I live near there, and hear it pronounced that all the time (Man-oh-way) but considering it's named after Matua, Italy, you'd think we'd pronounce it similar to that, (Man-tova).

There’s a town in southern NJ whose name is spelled the same. Mantua. Pronounced MAN-chew-uh.

This is so interesting. I'm in NS, Canada. We have a Mantua and it's pronounced Manaway here.
