As someone who lives in Italy, your videos are absolutely fabulous. Your tips are great but the way you highlight things which seem commonplace but are actually the things people never tell you is a genuine service to visitors from abroad. Keep up the great work. I'm working my way through your content and find it a real pleasure. Thank you!
Another excellent video, great to see the wonderful petrol station, making and serving the coffee and pastries. Glad you enjoyed making this video, seems fun, to film and enjoy the food, coffee and friendship. Keep up the excellent work…
This was my find of the week. Really enjoyable and so true! What a great find to see Italy as it actually is instead of out of some travel magazine. Authentic people working hard every day. Real community. In an excellently presented video.
Real community still exists in our area of Bagni di Lucca, and I hope that Lucca realizes it needs to think to preserve it. I so agree that It is families like this that make going to the bar and eating in country restaurants such a pleasure.
I am in the US, and agree that coffee is the best time of day. Going back to Lucca in Sept for 2 months, and always LOVE the coffee there. This was a great video, Grazie Mille
Great video. With the mention of the fresh ground polenta, would it be possible to do a polenta recipe in a future video? It seems to be a large part of Italian cuisine that's overlooked in America.
Since I went off coffee some years ago, and settled for tea, I occasionally drink it as medicine. It's always black , made by someone else and usually filtered. I noticed on the cake counter what looked to be a budino (if that's the local term as I think its origin is Florentine) which were my favourite cakes when I lived in Tuscany. Will now definitely call in at the garage for more than petrol so thanks for the alert.
You do have sharp eyes, do you mean the budino di riso? We have confess not one of our favourites! I think we will all agree on the lasagna if you try it. Coffee now seem to be becoming a super food as it has been proven to be the elixir of life so we know drink it with no sense of guilt.
@@PiazzaTalkLucca Yes 'de riso'. When made with care and top ingredients .... wunderbar. We are not going to agree on Italian cakes although I would eat the curranty bun that Celia chose - all other cakes in Italy are beyond the pale for me. I must start drinking coffee though as you are right - it is supposed to be good for one ... until 10 years from now when someone proves otherwise.
Not for breakfast but perhaps pastiera and sfogliatella (riccia or frolla) when you lived in Naples? And what about Sicilian cannoli to name just a few?
In the video on Sunday, Claudio a local cook says very few people still know and do our local farinata, Gianluca's recipe is different, made with chestnut flour and red wine, even though he comes from the same village. So some recipe collecting and tasting to do in the winter. Farinata isn't part of Enzo's tradition. This I think you will agree is the fun of Italian cooking. Does your family have a version?
Mamma mia, non mangerei nulla di tutto quello!! I gusti variano molto in Italia.
Everyone needs to start the day with love in a cup !
We 100% agree.

Thank you for your kind word and feedback. We love to show aspects of everyday Italian life and make visitors feel more at home when they're here.
The petro stops have great meals awaiting the travelers. Thanks for sharing, it brings back wonderful memories of Italy.
Yes even the Autogrill are good but this place is really special, if you ever come to Bagni di Lucca I urge you to drop in.
Celia and Enzo - wonderful! I really really enjoyed this video about local coffee culture and food. And what a fantastic place. Grazie ❤
This is a bar with such a happy buzz and in an unexpected setting.
Loved this video. It makes me want to jump on a plane right this minute and fly to Italy! Grazie mille.
Thank you for your lovely comment and I hope you can hop on a plane flying this way before too long.

Thank you for your lovely comment. We are very lucky to have wonderful local bars and restaurants.
Love your videos! I learn something every time I watch them. Thank you for putting them out!
Molto grazie!
Thank you. Your comment means a great deal to us.
Probably my favorite line in this video is when Enzo says “would you say coffee is the best time of the day?” And then he smiles.
I truly believe it! ❤️
Awesome video - thanks a lot!
Grazie a te!

Grazie for your kind words. Coffee in Italy is a national treasure.
What an enjoying way to have a morning cup of coffee!
We love this bar. The family who fun it are delightful and there is always someone to have a chat with. The coffee is also very good.
Can’t wait to visit!@@PiazzaTalkLucca
coffee IS the best part of the day, indeed!!
Totally agree!
Gianluca always has a lovely chat when ever I get my Gasolio there, never had more than a coffee there, so maybe try it for il Pranzo.
The workers lunch is really great and fun, do try to get the lasagna .
Such a nice good morning🌸🌸🌸🌸good morning from Port Townsend👍
Good morning, breakfast in the bar is joy for us and also you?

We will certainly do some polenta recipes. Thank you for reminding us.

❤❤❤ I love Italy and appreciate the lovely video! La gente più bella at the petrol station. 😘
This is our little local hidden treasure. A family that always greet you with a smile, a perfect cup of coffee starts the morning on a high.
It is such a unique place. Do they still do that apple tart to die for !!
I haven't seen it for a while, I think Granny has retired!
One of our favourite cafes is also a petrol station on the way to Pisa!
Where is your petrol station bar?
I want to know more about the farinata with warm wine! I only know it with fagioli e cavalo nero drizzled with oliò.

@@PiazzaTalkLucca maybe it will be cool outside when we return in November and you can join us for some dinner of farinata di cavolo nero.
That would be fun
Caffè sempre in tazza fredda x me😘

I have a somewhat strange question, what type of sugar is in the packets at the bars, white or raw (brown)?
There is a choice of white or brown sugar. in this bar and most bars in Italy.
We understood an alternative name for a ‘macchiato in tazza grande’ is ‘macchiatone’.
Is that right?
Yes, some people call it macchiatone.
Go to the south... The quality of Cornetto and caffè Is much better
Coffee only Naples. Cornetti are too rich. Serena's coffee is very good. This bar is now closed. By the way I'm from the South. Saluti
