He has only been feeding and giving water to her, he hasn't let her bathe, exercise, or even go to the bathroom at all. That should've been the first sign to him that she's not normal.
You keep two buckets and a wash basin within reach of the limits of your girlfriend's chains. One bucket full of soapy water for bathing in the basin with, and one bucket a quarter full of baking soda for relieving herself with. Clean and replace daily. A handy girlfriend seeker may replumb a room with a septic line to support a toilet and tub.
This was quite fun to watch. Her being cynical about love and not really doing yandere stuff like stabbing you, it all was a breath of fresh air. The artstyle was great and that smug expression was funny.
The Ultimate creep vibe I’m surprised he didn’t try to do horrendous things to her right off the bat after the whole “self pleasure” of just saying her name 🤮
Right? It made me feel uncomfortable too, i think maybe the reason is because it’s worded so that it feels like the concept of her is something to be digested or consumed, idk why tho it just gives me the heebie jeebies
This turned out WAY more awesome than I thought it would. I figured it was going to be a "no YOU are the one trapped in here with ME" kinda story, but I am super happy it has a Not A Coward good ending.
I was actually kinda hoping she was just incredibly narcissistic and manipulative and she essentially tricks you and you swap places from the kidnapper to kidnap-y and develop like a form of Stockholm syndrome
_The GF you had no idea you didn't want_ I enjoyed this. I felt like the kidnapping of her - whether real or in your mind - was a huge hilariously horrible mistake. Not the girl of your dreams...which is the point of "loving" someone you only know from an onscreen persona brain worm lol. Very clever dialogue and great editing on your part MBH. Also _excellent_ voice acting, which made the story really fly.
Well this is an interesting take on such a theme. So a very parasocial crazy fan kidnaps the person they are a fan of out pure obsession. I thought Michelle was playing along, and to trying stay safe. The game does a real good job at building that atmosphere up. I like the immediate switch to that smug looking art when you select personality. At first i thought she was playing it safe going along with her captors whims, but then she tries using her influence on him against him. Really asking some weird questions and showing them the person behind the mask. Since body horror was mentioned, i thought she chewed through her leg to survive. And then it took the doki doki turn lol. I do like that it turned out Michelle was like this monstrous parasitic thing that just molded to whatever she needed to feed herself. A little close to home in a way. I liked the good ending, they seemed happy. Considering the true ending, its possible that it caught the protag from the get go and never a streamer and what you see is all in your head.
Is this what they mean when they ask if you can "match my freak"? SPOILERS Yeah, I didnt expect to be so gripped by this looking at the art style and the initial premise. The writing was interesting and the dialogue felt natural. I almost wish that >SPOILERS< It didn't go into eldritch territory, I think it also would have been interesting if she was actually such a warped human that she put off even this crazed kidnapper with her hunger for validation.
Same here, I was enjoying the “im beautiful if you think I am” yandere stuff but then it decided to get disgusting, but I guess Manly wouldn’t have put this video up in the first place if it didn’t.
I like this game, we never actually know if the events are real in the game, or if the events are just in the head of the protag. There are so many ways to understand the story. Also Manly's VA work in this game was really good!
I liked this one alot too. I found myself agreeing with most of the brutal but genuine truths she said. Superficial love and shallow attraction, social commentary on vtubers (and streamers), of which many have fallen into parasocialism with before (including me), hiding the ugly for fear of rejection seems like obvious things when laid out like this but it's framed in a casual and meta, snarky manner. Criticizing beauty standards but also acknowledging that she herself follows them, because that's just and indispiutable fact of human nature. Doesn't lash out against this status quo, because that's just how it is. I like this part especially because I just roll my eyes averse to the mindset that people are wrong for liking aesthetically pleasing things and should be ashamed of it, even if as stated before, it is shallow, surface level. It doesn't make ugly things less ugly if pretty things are shallow, or are unindicative of what's beneath. That's how it is. And to lie and say an ugly thing is pretty, or looks don't matter at all is just a lie that everyone knows deep down. Is the ugly guy entitled to a pretty girl because he's actually really nice inside and no one gave him a chance? Or is the handsome guy who rejects an ugly girl a perpetrator of toxic beauty standards? It doesn't preach, doesn't tell you or shame you into thinking a way it wants you to, just to reflect by probing repeatedly with certain questions. I enjoy that it's thought provoking. Philiosophical. But maybe I probably like it the most because it encapsulates the cognitive dissonance of wanting to like someone for who they are and your own preferences of beauty and attraction. And it doesn't judge you (too hard) for it. Unfortunately I could not date a massive eyeball covered flesh monster. Very fitting as someone who understands Michelle's "only pretty things get loved, hide the ugly" mentality. It's poetic like that. And yes it is that deep.

I like this a lot so far. You can tell something is really wrong with her from how nonchalant she is. It feels like she's trying to get to know *us* so she can hurt us more and use us if/when she escapes. Like a contrast of how our character claimed to know everything about her from her streams. Maybe I'm totally off mark, but the dread and suspense waiting for the body horror element to come in is exhilarating.
