@DefensisIndus yes the owners are white and it's in America obviously lol but I'm tryna give a history lesson on this great store, it's the last original clothing store for a reason, Hollywood also has gotten clothes here for some classic movies like the sandlot and la bamba amongst many others, Ice cube also used to shop there before he was famous
@@DefensisIndusyes but Greenspan’s is a stable in Mexican American/Californian(Chicano) culture I grew up as a kid in a LA being told Greenspans is where you go to get your crispy shit
As a collector of Pendleton shirts and blankets I’m going to have to make my way down there. I usually make a pilgrimage to the factory store in Oregon every year, but that’s all current stock. I’d LOVE to get my hands on some mid-60s stock.
@@MoreThanAMuppet I love Pendleton as well and I can say they do carry a bit of everything you'll see hope you get the chance to go down there in South gate
Dude, you must! Greenspan has pendletons you ain't ever seen before. Stuff no one has. You just gotta dig. The pendleton factory and store got nothing on greenspans. I mean nothing! Greenspans is a pilgrimage for pendleton shirt collectors. Bring lots of $$$. You gonna find stuff you can't leave without.
I lived in LA for six years, can't believe I never heard of this place. Great find and Great find-in the back! They need to open a second -BIG shop....And Great job on your video.
Oh maaan I was jealous of you the whole time! I'm from East LA , around the late 80's early 90's the my man and his friends wore Ben Davis pants size 52, 54, & even 56 and not one of them had a waist over 34 or 36 😂
That shop looks fantastic! The bottom of that pile must be amazing, hope there might be a point where someone (hopefully you) is able to uncover what grails are hiding there.
This is awesome I would love to get up there in that room full.of gems 😊❤ thanks for sharing this hopefully they get some more shoppers and they can get to some of that stock back there ❤😊
Went here about a month ago for the first time, even though I grew up a city away from Greenspans. I managed to get some vintage deadstock stock for a great price. All you gotta do is ask up front. They’re genuinely great people and you’ll leave with more than you can spend. I’m definitely heading back here when I go back and visit.
This is the shit I live for. I used to pick clothes for a vintage store here in Colorado and they’d send me to LA to look through rag houses but I would’ve came here if I knew it existed!! Love old clothes hahaha
My last job was in South Gate. It borders South Central. It’s dirty and filled with gangs. That shot of downtown was brilliant, it made it look like an old part of the SGV.
Apparently he only foams at the mouth when its white dudes from old movies and pics that he thinks the shit is fashionable. Things like ben davis only become cool when its another white man wearing them and finding out about them for the first time. Kendrick said it best they not like us

So, where can I stay for a weekend since it'll be more then a day until I'm wore out looking for the gems of gems. P.S. I appreciate your time and video hosting on "B. D. ".
I wear a 42 waist, see i give up a lot on vintage stores as its rare they carry sizes that big. Seeing this store makes me want to run to it but I am over the pond sadly. Great video
What a great video, Albert. Awesome production and editing. Please let me know where I can submit to be the star of your Queer Eye-esque makeover video.
YES this is the edgy Albert long form content I’m here for. You should do this kind of exploration video at Jet Rag in Weho and Iguana Vintage Clothing in Sherman Oaks.
That ish had me weak😂. This the first video I’ve seen of him and I live like 40 min from this store imma give him a follow. But ya would’ve been nice he he showed some representation for the raza but he probably just didn’t wanna be even the slightly bit controversial
They do have an online store. The prices are exorbitant! I recently bought a vintage deadstock Pendleton shirt on Poshmark for less than $20, but this store are selling 2023 stock for $170 or more.
Remember wearing these clothes back when we ran the streets with not much money, and now it definitely isn't for that anymore. Prices are up there for "gang attire" 😂
That would be so awesome I'm not really into Ben Davis but am into clothes and shoes heavy so I feel your excitement I would love to look into a store of my liking back stock from the 80's hopefully they hooked you up with clothes you should help the guy sell it at vintage stores
I actually live a few blocks down from this store. It’s been around since I could remember a lot of the neighborhood skaters would purchase their clothes from this location.
It’s funny how he think he discovered greenspans when he like “before I upload and you guys find out and come” like people have been going forever that place never gonna shut down they always have business before this guy ever made a video lmao
I’ve never been to California, I’m from the PNW, but even up here Ben Davis & Pendleton have been the staple since the dawn of man; that being said I’ve heard so much about Greenspan’s since I was a literal child, and this video is the only one to ever do them the justice of exhibiting just how quintessential they are in the grander scheme of things 🍻🫡🐐🔥
I really do hope the prices don’t get hiked up even more, and you have people that have other businesses trying to buy out their dead stock for the profit of their own pockets, making them astronomically high I also have a problem the way he’s thinking in another part of town. This would also astronomically high, but it’s not about that and that’s the problem.
My best friends 13 year old nephew requested Ben Davis and dickies for Christmas. We grew up n the 90’s, We just laughed. Her husband was like, look at these youngins just found out, using our lifestyle as a fashion statement. Lol 😅
The organizer in me would want to volunteer to sort everything out for them. A lot of people might see $$$ in all this, which of course there’s money to be made, but this shop should find a way to permanently brand these items and sell them for what they would’ve originally sold for. The branding would be to make it harder for resellers to mark them up. Especially if the shop publicly states that’s they want their stock to go to people who’ll wear it and use it. If you can’t tell I hate the thrift scene these days

Never seen a video about apparel hunting like that - quite enjoyable. Intriguing enough that it requires a sequel, a deep dig 2.

Omgosh 😮😮😮 Greenspans should set up a vintage boutique style room inside their store. Just bring 1 box at a time to fill the racks. Great video.

FYI they have paused all deadstock sales- speak to the boss and he can add you to a contact list. But no vintage for sale if you go today
Good. Gotta respect the clothing. Too many jerks out there with zero respect. I've seen it in my resale business.
