Years ago an agnostic and I were discussing if Ha Shem exists while sitting under the night sky in Eilat, Israel. I said that I was not capable of saying anything that could prove to him if Ha Shem exists or not. Then I said if you want to experience His spirit then spend a week in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and North Carolina. If you want to experience His majesty, then all you have to do is gaze up to the night sky. Ha Shem exists on many planes, not just those of human logic.
G-d exists. No proof required. If someone doesn't accept that fact, they're in denial of reality. By discussing it they're acknowledging G-d is. I don't discuss nonsense, do you?
It does seem like people who want so badly to be seen are simply distracting from their lack, so they don't have to put in the effort to improve themselves.
We all have ways to escape improving. Some may be more noticeable than others. The rabbi was also talking about not judging others wasn't he? We don't know who others are deep down inside, appearances to the contrary. Not our business anyway.
@@Y1836Y Not judging. Just observing. It may seem that way but I could be wrong. I just think everything Rabbi Friedman is saying here lines up with my experience. Rabbi Friedman has always had a way of both introducing wisdom that I'd never thought of and putting things I have thought of into words I could never find.
Yuck. Word salad. Get beyond the rhetoric you've been taught and think. Is the object of us being here to increase faith which is accepting that which we can't explain? Pointless. Boring. We're here to do. We could adore G-d closer in heaven. Right? So why be here?
I love that HaShem hides from us. It's like a continuous treasure hunt. He hides so that we continuously seek Him. We get little clues everywhere if we pay attention.
Only if God allows, you can see Him. Moses was also excluded from being allowed to see His face. God doesnt judge us by how we look physically. He looks at the heart. We should also look at the heart when we consider God.
Rabbi, I sleep with my beard under the blanket, I don't want to have a Cold Beard! I'll turn my air conditioning unit on when it's 110°F. inside My Home!" I hope that helps you get some sleep, Rav! Cold Beards are very uncomfortable! I'm a Widower & I don't really know how to sew, so I have a question for you, "These days My Pants are usually about 4 Inches Below MY ANKLES,,,do I get extra points for that? 😆 Just Kidding! we have two eyes so they can keep an eye on each other. two hands so the other can stop the other stealing, and two legs to stop us walking around in circles.
I heard two eyes, one to see outside of ourselves, the other for introspection..a hard look for the one on ourseves and a softer look, outside of ourselves.
Regarding the dress code you guys have the same exact fashion sense as the Amish. If both groups were in the same room I don't think I would be able to tell who's who. lol

I want to know how much I worth so I can know more things that I can be grateful of .. but it has to start with knowing where I stand before him or where to start.. his righteousness and what is my repentance.. sometimes it sounds like a pride that you need god to break you up so you can actually live , you can live so much in yourself that eventually you will need him..
Sounds like you're going in circles unnecessarily. If you want to know G-d, start talking to Him, nothing formal, just talking, out loud, to yourself ir in writing. Whichever feels best for you. You'll feel closer already. If you want to feel even closer, start reading the Torah, G-ds love letter to us, which tells us all about Him and what He needs from us. To get still closer, find someone to learn with. Meanwhile, be kind to people. Someone needs your assistance, so help them. Not only money. Time, and an interest in them, is even more valuable.

Not wear the other gender's clothes. If a woman wears women pants they're not men's. Men wear shorts and women wear shirts. Saying neither can wear a shirt? Women can only wear a dress, no skirts and shirts? You're trying to push an issue to a place it doesn't need to go. Modesty and how a person dresses are more complicated than the simple line in the Torah. It's not to be used as a weapon of control.