It was the opposite for me. It tried to mesh too many things together, such that the body horror thing was just out of place by the time it came around.
@@loneIyboy15 Yeah I agree. Before the MC abandons her for a few days, it felt like the main horror would've come from her increasingly invasive questions and constant asking for validation involving love. The build up to the body horror didn't stick for me because she honestly could've been anything from a figment of the MC's imagination to a succubus. The only reason body horror has the suspense is because you'll generally be going in knowing it's there.
@loneIyboy15 I kind of get it. I forgot to include the timestamp for it, but I was about 20 minutes into it when I posted this comment. It goes into interesting angles and ideas, but it feels a tad odd. I would still say it kept me interested throughout, though.
The true horror of this game, is how this girl was the victim and managed to become an abuser 😭 You know girlies, if we ever get kidnapped: Girl boos, Gaslight, Gatekeep
This creator has some really interesting takes on anything. Plus it makes the girl character look even more crazy. Just finished the video and that ending is wild
31:21 Love the way that "You don't really know me do you?" was read, as if the mask was finally being lifted. Nice writing by the way. Saves me the trouble of going through a manipulative relationship.
Well that eating scene is a bit odd art wise but let's be real I was expecting her to die from the shrimp because she's allergic to fish. We're only 7 minutes in so this should be... something.
I love that the horror in this game actually comes from the girl manipulating the player rather than the player just.. being a kidnapper. xD It's a really unique approach. And it kinda makes kidnapping seem more viable, EHHH? 😉
I kidnapped my wife to marry her and it's been a few years and she still hasn't turned into a monster. I think that's just video games where that happens. I'd go for it.
@@aaronwilson311 I actually didn't watch the full video tbh, so I'm not really sure what your "monster" comment is referring to. xD But thanks for the advice! Maybe I'll consider it, lol.
After watching the video, it would seem: The body pillow implies, to me, that the whole situation was never real in the first place, and all in the players head. The bad ends happen because you end up looking for Michelle, which would be returning to her stream irl. The true end would be seeing Michelle's real personality, which is very bad compared to her front, and being stuck watching her anyway, feeling like you're feeding into a parasite (not confident about this one). The good end would be seeing Michelle's real personality, and enjoying it anyway. Which could be taken as that you've blinded yourself by love, or some other way I'm not smart enough to figure out. Take it with a grain of salt idrk what I'm yapping about
Pulling stuff out my bum here but it kind of reminds me of how I’ve seen so many posts lately about people idolizing / craving a “mentally ill/yandere/BPD girlfriend”. They’ll profess how much they want one, but they don’t really. What they want are all the glamorized traits of that, the clinginess, the possessiveness, how a girl like that won’t ever leave them because she’s so insecure… but you can’t have just the good traits. She’ll be suffocatingly clingy, to the point it feels you cannot breathe. Disgustingly possessive, where she’ll flip out if you so much as talk to someone else. So insecure that it’s all she ever speaks about, and it takes a mental toll on whoever she’s dating. The fact that sort of girl would never leave you becomes a nightmare instead of the dream you thought it would be. She’ll do anything to keep the relationship with you, no matter how poorly you treat her. She threatens to hurt herself if you leave, says she’ll do anything, change anything about herself… I doubt that’s what this is about though, it’s probably something deeper. I’m not very good at analyzing media. I was just reminded by the recent influx of “BPD gf” posts on my feed recently.
@@septimus3083 Wasn't there a news about a yandere girl assaulting her boyfriend in Japan, yet people's commentaries are wishing to be that boyfriend? Meanwhile they see themselves as the victims of the cruel world who try to mess their relationship... yet also the one who did the harrassment to those who against them. So yeah, I also never understand the glamorizing...
@@just_a_guy9688 I completely agree when it's done as an asspull, but here it would have significance to the message being that the main character has totally deluded himself
God damn there has been a while since a videogame disturbed me for real, for a moments i'd thought it would get on the vibes of DDLC trying to make the actual parasocial thing come out to the player were you get attached to Michelle, but the twist were good too, the dialogue is really good, the questions were what got me feeling uncomfortable a few times.
I'm actually surprised it didn't go more, especially with some of the lines "you couldn't handle a real girl doing this so this is what you do instead" (obviously the the double meaning being the character abducting someone and the player playing a visual novel), "I knew you were going to get bored of me" (which the character did, but also the player will when they've seen all the content). Only thing it missed to really hit the point would be acknowledging other choices you've made and loaded out of. Like say during that weird part if she was like "this is like the horror movies you like" for the yandere school girl scene and switched to the housewife one and went "oh wait, romance, you liked romance movies" (if you said horror, reloaded game, and said romance). Like that'd be a neat idea.
@@fallouthirteen That would be great if she remembered the things the player said before and use it against them, like she did with the pets if you tell her you had one. But the thing that bothers me about that, is that the dialogues after the game turns to the horror side, kinda stick more to the characther inside the game than the player outside you know? Imagine like, when the characther stopped giving her food, she started using the player to make the ingame characther do something, making us going against him, at least for me it would've worked, because at that point i was against why he stopped giving her food. Also i like what you mentioned about those lines, because i realized that as well, i thought she was talking about the player playing a visual novel about abducting someone, that point would've been a really good point to tease the player with why it's playing something like that to begin with.
