I agree with the 'kink' when storing on a winder ,so I always tie a very small loop ( using the preston 4 way loop. ). As im only a pleasure angler i simply cut the loop off and tie a larger loop. I've never been able to use that loop tyer and believe me ive tried. Great video as ever ,always learn from both of you.
On the note of shortening the main line loop tag end to stop it catching the hook line. I use the dropper weight to hide the tag end. Instead of attaching the dropper on to the main line loop, put the tag end in to the weight first followed by the main line, then close the weight. This will stop the hook length catching the tag on the way down.
I have always struggled with the hook tyer. Not anymore. Good tip adding the bottom dropper to the mainline loop below the knot. I also fell about laughing when Andy found out what the little hook on the winder is for. Great tips lads. Small but oh so important. Keep them coming.
Watching how Jamie holds the line when using the loop tier has solved all my problems! I can actually tie three inch hook lengths at last, even with my useless eyesight.
Top stuff lads would like to say when you've had a few big wobbly carp I have and seen other people struggle to get the hook length of the main line open the loop up on the mainline pull apart and the hook length can be pushed apart no need to spoil that beautifully tied rig Jamie you're a picture of concentration Andrew top student. Spring's on the way lads this weekend in East Lincolnshire gonna be up to 17 degrees bag up time. Keep the video's coming top info and entertainment. (Chloe's Dad) 👍
Nice one. Have been doing it wrong for years now. lol. Regarding length of tags, how long do you leave it on the actual hook. Do you think fish can feel it ?
Andy your not the only one that can't use a loop there I've watched several uploads and still get it wrong 😂😂😂 the winning ways is awesome tho ! tgc Gazza
every time i use my hooklengh box to measure my 3 inch hooklengh ...wheni finish it with loop tyer it cime on 1/4 inch to long ...any tips Andy / Jamie please ?

My question is what do you do with all the rigs you've tied when you can't go fishing and never really needed to do? I found some of my old wire bristle floats and tied them up last lockdown. If anyone needs some wire bristled rigs drop me a message - i've got more than I will ever use! [for the youngsters, we used to use wire bristles for fishing joker on canals in winter]
I connect my hook lengths correctly, however, when I have to replace the hook lengths I struggle removing the hook lengths knot from the main line loop. Any advive?
I cut the loop that’s on the hook length and pull the tag end off them and then put new one on However Ive had to get a baiting needle to help get new hook length on as the loop closes Hope this helps
The little things that make these lads so so good at what they do 👍🏼
The realisation on Andy’s face when he realises what the little hook is for on the winder is priceless!
I was just about to put that . Looks like Christmas came early for Andy 🤣

Majig Jamie, the forecast for tomorrow is for snow, looks like 8 hours of retying my rigs properly 😕 thanx

Can’t believe I’ve been putting my hook lengths on the wrong way!
Great video as usual lads and a couple of good tips for any one getting into fishing

What shots do you use? I've tried a couple of makes and find they dont split 50/50 and find them hard to pinch on the line.
Jamie uses Ballabini and Andy prefers ZLT
@@WinningWays thanks for the quick response, gonna give one of them a try.
Glad to see a video:)
First class video stay safe and well
You are not alone Andy I cant use this either
So how would you do it with the map winders as there is no hook on the winder
Just use a staple through the loop to hook it into the hole :)
Or don’t buy MAP winders!!!!!
When using the loop tyer why twist it twice? It ties a figure of eight knot and if you tied one by hand you’d only twist it once.
where are the floats from
well done
Hopeful I can catch more fishies now😂
how important is shotting patterns
Mega important, we've done loads of videos covering which are best for certain situations if you scroll back.
The world would be a miserable place without you two clowns 😂👍
SHOTTING CHARTS FOR POLERIGS ? STRUNG OUT DIVEREND FROM BULK AND DROPPERS?
Oh my brain is blown...🤯 I’ve been putting my hooklengths on wrong forever...!!!
NEVER put the hook through its OWN loop...just remember that way. 👍
I don't shot my pre-made rigs either.
Why twist twice? It only gives a larger knot...only one twist is necessary for a figure of 8 knot
I'm as baffled as Andy looks! 🙃
Who know most jamie or Andy 😉
Never put the hook through its own loop... Then you will do it right everytime .

Must admit, I have these two tyers, but hardly used them...too finicky, but Jamie's way is a piece of p**s...thanks pal!!
Mainline is the male going into the hook length female.
u two. :)))))
I only put my hooklength on the wrong way for about 30 years, which meant I changed about three years ago! Cretin.
To much talking for this video to be honest 🤦🏻♂️
