From a practical stand point you shouldn’t buy a brand new car though lol.
In the past two years, the only relatively 'new' cars on sale I would say that offer a synergy of RWD, gratifying to shift manual transmission mated to a reliable naturally aspirated high revving engine, and with an appealing interior (for their respected price points), are pretty much this 991.2 GT3 manual, 718 Cayman GT4 and the 2020 Mazda MX-5 (Club package you drove recently) . You can take them to trackday events without doing modifications that void the warranty, yet you can also have great fun on public roads without having to break the law doing so. Porsche and Mazda are the brands that really do listen to enthusiasts because they do want to keep the manuals alive, so long as there's obvious demand for them - we should be thankful for that.
I agree, those cars use analogue principles with the driving experience they give, without feeling primitive. Its the sweetspot.

@@Schmago The voodoo engine isn't particularly reliable. Its well documented on the internet. They do sound great though.
@@smilepermile888 From what I've seen, it's still a relatively small percentage of the engines and it's primarily the 2016-2017 cars that suffer. Wouldn't put me off of on, but I can see where it might do so for others. If you know what you might be getting into, the GT350 otherwise belongs in that list.

Damn I was obsessed with that car when it was on AutoTrader and now I found it here by accident. This is most perfect spec ever because not only it is manual, has the bucket houndstooth seats, and that stunning oak green, but also the leather steering wheel!! They're usually in Alcantara and although I love Alcantara everyone that has it says how they get kind of disgusting with time. Whoever specced this knew exactly what they were doing.

We got a 2018 GT3 on trade in and the customer averaged 22mpg. Such an amazing car and very underrated. Makes sense why there is a waiting list on the new GT3's.
Not my color I would pick, but ever since I was in school, I have permanently kept a poster of a 911 GT3 on my wall. This is the reminder of what I work my backside off for...one day.

Another awesome review. You definitely get cars and do a great job of communicating your knowledge and enthusiasm. So question for you: I have a 2022 Cayman GTS 4.0, which I have gotten somewhat used to, and of course the mind goes to GT3. watched your GTS 4.0 review and this one back to back. The thought that came to me was really the GT3 offers that race car 8000 to 9000 rpm experience that you don't get in the GTS. But is the larger size, rougher ride, worse visibility, more attention really worth it for just that? I don't track my cars so purely a road car use question.

To be honest, I’m not exactly sure why this is, but high dollar sports cars and supercars have excited me less and less as I’ve grown up. The GT3 still intrigues me, though. It’s not just that it’s fast or even that it revs out of this world. It’s that it’s fun. It’s tactile. It’s involving. The driving experience is multi-dimensional, even in everyday situations on public roads. And that’s what it takes to capture my fascination. This is definitely very high on my dream garage list.

Omg that color and a manual gear box is just heaven. I don’t understand why people would choose automatic unless they want faster shifts or they simply don’t drive a manual.

Just listened to this with the spatialise audio setting turned on (on iPad) and holy shit that first pull hit hard.
It's great. Subdued and drives like a regular car. And then with your right foot, you can turn it into a banshee!
Oak Green PTS. Definitely one of the best colors imo.
The supsension remebers me on my KW Clubsport 2way, but I have only a Cupra. ☺️

Yup, the 991 GT3's are luxury car comfortable compared to the 997 era GT3's. I prefer the raw feel of the 997 but you can't deny the advancement in handling and comfort capabilities of the 991.
what do you prefer 991.2 gt3 w/manual or shelby gt350 ?

when it comes to manual transmissions that you've driven, im curious gt350 vs type R, vs GT3 vs mazda mx5 manual trans? which is the best and or the one you like the most in order? i like all the cars mentioned and the only one i cant afford right now is the GT3. i have a type R and thinking of trading it for a GT350. been wanting a miata for a long time but i co-daily my type R and needed the hatchback space at the time.
Any Miata will have one of the sweetest manuals you can buy but this GT3 is just about driving perfection. My order would be GT3, Miata, Type R, BRZ, Challenger SRT, GT350, Veloster N, GTI
