together, and then imagine a World War 3 type Avengers movie that splits them in Phase 5, that would have truly made a difference.
Guess I assumed he meant like came there to respond tho the threat or whatever not that they would reunite. Seems like that would be the correct word to describe them getting back together after disbanding as apposed to popping up and causing them problems
I’ll tell you why no avengers..”because it’s personal” 🤣🤣🤣
I 100% agree, phase 4 was a great phase in introducing new characters and setting up phase 5, but without an avengers movie, it felt like a culminating event was missing to bring together the new heroes. But we do expect the avengers to be live and in action for Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. Secret Invasion and Loki are great series’s that introduce new antagonists.
Eating raw corn meal as a setup for an ad roll is some of the funniest stuff I've seen on the internet in WHILE!!!!
I feel like they're also trying to build out the world and rushing it. Like they could have after endgame had phase four with adding more hero's and the avengers getting really diluted. Then before doing the king dynasty do a secret Invasion phase where because the team is so big and there are skrulls everywhere the team falls apart through mistrust then setting the stage for king to take on them and reunite the avengers.
This is precisely why Civil War worked the way it did. Can you imagine how Civil War ended up if it was only Thunderbolt Ross telling Captain America about the Sokovia Accords?
"I have agents out, tracking down the rest of your team. Just to make sure you aren't thinking of colluding about and avoid signing the Sokovia Accords."
Then we only see Captain America trying to save Bucky from being arrested and the only other character we see is Iron Man to stop him. It would work, as the basic premise is there, but it would *feel empty* since we know this affects every Avenger we've followed and then they only show us 2 Avengers and a rogue.
Some of the cameos in Civil War wasn't really necessary, but it was important to the world building of this story that we've followed for years. The Russos understood that, hence we got Civil War as a mini Avengers movie.
Idk if I can wait 2 years for Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. It’s gonna be crazy and I feel like the overall power of all the superheroes has gone down after endgame.

Its entertaining, but felt hollow and i could t put my finger on it.... you have nailed it .
I do agree with needing a formal team-up film so that the individual threads can be tied closer together with each other. Ironically, though, the biggest complaint I hear/read from people is that one HAS to watch everything to fully get what's really going on. It's a balancing act that they did better in the first three phases, but they also didn't have the TV shows (outside SHIELD) and the amount of movies that were pushed out, probably against Feige's desire, so it was easier to tie things together.
As much as I've enjoyed every Disney+ show, Chapek's mandate of more content really screwed phase 4 up, and we'll probably still see some of that in phase 5. If Feige had been able to stick to the plan used in the first three phases, we probably wouldn't be having this discussion.
BRUHHH THAT FFH SKRULL RESENTMENT FORESHADOW IS JUST MINDBLOWING
13:14 Can’t stop laughing 😂😂
6:40 17:58 I wonder why Captain Marvel & Nick Fury haven't led the Skrulls to planet where Thanos had his garden tbh.
Cpt Marvel came across that planet shortly after the blip so she had *plenty* of time to lead the Skrulls there.
The rumors were saying Sam’s going to assemble a team for the 3rd act to fight red hulk and the other villains and they were saying supposedly it’s supposed to have the most characters since endgame and infinity war
I wanna know what was ADR'd over when Fury said "....find themselves turned into...terrorists"
Hey ScreenCrush, how about a recap for Mission Impossible 1-6? I wanna go watch Dead Reckoning but ain't got 15 hours to watch the previous movies again.
One caveat is that there is an Avenger… Rhodey! He’s supposed to be in an Iron man suit for that very reason. So why bother assigning Avengers to the President? They just didn’t know he’s a Skrull
The irony is if the comic storyline was basically followed, it would have been a great mini-series.
In the comic secret invasion, at the start, off-screen Fury had already figured out that Shield and most of the Avengers had been replaced. He secretly kidnapped those heroes he confirmed were not replaced and made a team out of them. It was a good storyline. And a much needed one after the mess of Civil War and World War Hulk. The following storyline Dark Reign was also good.
The bes way would be to focus on the City Level heroes, after the big ones left. It would be really nice to see some of them help Fury or other Guys to sovle some Earh based problems. I know that Thunderboldts will be doing this kind of stuff but i feel that's too late to do such a thing. Avengers EMH cartoon had this "Team B" concept and it was really good.
a lot of people don't understand that we basically had 3 avengers movies, infinity war and end-game was a 2 part film...what i mean by this is The three-act structure is a model used that divides a story into three parts (acts), often called the Setup, the Confrontation, and the Resolution. the first avengers movie brought the avengers together, the SETUP , age of ultron was set to make the avengers CONFRONT their biggest enemy (themselves) and understanding the responsibility and the sacrifice it takes to be an avenger this leads into civil war having to deal with the consequences of being an avenger and using personal influences to pull them closer or further away from being an avenger this didn't only create a war amongst themselves but within each person individually dealing with the real CONFRONTATION of being an avenger, civil war ended with the avengers thinking they had a choice of being a hero or not and that the avengers is a group and not a way of life, infinity war and end game RESOLVED the problem showing that you can lose more divided (infintity-war) than you can achieve together ,giving them no choice (end-game) this gave everyone no choice but to work together...the moral of this 3 act story is that the avengers is not a group or a choice...it's realizing the great responsibility that comes with great power and showing the avengers they don't really have a choice of being one. the reason we dont have a physical group of avengers right now is because it is not necessary and as vision said in civil war that just having the physical representation of the avengers attracts stronger villains basically the stronger the force the greater the resistance.
so in kang dynasty they will basically be presented a problem big enough (probably of their own making) to give them a reason for the avengers to assemble, secret wars part 1 will confront this problem (which will probably be the "secret war" within oneself facing our demons) this will be physically represented of that with alternate version of themselves. Secret wars part 2 will be the point where they find a resolution (what it means to be an avenger) we've already seen a good example of this in Loki
Yeah I agree they are not doing as much crossovers that matter. Sure some people are showing up in diffferent series but it needs to be bigger now that phase 5 is here. They are stretching it out too much. I really am thinking that something big is going to have in Secret Invasion. It seems like the kind of thing that would bring something major, especially with Sam Jackson involved. What if he meets up with Val at the end of this, that would be good. Also I think Thunderbolt Ross could show up as well
The reason phase 1-3 worked is because all the hero's bar the guardians and Dr strange essentially shared a world. Pretty much every hero in phase 1 had some ties to a government or government agency. All of the hero's had something that made it easy to understand how they would meet eachother.
Now we have less of those kind of characters and more characters from completely different worlds from Dr strange to ms marvel, this will make it much harder to get them in the same films as eachother so we will probably see a team up film with half of the hero's missing because they are doing a different thing . Maybe 2 side by side team up films explaining what's happening with the grounded MCU and then the more mystical MCU .I don't think we will see Wanda fighting alongside Bucky any time soon ..
I agree a little team up teaser film would have been great.
Yo, the Bilbo Baggins clip is spot on! Busted me up a bit bit!
