in 4.0 version there is a possibility to replace this menu with black screen, unless your phone connects to a car. It should be possible if you mess around in settings of device
Not quite. The CarPlay interface is actually part of the iPhone, not the head unit. So while the Carlinkit has its own screens during connection, CarPlay is still native because it’s native to the phone.
I have a Buick regal an got the carlink 5.0 I connected to my Bluetooth, nothing happens connected to the WiFi an entered in the password 12345678. Nothing stlll connects.. went to the browser an entered in the number to search, says everything is connected but nothing screens to vehicle? I didn’t get any prompts on phone or car when car link connected via Bluetooth or WiFi. Is it just the vehicle? Or why can’t I get it to pair to my screen in car
Thanks for the comment. I would recommend reaching out to the manufacturer and explaining your issue. I’m only really able to comment on my experience and the use of it in my own car.
Thanks for your comment. I would have but the EV6 doesn’t cut power to the USB port for some time after power off :/ I will say, it’s about a 15-20 second power up and connect time.
It is very nice, but nobody in these kind of videos talks about phone battery life? So I would try to ask here, how is battery life on the phone while using Carlinkt 5.0?
I don’t think anyone mentions it because it’s a non-issue. It uses Bluetooth to connect to your phone and Bluetooth draws very little battery these days.
No, it’s not required to function. The Carlinkit has its own WiFi network that you can connect to to change product settings but it’s not required for operating the product.
Bluetooth does not have enough bandwidth for the navigation data that needs to go from the phone to the device. WIFi is used for that so you need to put your phone to charge otherwise your battery will drain quickly.
I watched video after video and no-one talks about call quality. I bought carlinkit and having a conversation is horrible. The drops are terrible. I then bought ottocast thinking if you pay more it will definitely be better. Nope.
If left unplugged to your KIA USB does it drain the battery? I understand it’s specific to every car, but what about your KIA? Thanks 😊
I used Command Velcro strips.
If you leave the usb connected in your car, will it drain the battery?
That depends entirely on your car and how it’s designed. The device itself will not draw power unless power is provided by your USB port.
Is there any way to disable the carlinkit splash screen when you enter the car???
Not from what I can tell.

what is sync mode for?
no details much on the manual
What is the purpose of the carlinkit, Which Still has a Wire?
Can you use steering wheel buttons to control it? Like skip a song or volume?
Yep, everything functions as like it’s wireless
@@Westopheras like its wired you mean.
does this replace your car's native Carplay screen with it's own "carliniktit CarPlay" screens?

CarlinKit 5 doesn,t work with Rav4 2022.
That doesn’t make sense to me, but if that was your experience, I can’t confirm or deny it. I don’t own that car so I can’t say for sure.
