This massive lift affords your truck the ability to run up to an impressive 35" tire on factory wheels with our unmatched front and rear high-clearance crossmembers featuring the "RCX" logo. Heavy duty upper strut spacers, a beefy lower skid plate, and a set of differential and sway-bar drop brackets are also included; designed by our in-house Research and Development team with 100% laser-cut materials for the best possible fit on your vehicle. This whopping 7" Lift also comes with a set of rear 6" fabricated anti-wrap lift blocks that offer a huge boost while helping combat dreaded axle wrap issues on inferior big lifts.
    Also included are a set of our Nitrogen charged N2 Shocks! Offering the best in balanced performance for on and off-road use, these shocks feature a 10-stage velocity sensitive valving custom tuned for this specific application. That means these shocks are specifically valved for use with this vehicle and lift combo, giving you unparalleled performance for any driving situation.

    Just want to say that i just did this lift on my buddies truck. Good luck getting the knuckle and top control arm to connect. I was 2 inches away and thought they sent the wrong struts. We used the 7.5 lift struts instead of spacers. I called rough country and ran all part numbers. I finally got it but had to use strut compressors. Pretty sure i almost met god, but i did get it.

    8-10 hours the direction say...2.5 days in the average joe garage, even with a sufficiently full set of tools and that's assuming you don't sleep the first night. If you want to get this done in 8-10 hours, they should ship that second dude to you in the box so he can hold everything while you unbolt it. The main dude in the video barely has grease on his hands. By the end of of day one, the bums outside of the auto parts store didn't want to get near me because I looked too dirty.

    I had a miserable time getting the upper control arm into the knuckle after the lower ball joint was installed. I had to use ratchet straps to pull the control arms towards each other just to get enough thread on the upper ball joint to grab it and suck it into the knuckle. I didn’t loosen the upper control arm during install, it would have most likely been easier that way, but there was barely any compression in the strut/spring assy to allow for installation

    I have a 2008 Silverado 1500 that I bought that came with a 4 inch suspension lift and I added a strut spacer so basically a leveling kit to make it a 6 inch lift now my CV angles are at an angle and was told I need to drop the front diff down more but called rough country and the front diff block spacers are the same for a 4 inch lift and the 6 inch lift? A suspension shop told me I had to just take the lift off because there was nothing I could do. I just didn’t get how a 4 inch lift and a 6 inch lift use the same size of front diff drop bracket and how the CV angles wouldn’t be different then with the larger lift ?

    • @RoughCountryTV
      @RoughCountryTV  5 лет назад

      You have created the CV axle issue by adding the level kit to the 4" kit. Your best bet is to replace the 4" strut spacers with the 6" strut spacer to correct the geometry and removing the level spacer.

  • @Iflagum
    @Iflagum 3 года назад +9

    If your going to cut the outer tie rods why not replace them with something you can grease. As this stuff gets older I see that as a problem. I would have included new inner and outer ends in the kit. Pretty cool otherwise. Sounds like it would fit a Tahoe as well?

    Had this lift installed on my 08 1500 vortex Max. Pushed the breaks real hard to keep from hitting a girl running across the road. Driveshaft ended up popping out too much and when I stopped putting so much force on the break the driveshaft tried going back in but ended up destroying the slip yoke and tranny had to be replaced/rebuilt. The tranny shop said I needed a 2 inch spacer but another truck/lift shop said there’s no need for a spacer, maybe the shop that installed the lift put the blocks on backwards? SO I wanted to know if I need a spacer or a word with the guys who lifted my truck....

    • @RoughCountryTV

      That would be hard to do since we have to drop the diff so much to and have to trim for proper clearance.

    • @rcairforceone
      @rcairforceone 6 лет назад +1

      It's basic physics really... 2 things cannot both occupy the same space at once. If you think this is bad, find some old 4x4 magazines and look at what it took to install early IFS suspension lifts. None of the cutting in this kit compromises strength of the chassis. The one single change I'd like to see would be a single piece crossmember. As far as I know there's only one company doing that, and their kit costs twice what this one does. This will be the kit I install on my truck when the time comes.

    • @1badk20
      @1badk20 6 лет назад +1

      trunkbangking......You still have to cut the crossmember like every other kit. There is no way around not cutting it, the diff will hit no matter what. You would have to drop the diff almost 15 inches to clear the crossmember bracket.
      You obviously do not own the kit, so how about doing research before you comment.
      Step 11 in the McGaughys SS 7-9" Lift
      11. On the PASSENGER side lower a-arm frame mount you
      will need to cut off 3 1/2”. Using a marker and a straight
      edge, measure and mark 3 1/2” from the edge of the frame
      mount inward and then cut with a sawzall.
