It's a masterpiece.
I've never seen someone react to this Sleep Token song, in particular, let alone for a FIRST reaction... I wonder why you chose this one, out of all of them? Thankfully ST only drops bangers lol. I would highly recommend Take Me Back to Eden, Ascensionism, Euclid, Apparition, The Summoning, Atlantic, and/or Rain. However, every song is incredible. I haven't heard a single ST song that I haven't enjoyed in some way. Their variance is incredible.

I love Atlantic so much. Probably one of the more vocal-heavy tracks.
His British accent shows through a ton, which is why I think you got the "cursive" singing vibe.

When I found this band, I binged all three of their albums immediately and continued to listen to them nonstop for months. All their music is epic storytelling with tortured emotions and mad science experimentation with music genres.

Vessel's voice is very deep, you can feel the emotion in his voice, and that's one of the reasons why I really like his vocals. He has a very big range. He can hit the highest notes and go down to guttural screams (in just one song lol)
I'm looking forward to “Take me back to Eden”, it's not just a song, it's a masterpiece. Also, I recommend listening to “Blood Sport (from the room below)”, it's a very beautiful emotional song

Bloodsport is simple, emotional and raw.
Saw them in London last year when he was going so hard he had to skip singing the majority of a couple songs. When he cried into the mic towards the end of the set we all felt it

vessel does the delayed consonants a lot, it's one of the more distinctive features of his voice. high water (the song after this on the second album) is also very pretty, one of their best songs

Great choice! Telomeres is an awesome song! I highly recommend Atlantic next, you can clearly hear Vessel's voice, and the soft but powerful piano on that track... chef's kiss! Hope to see more Sleep Token!!
@thevocalyst - These sleep token albums are a whole journey. The closing song to the trilogy of albums, EUCLID, is extraordinary song writing perfection. The closure and healing all Sleep Token fans needed. It’s the realisation it’s all over. It’s okay to look back at the good times. But ultimately it’s okay to move on. It’s time to be somebody new. It’s so fucking beautiful. Loaded with callbacks from songs and moments, notably tied directly to the open song on the first album ‘the night does not belong to God’.
One worth checking out for you particularly would be the live version of ‘Bloodsport’ from the room below.

Take Me Back to Eden is not "a lot to take in" in the sense that it is overwhelming or anything. Its just simply a beautiful song that is constructed in such a magical way that it is truly an unforgettable experience to listen to for the first time. I hope that you will react to it sooner than later. I've seen so many reactors say they will definitely listen to more or excited to hear more and then they don't release another ST reaction for months. I get that there are a ton of requests and songs out there to listen to, but I just can't understand how some people can hear ST and not want to immediately dive deep into the rabbit hole. ST reactions do numbers too. Worship.
Take me back to eden would be infinitely better without the last 30 seconds or so of screamo bs. It ruins the song imo.

I recommend Bloodsport. From the room below version to get a good grasp of how great a vocalist Vessel is as its just him and a piano. Beautiful song.
Interesting stuff! Described on Google; A anonymous, masked collective, the front man with the moniker Vessel! There's so many details into their songs, for example: When you listen to Vore (one of their heaviest songs yet, or the heaviest) you can hear at the very beginning a swallow sound, which makes sense for the song. Here, that "crackling" noise is present in the "back" almost the entire song, those are thin layers that adds so much to each song.
I loved this reaction/analysis. I always enjoy reactors that are able to give additional information wither about vocals or an instrument or production.
I also loved the choice of your first Sleep Token reaction. Perfect song and I'd love to see more reactions. ❤
Btw Vessel, the singer, also recordered all the other instruments except drums(that did the drummer named II).III (bassist) and IV(guitarist) are so far just part pf the touring. So Vessel is so freaking talented to sing, write, compose the songs and play all those instruments 🔥

I actually get excited when people that really “get” music discover sleep token. It’s one heck of a journey full of discovery, emotion, and reflection. I do recommend starting on their first album through the third chronologically for reasons.
Telomeres is a deeper cut but stunningly beautiful, great choice for a video

Sleep Token is such a versatile band and I adore them! With a wide array of different type of songs, some being soft and vunerable, some being high energy and really ´in your face´ and everything in between. A true musical journey if you ask me. My personal favorite is Blood sport (From the room below).

