Jamie is the absolute Don when it comes to rigs. Again, massively informative and lessons to be learned. As my kids teacher say's "If you listen you will learn"
That was a great discussion. It encourages the rest of us to really think in detail about what we are trying to achieve, catch on the bottom or a slow fall. Love the slap at the end.
i guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know a trick to log back into an instagram account..? I was dumb forgot my password. I would love any tips you can give me!
@Chance Kellen I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
We all enjoy seeing variations and differences between the styles of 2 very successful anglers, and seeing also that it all gets the job done. Thanks for giving us endless hints and tips. Some are ball achingly obvious, but still overlooked/
Great video guy's lots of useful information as always the only problem i have now is that all 3 trays of my rigs ive come to realise are rubbish 🗑 👍🏼🎣
Great video as usual. Is it possible to do a video with the different shotting patterns in a large tank or underwater video to show how the different rigs fall and present in the water.
thanks again, always wondered why you guys use no.10s as opposed to no.8s when shotting floats. especially when using a bulk. Is it for balanced tackle or just a preference?
A 4x12 float is only 0.2g capacity. Generally, a No8 weighs around 0.06g, therefore 3 No8s plus 1 No12 wouldn't make the rig as versatile because it has fewer shot. using 4 No10s and 2 No12s is a better scenario. Try to keep the shot as close together in size as possible on rigs you make yourself.
I've watched this several times and I'm with Andy, but yeah, Jamie makes alot of sense when he says " you need two rigs" each will work for some time then you might need to change to the other rig.
I feel as though this is a dumb question but is most of the content based around match fishing? And also would these shitting patterns work for course float fishing?
We look at things from a match perspective. But that’s all about catching fish as effectively as possible so it all is transferable. The fish don’t know if you’re in a match or pleasure fishing 👍🏻
@@WinningWays The boggas always seem to know when a load of keep nets have been chucked in..... I have never bagged up on a match like i did the day before on a pleasure session. Clever little things them fishys!!!!!!
@@jaywhy71 Have you tried placing your nets in the water and then stretching them out, as opossed to throwing them in? Jamie and Andy both mentioned that noise was a big factor in Autumn, which could have an adverse effect on the fishing. I've witnessed anglers actually pulling their nets back under the platform on some venues to reduce net movement / disturbance during a match, especially when fishing close (topkit or topkit + one).
Olivette of 0.5g less than float capacity (generally a float of up to 2g in good conditions), with 10No9s making up the float capacity. Leave some under the olivette (say 5No9s), have one above the olivette to lock it in place, and have the other 4 as droppers.
I think they were saying maggots fall through the water slowly so there are two methods of shotting to counter this. 1) Control the fall slowly and evenly with spreading your shot which allows your float to register bites as your bait falls to the bottom. (For fish not feeding on the bottom.) 2) For fish feeding on the bottom. Bulk shot around 10-12 inches from your hook. Use 4in hook length instead of 6 and use 1 - 2 droppers. The last dropper needs to be around 4-5 inches from your hook to make bites register on your float more because the line will be straighter due to the bulk shot and fishing at depth.

Hughes and May. The Blackadder and Baldrick of fishing!
Really useful to watch these again. Especially when we're going into summer. Great conversation guys.

@Chance Kellen It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much you really help me out!
@Dwayne Mateo glad I could help =)
I love the way you interact and have different ideas. It gives me loads of ideas how to improve my time on the banks
That silver car has been there for ages!
You’re right
I just watched the video today and it’s still there!!!

Great bit of info, great timing as in the middle of remaking rigs for the winter
Another great video, perfect timing as will be tying maggots rigs this week

Find us a big tank and we’re on it. Don’t think sea world would let us use there’s 😢
@@WinningWays Why not ask that other Hughes bloke (the one with the neoprene fetish) to do an underwater video?
You can see a couple of rigs underwater in this "Matrix Submerged" video - ruclips.net/video/XsUwyo3Hokc/видео.html

Big tank test swimming pool at Jamie’s mansion 😂
Jamie, what sort of delicate maggot rig would you fish if it was windy??
Very good, informative as always!

Click on the 3 dots at the end of the comments in question and report them for the reason you think they're unsuitable.
