Great job on the Pro review side for you. Personal preference on paddle mods was interesting. Glad to hear that the durability of Proton is that good for a pro. Seems like white face has more influence on seeing face "angle" than the ball coming off.
I mean you heard daescu say that he has been using his paddle for 4 months, all of the other pros are swapping out their paddles every tournament. This paddle will EASILY outlast 2 of the industry standard thermoformed paddles. And if it doesnt it has a lifetime warranty, price may seem high, but actually is a steal IMO.
Hey John. Thanks for a very interesting and informative podcast with Andrei and Meghan and their Proton paddles. Loved the insight into their setups. I also enjoyed your review of the 15mm versions. Any insight into what the swing weight might be for the Type 1 Series A Square 11mm?
I emailed the company about the elongated 11mm. They responded that the swing weight for the series one type a 11 mm elongated is 119. I can only assume that the widebody 11 mm is slightly less than that.
@@johnkewpickleballalso hoping for the 11 mm review if possible. Seems like some of us have ordered as far back January, and because of component shortages, we have not seen our paddles yet.
@JohnKew would you go with this over a Ruby for longer lasting durability? 3 weeks on a Ruby but kinda want to send it back for one of these since they have a lifetime warranty… seems like a better deal even though they are a bit more expensive
Just saw this on AD’s paddle. Is the top of the “t” on the name pretty much the center of the sweet spot on that type-A wide body? It wouldn’t surprise me if they were using a savvy designer.
No, I just ordered. I wanted to order one awhile ago and couldn't, and got very little response to emails. So my early impression was also that they were hard to reach. Still I need to try one. :)
I will. Great work as always John. I've gone from Powerair to Legacy (to delam) to Apes 17", to Legacy again and now GB PP elong. What's a little nomex? Haha. Thanks for all the paddle nerd crack.
Has anyone ordered and received one of these? I ordered on Jan. 31. Proton site said they would ship Feb. 1. As of Feb. 5, I haven't gotten any information other than an order received email on Jan. 31. I'll update this if it ships or I hear anything. If anyone has gotten one, please let us know. :) I'm afraid they're blowing the rollout badly by jacking the price and then creating an info black hole.
Interesting paddles. When are they going to come up with adult versions? Current designs are great for a 5-10 year old girl but I wouldn't get caught playing with one of those.
Great new take on paddle reviews. Getting the pro point of view on the paddles they use is great. Nice job I hope you do more of these.
Thank you all three. Great interview and information.
Love the interview model. More please

Loving the content these past couple months. Big up! Gotta meet up at the FoodPub soon with Tony
Hey Adam, good to see you here!
Andrei......ce mai faci? Great interview.
Love the pros on the pod! Please keep doing these! Thank you John.
$280 that's a deal buster for me

Thanks man, and they’re sending me an 11mm, so I’ll put that on my database when I get it

I am interested in trying the 11mm but worried thet it might be too poppy. The 15 is too heavy i think
Great interview and perfect follow-up to John's paddle review. I thought John was in Africa now??
Coming to you from Saudi Arabia! I recorded this one before I left
John, any data on the 11mm version of the Series One, Type A, Square model? Didn't see any on your database.
John, not sure if you take requests but, could you possibly do a review on the new Franklin FS Tour Dynasty?
I'm with Andrei on the color schemes for paddles, all the black is boring. Pros are so good they need a challege!
I like that 6.0 hoodie you have on
It’s the most comfortable hoodie I have ever the inside feels like mink

I’m just getting back from my trip - I’ll check tomorrow
You're right about the ugly designs, John. I just bought a pink and blue elongated 11mm B. The least offensive looking of the bunch I think. lol
You’re a brave man getting the 11 mm Nomex, haha. Please let me know what you think about it - I haven’t hit with it yet.
Did you chat with Proton first before ordering or just ordered?
No, I just ordered. I wanted to order one awhile ago and couldn't, and got very little response to emails. So my early impression was also that they were hard to reach. Still I need to try one. :)
Did you get email confirmation right away after ordering?

Hey John--any thoughts/experience with Honolulu PB paddles? Thanks.
Yes, I’ve been enjoying them. I’m planning a review sometime in February

I’ve heard from them regarding my order. They said they’re awaiting materials. As a consolation for the delay, they offered me a $50 gift card.
Liked. Anyone been able to reach Proton? Called mutlipled times, left voice mail, and emailed. Zip response.
Sponsored by Proton and Six Zero
Just caught that 6.0 shirt John was wearing. 🧐 He is a fan.
A fan, but definitely not sponsored

What if you spanked all your competitors with the blue pink 11?