This is actually wicked cool. Like a total deconstruction of the self-serving impersonal feelings that drive someone to see a girl as an object of affection more than a person, also taking apart the entire concept of the nonthreatening anime girl who only exists to be seen that way, and what kind of person markets themself like that to begin with. Like if the damsel route[s] in slay the princess was its own game. I would be surprised if it wasn't inspired by that honestly, it hits a lot of the same beats conceptually. Not commenting on how she's actually a monster love-parasite cause I'm pretty certain that's a metaphorical exploration of her psyche [and a pretty cool one at that. Hatching out of the body pillow like a chrysalis! What a powerful visual! I could write an essay on this game istg].
You know, I enjoy analyzing and breaking down concepts in games like this in my mind but find it so hard to properly put down those thoughts into words so I always love finding comments like yours that are able to do that perfectly ^^
Same dude! The true ending really puts the unhinged parasocial relationship metaphor into perspective. When he finds out she isn't exactly how he dreamed in his head, he rejects her and starts seeing her as a parasite instead of the cute anime girl. Like what a way to visualize men projecting insane expectations onto women, then being repulsed when they don't meet them. It's the true ending bc he just accepts that warped reality and just goes back to it. Love that the good ending is the mc learning to accept someone for their flaws how cute 🥲
Everything's about people. Our comrade's just like this. I say when you have a mush in your head you have a weight on your soul. She hasn't been handling solo living very well. I never expected the isolated star student to start drinking, though I should have. It is quite harder for girls, us boys never feel as lonely out in the plains thanks to the "X factor" of the collective. Can't imagine how much harder it must be for our folks in the valleys though. I'm glad we can spend time together, it's a tremendous relief, even if once a week or so. She calls us losers but I know she's not going to miss a party, here's hoping she stops bringing alcohol. Always talking about how she's ugly and how nobody wants her. Can't really get through to her, especially since she tends to be drunk. Thinks she's got unlucky with her place of origin, the face, and I think she's serious about getting surgery once she has the money. At the end of the day it's just loneliness. Very human, otherwise it would not be interesting in any piece of entertainment.
This was really suprisingly good! The slow building feeling of how manipulative and uncomfortable Michelle is to talk to straight into the horror suspense, and then into the Love Torment Nexus. I think it's very very interesting how our two protags are both reflections of the same insecurity, which the game isn't too subtle about; the desire to be loved versus the belief that they can't be. The Kidnapper's obvious about this; they think they have to kidnap their obsessive streamer crush to get a girlfriend. Michelle is a little less so; she wants to be loved because it feeds her, but she doesn't get how a relationship works, why somebody would actually love her, so she builds the facsimile of a perfect girl. And then her relationships fall apart as her own shell doesn't hold up to maintaining the connection beyond surface level. She doesn't think she Can love because she's distanced herself too much from it, that it would be too genuine. It's fascinating stuff, and she makes for a great monster in contrast to a rather human 'monster' of a protag.
Super good game! I wanted to feel bad for the girl from the very beginning and it threw me through a loop to find out about her strange controversial philosophy and then threw me through an even bigger loop that she wasn't human from the first place. It was funny, i thought that it would just be a 'don't meet your heroes' moment
Parasocial paranoia paradise perfectly puts into perspective people parasocially peering personas picked with the purpose of putting up a perfect painting of a person
As ridiculous as the good end is, I like it a lot- everyone who’s ever put themselves out there can fear rejection, and image issues or problems with self esteem can truly make you feel like a hideous or unlovable entity. To say that such a thing even can still be loved, despite not being the true ending or the ending that makes the most sense, does make me feel somewhat content
God, this is some good, subtle horror... Not even halfway through and I'm already confused and scared by the "victim"... The sound of clinking chains every time her art changes is a GOOD touch... 😅
I love these really well written games with multiple endings. I feel like my writing comprehension gets a boosts seconds after starting to listen to them.
I would argue that he was infected from the start, but in a more metaphorical sense. She feeds on 'love', before you captured her she was basically filter-feeding online attention. In the bad end you basically locked yourself in with a starved lion.
What I expected: a visual novel from a yandere POV turned on its head. What I got: ?????? In all seriousness, though, this was really well-done. The good end kinda threw me off, though: I thought Michelle died after being ignored for so long and the POV character, racked with guilt, started hallucinating.

And yes it is that deep.
i love this type of analysis, thank u very much

She threatens to hurt herself if you leave, says she’ll do anything, change anything about herself…
I doubt that’s what this is about though, it’s probably something deeper.

@@septimus3083 No, the real problem is they get bored, cheat, and leave you anyway. So all this stress is for nothing.
True. It has this Slay the Princess vibe, and really explores the mind of the typical 'obsessed fan' and the typical 'popular kawaii streamer girl'
Love this comment!!
