Does it play videos while driving? Do the steering wheel buttons still work?
This device does not support video. It's a CarPlay and Android Auto adapter. The steering controls work though.

if you don't have type C port, you can use type A port in your car.
After connecting Bluetooth and WIFI ... do you have to connect wifi or does it connect to wifi automatically? If so, then you can't use your phone's data internet.
Yes, it connects automatically and uses your phone's data in order to have internet connection on your CarPlay / Android Auto.
@jansen_vlog what do you use to connect the phone and the Carlinkit? If both wifi and Bluetooth, then you can't have mobile data. My Samsung doesn't allow mobile date and wifi at the same time.
I use BT to connect to CarPlay or Android Auto. You just have to turn on your WiFi in order the CarPlay or Android Auto to work wirelessly. If your WiFi is turned off, it will not connect.
What will happen when you enter the car with both iPhone & Android phone. Which one will be actvated: Apple carplsy or Android Auto?
In settings you can decide the priority BTW you can enable or disable autoconnect in order to choose manually which phone will connect.

stoopid question, but is there a specific USB port that needs to be used? Like if you have an aftermarket receiver, does it need to be plugged into the USB port that is connected to the receiver? I assume so, but nobody ever mentions that ahahahaha
Yes. The USB port must be connected your head unit in order this to work. Also, it must be compatible. Your factory head unit or aftermarket must support wired carplay. If not, it won't work.

Not sure why the Volkswagen appeared on Apple CarPlay, but that icon can be changed and renamed with this particular adapter.
Why not only turn on Bluetooth but wifi as well?
To connect wirelessly to CarPlay and Android Auto, you need WiFi and BT To be turned on. It uses both the Bluetooth connection and a closed WiFi network to communicate with the phone. This allows both sufficient bandwidth for data exchange (WiFi) and sufficient control protocols to exchange commands with your phone (Bluetooth).
