VW TDI there 4 cylinder small footprint easy to find cheap and they adapt to any transmission and they will make 300hp just look into it you’ll be surprised at how much support there is for it or use a turbo echo tech out of a Cruze and turn it up
I wish they were cheap 😅 spent 4k on the car tore the engine apart we all know if you do that you need go fast goodies I'm about 9k deep 😅 and the adapter to the toyota Trans was 4k 🥲

@@Gettinbentoffroad dang man I bet it will be nasty when it’s done we have about 4K in everything on ours and that was buying stuff we didnt need to have just wanted it… but we buy our cars from Copart for next to nothing so we save a lot of money there if I paid 4K for a car I could see why your close to 9k… the last 3 that I’ve bought from Copart the most expensive was 950 and it was a diesel Passat that got rear ended the other too were under 500
@benjaminblaazavich5471 could the diff be weld in the factory trans..so driveshafts could turn the axles? Like the some of the buggies using Honda motor/trans?
@@bushjeeps I’m sure you could weld the diff but idk if I would go straight to the axles… that’s a lot of load on 43 stickies and that little transmission would have to put in some work… might be able to build a cap for one side and run the other side shaft to a divorce ford 205 but still putting so much stress on the trans but atleast you could gear reduct the transfer case… I’d run a th400 or find a Toyota 5speed and transfer case
I love 6.0’s too! They kept the lights on at Murphys truck repair the first year I was in business.

Hey guys I have a 2013 vw jetta with the 2.0 tdi diesel, with a salvage title (rear end accident) I would let go. It has like 85k miles on it runs great. I'm in Davis County

I would recommend one of two engines (1) 3.0 VW TDI (Malone tunable to 325 Hp & 500 lb-ft). it's a v6, so it's compact. and Northwest Fab makes adapters for it to whatever. Or, (2) the BMW M57, which is an inline 6, compound turbo setup. Malone makes a tune for it that will see 380 Hp & 570 lb-ft. Both options weigh way less than a 4Bt and make way more power for the money.
What A Dean Of A Project 👌🏼
I’d go with a a vw 1.9 tdi. They are dimensionally small, weigh almost nothing, and parts are readily available, I’d be worried with a 4bt as they are a fairly tall motor and you might run into axle to oil pan/ valve cover to cab clearance issue. A dry sump would help on either option though. Also, if this doesn’t have an exhaust stack Gunner will not approve!
I can 100% promise a stack if we can figure out a diesel 😂😂 we need to look into these TDI’s

So sweet that the little Peck boys are so close in age to each other. Instant BFF! I had 4 sisters, two older, two younger. I was born 5 days before my sister was one so we are Irish twins. I just turned 71 while she has turned 39 for the 30+ time. LOL Gunner and Beau are both adorable. So happy for you all.

I hope you don't have any issues with the new Hysters motor. GM doesn't make any parts for it any more. A PSI/Mitsubishi 2.4 will fit right in.

I used to work on that exact same model for living.
TDI can be adapted to a GM trans. That F350 was clean by Ohio standards.
That idea is perfect and will save tons of time and actually make a decent yet stiff ride .. but it will handle a jeep tow no worries.. Fun to watch you guys and your energy..

4 cylinder 4bd1t or 4bd2t diesel, both are easy to find in isuzu cab over trucks and the make bell housing adapters that go straight from the engine to a Chevy trans

TDI, om606, 617 or 605 should work for you guys. R2.8 would be sick too, the 4bt is a good motor just reaallllly heavy.

For what they want to do a 1.4 TDI would be a better option at around the same size
Hyster forklifts are the best I drove them for 40 years. A good forklift makes projects a lot easier.
I wonder if anyone has tried building a mini off road wrecker out of one of those kei trucks. If setup right it could at least be a good support vehicle. Those things can really goat around and pretty good reliability. Could easily recover small rigs, 4x4s, side by sides, cars. Add a land anchor to maximize pulling ability and itd be sick.
I have a bullet proof 6.0 in my old 2003 excursion. and after the bullet proof job done 10 years ago it has been amazing, I pull a 30 foot boat around Alaska with this rig and never had any issues.. yes those engines need the fixes , yet after you do a proper bullet proof with the heads etc. you will love that thing.. hope you find a project for that engine tranny 4x4 6.0

Thank outside the box on the little wrecker install axle about 4 foot ahead of front bumper find you about a 48 Ford hood to put in front of the windshield cover the motor now you have room for the 6 0

Mercedes turbo diesel either om605 5 cylinder or the om606 6 cylinder. Diesel pump uk on youtube has tons of information on them and they build crazy power and turn lots of rpms! Plus with one of their injection pumps ypu can make it mechanical instead of electronic, less wiring to deal with! 😁 plus there is companies out there that make adaptors to run chevy transmissions behind them.

Superturdy's do have great axles. Loved the 6.0 PS commercial for all the reasons they are hated.

I agree with another subscriber's comment. The VW 4cyl diesel is small, lightweight, adaptable to just about any transmission/transfer case.

On propane powered motors I want to say there is a sensor or something like an oil pressure sensor that shuts off the propane when the motor is stopped. That may be bad. So it takes a bunch of cranking to get it to work.

Love it guys!!! if want a screamer of a cool rig run a 4-53 detroit (dime a dozen!) with a eaton 6-13 transmission.. and a divorced transfer case.. what would be cooler than a offroad wrecker mini truck with a screamin 2 stoke diesel and 13 gears to jamb through!!!! LOL

4bt with TH400 and twin stick ford NP205 twin stick, custom rear suspension on air bags to handle heavy load have the rear tires maybe couple inches past the rear bumper to help with inclines
