    Im in the process of installing some in my 95. It also did not have speakers out of the factory and had the plates like this one. I ran the wire myself over the gauge cluster on the drivers side and fished it through with a straightened clothes hanger with the hook bent in on the passenger side. Im tying the tweeters in with the dash speakers and i have the dash speaker wire tied in with the front left and right door speaker wires.

    Wait, are you wiring the new speakers in parallel with the existing speakers? That drops the impedance to 2 ohms if both sets are 4 ohms.

    So you wired two 4ohm speakers + to + and - to - right? You just dropped the ohms down to 2oms for each side. Hope that head unit can handle that

    It appears you are running the dash speakers on the same front channels in parallel with the door speakers? That would run the channels at 2 ohm each, most after market stereos have a 4 ohm minimum, this will eventually kill or damage the head unit. I would have wire swapped and then by passed the wiring harness making the fronts the dash and the rear the doors.

    • @williameldridge9382
      @williameldridge9382 4 года назад +1

      Except there already is rear speakers, so you'd be bypassing the rear speakers. The smarter move, to get more and better sound would be to put the front speakers and dash speakers in series. This would prevent damage to the head unit and give you an overall increase in sound.

    I did this kind of install on a 1992 Chevy S10 back in 2003. I have had a ground issue every since. Is there a fact that Chevy made a ground system that goes through the speaker system ground? I replaced all 4 with 4 way 4x6, and 4x9's that goes into place of the factory speakers...

    I’ve been watching this video over and over now for a couple months and cannot seem to fit model Pioneer TS-A462F in my 99 s10 pu they are 4x6. They don’t fit with the mount because the panel won’t go back on and without the mount the screws don’t tighten it down all the way either one side is up or I move it trying to put the cover back on. Is there a reason? are they vastly different than each other? Should I send them back and get the model number you list in the description?
    - edit upon looking at both speakers they have the literal same specifications so I don’t understand why they’re not fitting.. ☹️

    Well better think before you do it this way because that is going to throw your ohm load off for the front channel and some radios wont even turn on with the wrong ohm load on a channel if there is a factory amp... which most s10s dont have but still I suggest people do research firs before going willy nilly just trying to be helpful

    One question,I have a 2004 Chevy Blazer and mine had the small tweeter like speaker's in the dash. Both sides had the red,black wiring,all factory. Now is this like anything else. Red positive black ground?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  5 лет назад +1

      Generally yes, but if you are replacing the radio, i suggest then using a 9v battery to the old speaker and pop the speaker to see which way it moves. If it moves out, the + on the battery is touching the + of the speaker, indicating what wire is positive on the harness. if it pops inward, you have it backwards.

    • @williameldridge9382
      @williameldridge9382 4 года назад

      Those tweeters in the dash are hooked up in parallel like the speakers in this video.....with a tweeter it is fine, with 4x6 full-range speakers it is not. You will eventually blow out your head unit by doing that as it drops the resistance to 2ohms and 99% of head units require 4ohms. Hook them up in series instead.

      The late 90's Chevy Blazers come with DRL's (daytime running lights). Every vehicle produced in the U.S. today has them as they are a mandatory safety feature, just like backup cameras are now in the U.S. What you are seeing isn't your headlights on all the time, what you are seeing is your system using your high beam bulbs on low-power mode to provide your vehicle extra visibility to other drivers on the road. The sensor on your speaker grille measures the ambient light from the sun to determine when to turn on your regular low-beams. If you want to see this in action, watch your headlights shortly after you pull into a garage or parking garage, you'll shortly see your regular low-beams kick on.

    • @williameldridge9382

      @@williameldridge9382Daytime running lights are absolutely retarded. If it's such an important safety feature, then why is it so rare to see it on other cars on the road. It's the person behind the wheel that can be responsible. There's no reason to have DRLs in the bright day. I follow all laws about having the headlights on when It's necessary. And they still have the sensor that turns the lights on in the dark when the engine is running to where you can't turn them off.