Great reaction! Before Take Me Back To Eden, I would suggest Atlantic, The Offering, or Higher. But they're all great. You can't really go wrong.
Never heard of them before but I'm impressed I like their style love their sound, will search out more of them 👍. Surprised I haven't seen anything by Evanescence, she reminds me of this kinda not that they sound a lot alike more like they both kinda have the same mesmerizing effect on me so to say. There's just something amazing about each of their sounds I don't know what it is, great song will definitely be hearing more from them, thanks whoever suggested it, good call.
This is one of my top three. High water is another. The last slot is either .. euclid (solely because of having experienced their discography in order) or almost ANY song from their first two ep's

Peter Steele of Type O Negative had a very good vocal range, Blood and Fire, Love you to Death, September Sun, Nettie etc. They was called the Drab 4, a different type of rock/metal but very good and underrated. RIP Peter Steele 🙏 🤘

I'd be curious to hear you do "Unintended" by Muse, because I think the song is hauntingly beautiful but a vocal performance major I roomed with in college said the singer's technique is terrible. I still think about that every time I hear the song! 😆🥂🎉

It may be a little out of the wheelhouse - but WHIPPED CREAM, Jasiah & Crimson Child - The Dark has some awesome vocals I would love to hear your opinion on. Almost goes into an Opera at one point. Absolutely an amazing display of male vocals.

Amazing! My favorite track is Atlantic, but feel free to check out songs like "Vore" or .. well any other in live vers. He is a very versatile vocalist and I'd love to hear what you think about it, both studio and live - He doesn't dissapoint imo
(edit) pretty sure the effect is just a heavy reverb, he often goes into that more open sound, sounds pretty identical live I feel is why I'm pointing it out :)

I have to hit you with two band recommendations. In This Moment, specifically Burn, Big Bad Wolf, Blood Legion, and Twins Of Flame. Then Killswitch Engage has to be something you check out during the Howard Jones era, go for My Curse, The Arms Of Sorrow, Rose Of Sharyn, any of those 3 should be a good look at his voice. Howard's cover of Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd is so good too

Bloodsport (From the Room Below), Jaws, Aqua Regia. These are some of my favorites. It's difficult to go wrong with this band. Vassel's voice has an almost metallic sound to me, Vassel II on drums is an absolute machine. Both of these are reinforced by Vassel III and IV on guitar and bass to round out this powerhouse of a band.

Early stuff. Definitely a bit more indy than their new, heavier stuff, just warning you. 😊 But they still keep it diverse and the Vessel goodness never fades. One of their only songs with a guitar solo too! Hope you check more Im sure you will!
My friend introduced me to Sleep Token last year with a song called The Summoning because it's basically ADHD for metal heads. I like their stuff. Unfortunately metal just isn't where my heart is these days so I haven't delved their back catalogue. This is also my first time for this song and I bloody like it! With that being said, these days my heart sits with American country music, so could you maybe react to something by Tyler Childers, maybe?
Dive in man. The Summoning is more of an outlier and not what the vast majority of Sleep Token songs sound like. Especially their older stuff. They are mostly very melodic and the lyrics will actually blow you away if you pay attention. Do yourself a favor and check out Take Me Back to Eden, or if you want some older stuff, Atlantic is a great song to start out with. Its the first song on their second album entitled "This Place Will Become Your Tomb". It sounds dark and heavy, but I assure you its not. The lyrics cover a wide variety of topics, some dark but the music on that album definitely leans more towards the side of ambient/melodic.
The best way to listen to this song is with headphones on laying down in a dark room, just let the atmosphere of it wash over you. Always makes me emotional.
