    Your video reminded me of when I helped a guy off the railroad tracks many years ago. He had gotten his pickup stuck crossways on the tracks that he was trying to cross. Saw him from the road and went to help. He was so stuck, that I didn't think I would ever get him free. It's amazing what you can do when you see a freight train barreling down on you and hear that horn honking. After a lot of frantic tugging and pushing we popped him off in the nick of time.

    • @chb2551
      @chb2551 Год назад +1

      It's funny how many people get bothered by how every movie has things happen in-the-nick-of-time (me included). Such as when someone is saved from a horrible end just-in-the-nick-of-time, rather than way before the end was to happen. Yet, it's surprising how many times IRL nick-of-time events really do happen. This is just 1 of many recorded. I don't think there's a person alive who hasn't had at least 1 event happen like that.

    I have really gotten into the offroad thing in the last couple of years, but I've been a train person all my life. My first thoughts watching this was "STAY OFF THE TRACKS!!!" Even when you think your fine and you'll hear the train coming stay off and remember trains are wider that the tracks. Ribbon rail has made trains way quieter than most people think.
    I once arrived at work and could hear the crossing bell 800 ft away, I look that direction, but no train. Mind you I'm standing about 100 feet away from the tracks themselves, I turn too look away from the crossing and there it is. A train approaching the crossing going 40mph and just as quite as could be. They were coasting, so the loco was just idling as it went by. I have always been hyper aware for trains because of my love of them and yet this thing snuck up on me.
    Also if you're ever stuck on a crossing, look for the blue sign on it. There is an 800 number to call and a ID number to tell the person at the other end what crossing you're on. This way they can let trains crews know and hopefully avoid a collision.
    Trains are estimated to kill 1 person every 100 minutes. Each year nearly 1,000 people are killed in train related accidents.
    The U.S. Department of Transportation reports that 5,800 train-car collisions occur in the country every year. Most of these accidents take place at railroad crossings, leading to 600 deaths and 2,300 injuries. Never race a train, you will always lose!
    Be safe out there.

    Phew! Getting stuck so close to an active track like that is no bueno! Got crossed up trying to cross a random section of track once as a youngster. Had my dirt-bike in the back of my Dad's 74 Dodge D200 pickup and wanted to get to the other side of the track to ride, but the rails were higher than I expected and the truck got hung up. I knew it was an active track and that I done messed up badly and needed to get off them ASAP! Rocked back and forth a bit and eventually was able to get enough traction to power over it. Thank goodness it was the "pre traction control" days, because I needed all the power to the wheels! Ended up denting the gas tank, but I got off the tracks with a "lesson learned" experience. Dad wasn't happy I messed his gas tank up, but did appreciate his truck (and kid) didn't go up in a ball of flames.

Trains are loud, but they can sneak up on you quickly, especially when there is a blind corner and no horn blowing. There are several accidents and fatalities every year caused by people on or near the tracks that never saw it coming. It’s seems hard to imagine but it happens.

    Casey, just a point of reference. You made a comment about you shouldn’t use your air compressor for just one tire for too long (something like that) because it creates too much pressure. That statement is incorrect. Your pump, and others, creates flow, cubic feet per second (cfm). Restriction creates pressure. So your comment should have been that your compressor creates too much flow. I’m not trying to sound like a hater or call you a liar, just the opposite. I’ve heard you say several times before that you like to tell us correct information and it is greatly appreciated as some RUclipsrs just say what they think sounds cool. Thanks again for a great video. Always enjoy them.

    The load going over the bumps sealed it probably could’ve done the same thing by dropping it with the Jack once or twice if it got any dirt in the bead seal it will probably leak again though

    I'm hoping that you ate the pizza on the way to help this fellow because dust topping would ruin lunch for sure!

    To everyone bagging on the guys for how they were dressed, have you never gone home and changed your clothes after work, or do you think that whatever you're wearing at the beginning of the day is the only thing you're allowed to wear? You've never come home after work, showered, and changed into something else? If my interview was in the afternoon, I'm not going to sit in my business casual clothes all day for a 20 to 60 minute event.

      not to mention a lot of jobs dont want people how are scared of getting dirty. show up in steel toes, blue jeans, a shirt thats already got a rip, and most importantly wanting to work and you've got the job. thats how I got my first real job in a factory building 50' trailers.

    Casey saving more than vehicles. 10 years ago I had been out of work for 5 years and had just secured my current job. On my first day I had driven a few feet down the road and my driver's door came open as the lock had frozen open. Thinking I was going to lose my job before I started it over some thing so stupid I lost my temper and started slamming the door and swearing at my car. Needless to say that didn't work. But it did attacked the attention of a plumber who lived near by. Instead of shouting at me of telling me to shut up, he calmly asked me what the problem was and carefully used his blow torch on my door to free the lock. That night I went back to his house with some thank you gifts. 10 years later I still work at the same job. Not sure I could be that calm if someone was shouting and banging outside my house first thing in the morning. I owe that guy a lot. Good for him. Glad he got the job.

    It’s nice that you have someone film you but we couldn’t hear you. I’ve seen videos where they wear a mic is that something you might consider? Enjoy your content.
