People can say what they want but growing up with Zoog Disney, Fox Kids, Nickelodeon, and later Cartoon Network from 1997-2001 was an experience that can't and will never be duplicated. So many legendary shows, and movies going on at the time. Too many to name.

I was the target audience when Zoog Disney started to air. I remember digging it a lot, and asking my aunt if I could use her computer whenever we visited her so I could check out the website (especially So Weird's site) since we didn't have a computer at home. I was really into everything they were doing with it. Then later, in my teens, I distinctly remember thinking, "Hey wait what happened to Zoog Disney?" Their own self-promotion was so relentless that I never even noticed the transition was happening. That always stuck in my mind, how these corporations can just change overnight while still distracting you. Or maybe I was just not that observant a kid, ha!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane with this video!

Yeah, I actually liked both actresses for the main character in "So Weird". Alexz Johnson would go on to be the protagonist on the Teennick show, "Instant Star"..another show that I loved growing up and found as nostalgic...
Man, they don't make good shows like those anymore!

Yep. That damn Hillary Duff and Lizzie McGuire. Great actress, wonderful person, but Disney had their first taste of child pop stardom. That's was the beginning of the end. I was 8 when the zoog ended and remember the transition. Then in 2006 the final nail in the coffin came with the cancellation of Phil of the Future and the premier of Hanna Montana.

By the mid-‘80s, The Disney Channel would be 24 hours a day, all while adding some non-Disney shows to their schedule such as The New Leave It to Beaver and imports like the CBC’s The Raccoons; their nighttime/overnight block, tailored to older audiences, featured classic movies and concert specials.
Oh, and a young Christina Milian was host of Movie Surfers (one of Zoog Disney’s shows).

I’ve only experienced this time slot when I visited the United States with my family. It became an experience to have access to these channels in the beach house. We also had networks that had quite a strong link with the internet at the end of the 90’s and beginning of the 00’s in Canada with Flash Games and interactive pages (Especially Teletoon and VRAK TV. What a time to be alive. This type of entertainment is so specific and we might never be that close to experience it again. Especially since most of these websites aren’t archived and old versions of Flash and Java obsolete. It’s incredibly important to keep on discussing about the sparks that made these times so special. Thanks for the video!

I used to visit Zoog Disney online to play their games. So many competitors.
And long before RUclips. I used to record some of these hit shows (namely So Weird and Jett Jackson) on my VCR. However, it became a gamble trying to record some of the music videos I was looking for that year. Sometimes when the in-betweener segments were going on, I stayed on standby to hit the record button if the video I wanted actually aired.
As for Radio Disney? Loved listening to it. 1998-2004 was how long I tuned in to it in my area, until it disappeared altogether from my city.

6:10 Just to piggyback Disney Channel also had a small revamp around April/May 2000, since most of the 1997 bumpers and logo variations, got replaced by new bumpers and a new 3D logo which were introduced in Late 1999 exclusively for the Zoog Disney & Zoog Weekendz block to then become the channel main branding. This is with the exception of the Vault Disney block that kept the 1997 bumpers and branding up until 2002 when the blocked was axed.

And honestly I grew out if Disney and NICK shortly thereafter (2003 onward, pretty much) so for me, stuff like SUITE LIFE and HANNAH MONTANA starred people my same age (Dylan/Cole and Miley) but I was more into watching MADTV, SNL and Family Guy by that point. I fondly remember early 2000's DISNEY and NICK. They really had identities as stations. Unique entitites. That seems to be missing these days, where everything has become so homogenized and watered-down in pop culture.

Shows like That's So Raven, Cheetah Girls, and Lizzie Maguire was definitely not my thing. I remember a game show at the Zoog Disney time slot. I just found out it was called Mad Libs. The So Weird forum was what got me into online fan forums and message boards with fan theories. I was around Fiona's age and liked having a female protagonist in a live action show marketed towards kids. Although looking back it's pretty dark for a kids show and thats why I loved it. That show is special to me. I really liked Flash Forward with a very young Jewel Staite and Ryan Gosling as a recurring character. I was sad it was only one season. Looking back I feel like Lizzie Maguire got the success they wanted Flash Forward to have. I remember wondering where all the robots and technology stuff went one day. It just seemed to have changed overnight.

I did not like this particular era of Disney Channel. The shows, and the overall tone felt so far removed from what I normally expect from Disney. I blame 'Lizzie McGuire' for encouraging Disney to keep milking it's formula at the expense of Walt Disney's legacy. As if Disney Channel had abandoned it's core audience while chasing after a nonexistent audience. (cough*star*wars*cough*comic*books*cough) The idea of using the internet with television may have been innovative, but I think it could've been executed better in my opinion.

Hey hunnies! 1991 baby here and Disney Channel from '97-'04 was life!! I'm in the process of creating a Facebook fan group all about old DC and our wonderful memories. I hope I can get members to join. If I get enough likes and replies, I'll get the link on here.
