As someone who can’t afford to travel the world it is cool to see from someone so versed in wine that you can experience a great bottle without having to spend a lot of money
Matthew, this was a great video. $7 - $15 Kirkland/Costco wines are right in my wheelhouse. Is there any chance you could do an updated version of this video. I hope so, thanks. Cheers.
Ghost passing at the back of the video at 6:12. Than dejavu ghost at 7:58. Jokes aside, from you, i like this video better than most blind tastings you do. You rush and confuse me with your blind tastings since you do rush and usually tastes 2 wines at the time. This one i can follow and kind of enjoy each wine with you as you are tasting it and describing it. Anyway, overall im happy with your channel and i hope you keep growing it. I like the fact that you post on mondays, thats very nice, it gives me some entertainment on a day usually no youtuber posts it.
I'm from China, like your video very much, please keep doing good videos even if you don't have supper amount of subscribers, you gonna be a BIG youtuber.
Matt -- now you are speaking my language! I look forward to trying the Huntington Pinot and the Delas when I am back in the US. I've forwarded your recommendations to all of my family! In the meantime, challenge accepted - have to see if I can find the Lua Cheia at the Pingo Doce here in Lisbon!
I have gone thru 4-6 cases of Huntington over the last couple of years. In Scottsdale, it is $14-16 and seems to be always available. It is a great buy IMHO. The other one is Martin Ray Sonoma Pinot. Kirkland Prosecco…..at $8, how can you go wrong? It is perfect for spritzers!
I bet you tasted incredible and the best wines in Portugal when you went to visit the country. Unfortunately you do not have access to them over there and can only review "medium" quality wines
I always love going to Portugal and yes, have tasted some of the best the country has to offer. The selection is good in the USA but it’s scattered and you really have to hunt.

Wow thank you so much. That’s exactly what I was trying to convey here
I usually use Costco to buy premier wines too.. Dominus, chateau Palmer and some wines I buy to serve few people
They do have a surprisingly good selection of top flight stuff
Yes sir. I am going to look for what you have recommended also.
After my son graduates and goes to college then I own my wife and we can do exactly what you do is travel and explore wines!
Been loving the content recently! Keep up the good work Mathew!
Thank you for stopping by and watching as always
I've also been buying marques de caceres rioja riserva 2016 for $13.99 which is an excellent priced point for a very good rioja
niceeee
Always been a fan of Badenhorst Secateurs, this is his entry level... but he makes some of the best wines in South Africa
I’m interested to taste the higher quality stuff

I'm an importer of Delas and i can say that The Saint Esprit is the best selling Cote du rhone in Thailand
Ohhhh really? Good choice by you btw
Congrats on your successful wine education ventures!
Hey hey long time since Bali

Ahhh 🙏🙏🙏🙏 for this comment!
Costco definitely has some good value wines, just have to keep an eye out. Some of the Krikland labels are pretty good too.
Agreed
@@drmatthewhorkey My go to everyday 'table wine' is the Kirkland Cab Sauv (1.5L) for $7.95 / bottle:)

Nice and thanks. You’ll have NO problems getting great wine on the cheap over their in Lisboa. See you soon
I buy Tignanello which they get once a year and higher end cabs like Groth. Wish they had more Bordeaux blends. Thanks for all the great content!
Thank you! I have A LOT of good stuff coming up
Who's that walking by at 7:58 ? 😄
Hahahhaha good eye, my mother

Agreed on spritzers!
just want to let you know I have had Juan Gil 2018 blue label wine 60% Monasterell, 30% cabernet Sauvignon and 10% syrah
Did u like it?
9:58 wait.....what?
That’s right!! Hahaha it comes from a certain bacteria. You won’t see that in New Zealand wines hahaha 😁
I wish we had Costco in Denmark. Cheers🥂
Is Aldi up that way?
@@drmatthewhorkey yes we have them.
Just bought a Kirkland 2017 brunello for $19.99
🍷😮
I believe the Cotes du Rhone is from the southern Rhone, not the northern Rhone.
Do you mean this one from Delas or Côtes du Rhône in general?
Didn't they have that Pewsey Vale Eden Valley Riesling for under 15? Maybe it was 16. Anyway, good stuff and you can find it everywhere.
I didn’t see kr. I like Eden Vallen Riesling. Costco’s strategy is the fact that different stores carry different wines
Very good
🙏
I always buy the Kirkland rioja riserva. The 2017 is the current release and at $8.99 a STEAL!!
WOWWzzzasss that is a steal
Their 2018 chianti classico riserva also at $8.99 is pretty decent
COSTCO dept. in Tuscany please? 😀
Hahahahahah, you have those nice inexpensive Sangios though.

Mmm, Chenin Blanc. Tastier than Sauvignon Blanc.
Such a good grape
Manure? I’ll skip that one
Hahahahha
In the world!
In the world???
