Did this on a 07 Yukon denali a few years back. The front was a total pain! Got the 3.5" leveling so a spacer above and below. Installing the 2 lower bolts got me creating new 4 letter words for the time it took to get them in. Definitely needed and alignment afterwards too, but also get a correct angle upper control arm for anything over 2 inches.
The ride is a bit more stiff, but works great for me because it reduces roll on turns. Rockin 35s MTs under my Yukon Denali and been loving it for a few years now.

You absolutely do not have to take the upper control arm out of the spindle to take the strut out all you need to do is remove the sway bar link unbolt it from the lower control arm Loosen Three Top bolts and a push it towards the front diff and it pops right out

Excellent how to. Everyone removes just about everything to get these in and you don’t need to at all. I finished my 3.5 (3.5 inch lifted struts from rough country) in the front relatively easy. Thank you!
I didn’t remove the tie rod nuts because they were spinning. Decided to move forward and was able to get the new struts in no problem with a little elbow grease. Anyone doing this, I would definitely recommend new upper control arms. It makes a huge difference in the travel for that knuckle and ride comfort.

Not to say anybodys wrong but ive done 3" level kits like this on three trucks about to do it to my new 2016 chevy and most those trucks i put over 100k no ball joint issues no axle angle issues if your going with a 2.5" it's absolutely no diff .5" isnt gonning to make or break you. If you want a 3" lift and clear larger tires do it you wont regret it if your just looking to level the truck use a 2" kit and have piece of mind. The motofab i bought was on amazon 124.99$ free shipping easy install as you watched. Besides if the ball joints did go out big deal replace the upper arm and joint at that point thats my plan on this new chevy and if the angke is bad enough theres a easy install for a front diff drop to help if needed really cheap as well. Good luck! Enjoy

I bought 3" front and 2" rear lift kit from Ebay for $87. My 2" rear lift is different than yours, it's a full aluminium billet (CNC machined). I'm done with rear easy peasy but struggling with front. Realizing that you removed upper arm. No wonder why I couldn't get bottom of shock bracket to hang on top of lower strut. Instruction don't tell me at all. Glad that I checked your video. Hey! Did you forget to bolt in 3" billet to top shock before you insert under truck shock support?? I saw you drop in 3" billet then install under strut support body. Or you already did bolted in billet to shock "video offline"?? Wonder..

yes, and my ball joint kept spinning..so i was looking like a money fornicating a football not jut trying to push the uca back into knuckle, but then trying to vice grip the ball joint to get the nut started. driver side this happened, doing one side at a time with the tie rod end connected while doing this. the passenger side went super smooth because it was level across the front and also i left the tie rod end out while connecting the uca. also had spinning issue but once i got enough clerence to grb the bottom of ball joint w/ vice grips it was smooth. had to go back to driver side and what worked after trying several things like driving around driveway articulating one wheel hoping to piinch ball joint- i used a 3" c clamp back on level ground and got er done. truck drives somehow wayyy better however it needs an alignment 100% as it changed geometry. The rear shocks really should be replaced no doubt so thats today..very concerned about uca ball joint angle so its without question rucking fetarded to think its safe to use stock uca. would you put your boner under a railing then lean up and outward and anticipate it to feel good? no way. youve put ypur uca's ball joint in a weird sex position that will snap your dick off instlling the kit with fsctory uca so where you cut costs initially- theyre on the back end and no one wants to pay for 2-3 alignments, collateral damge parts replacement plus the uca upgrades you will need and the time to do the above. i recommend this procedure however do the control arms n schedule alignment when you start it, may be easier to do rears last i did them first and feel its better practice to do them lst after my trial and errors personally

Read reviews and forums to find out what has worked and hasn't on other peoples trucks. From what I have read a 2.5 is the highest you should go before having to replace upper control arms due to ball joint issues. Hope this helps man. There are many companies out there for simple leveling kits like Rough Country and Moto Fab.

    I have a 2011 Silverado LS 2WD would a 3in lift kit be a good idea

Ali Khandurrani - you mite still have some upper control arm issues with ball joint angles but you wouldn't have to worry about cv angles since its just 2wd

I just got a 3"to1 level kit and the 2 spacers are 2"equal is that normal or they send me the wrong part get back to me when you can

martin hernandez the instructions say it is not a 1 to 1 ratio. The 2" blocks will give you 3" of lift in the front. I have the same kit.
